Jamba Juice | $1 smoothies and other big deals

In celebration of three new smoothie flavors, “health-drink” company Jamba Juice is offering $1 smoothies. The $1 Jamba Juice smoothie deal is only good on Wednesday, June 16, but Jamba Juice is running several summertime specials. Founded in 1990, Jamba Juice has just signed a large expansion agreement for stores outside of the U.S.

$1 Jamba Juice smoothies

The $1 Jamba Juice smoothies are available at almost every one of the 745 Jamba Juice locations in the U.S. and Bahamas. The $1 smoothies are only offered for three flavors – the new Pomegranate, Acai and Yumberry. All three of these flavors are “superfruit” smoothies with antioxidant rich fruits. There is a two per customer limit on the $1 16 ounce fruit smoothies, so your friends will all need to come with you.

Jamba Juice coming to South Korea

The Jamba Juice brand started with just smoothies, but has since expanded to breakfast and sandwiches. Just last week, Jamba Inc., the umbrella company that both owns and franchises Jamba Juice stores, signed an agreement with Paris Croissant. The companies will co-develop 200 Jamba Juice stores in South Korea. Other than the Bahamas, this will be the first international set of stores for Jamba Juice. The first South Korea Jamba Juice will open up in the last quarter of 2010.

Making your own Jamba Juice

Jamba Juice has been moving forward not only into other countries, but into grocery stores. Frozen fruit blends branded with the Jamba Juice name and flavors have been showing up in freezer cases around the country. These fruit blends are usually frozen fruit, yogurt, sugars, corn starch and other thickeners. The smoothie blends are still technically “all natural” even with the thickeners. These smoothies are, usually, about 200 to 300 calories per 16 ounce serving. If you were to make the smoothies with your own ingredients, you could know exactly what is going into it. Throw frozen yogurt or regular yogurt in with fruit and ice and some juice for a healthier smoothie with less sugar tastier.
