My third child just joined the swimming team and I need a payday loan. The children grow up and develop healthy interests and hobbies, but everything costs money.

The first son is a swimmer

It’s going to take a payday loan to get Tommy onto the swimming team. I bet you never knew just how expensive swimming can be. We had our first taste of this when our eldest son, Jason, decided that he wanted to take up serious swimming. Training 3 times a week means 3 entries to the pool every week, gas back and forth, swimsuits, plus a variety of extras that add up very quickly.

Jason soon became a strong and fast swimmer and was selected for his age-group team at the local club. Now he participates in swimming galas and tournaments regularly. Each entry costs between $10 and $50 depending on where it is and its competition level.

The second son is a swimmer

Second son Jeremy watched Jason’s progress with envy and finally couldn’t restrain himself. I met his request to join the swimming club with mixed feelings, pride at raising two swimmers and misgivings at the costs I could see looming on the horizon. Anyway, one way or another we managed the extra expenses and a few months later Jeremy too was on a team and racing every weekend. More entry fees and incidental costs and a lot of gas costs carpooling all over town.

The third son is a swimmer

Image by marcopako  via Flickr

Then came the Olympic Games and my family of swimmers sat glued to the TV screen watching Michael Phelps working his magic. “I wanna swim too!” yelled Tommy, aged 8, in great excitement. “I can be faster than Phelps!” I had no choice but to turn to payday loans for help with the initial costs.

The costs of educating the kids seem to be astronomical this year; have things gone up in price so much? The cost of gas certainly has spiraled and Ann is in the car every day taking or fetching from one swimming pool or another. Of course Murphy’s Law operates smoothly and efficiently so all 3 boys swim at different times and at different pools. We’ve cut down on other expenses in order to pay for all the swimming tabs, as we call them. This means very little eating out, no shows and only an occasional movie. I’ve used a payday loan a couple of times to help when there have been other expenses to deal with and that has worked out very well.

A Payday Loan to help

The Payday Loan system is great. I make the application on the internet and in no time the loan is approved and the money is in my account. So far I have always managed to pay it back in the following month. I am making other small savings as well which all help. The boys are old enough to be without a babysitter now, so we are saving those costs. The price of gas has finally leveled out and according to the papers it will start falling soon. That too will help.

This is what raising a family is about. Ann and I derive a great deal of pleasure watching our sons’ progress and triumphs. We have made a new circle of friends from among the parents of the swimming crowd. We enjoy our swimming weekends and swimming parties. Most of all, I am relaxed knowing that a payday loan will always be there to help me over a sticky patch.

Racing is fast becoming one of America’s most popular sports, and many people have trouble coming up with entry fees, which you could use payday loans for, but that hasn’t deterred many people from participating. The video game era, coupled with the increase in coverage of NASCAR and Indy racing events, and also with motorcycle events such as regular motorcycle racing and extreme motorbike circuits, has been getting more and more people involved in, and fans of, motor sports. Movies like Biker Boyz, Torque, and the Fast and the Furious series have served as some amazing PR for motorsports. The Speed Channel, part of the News Corporation (FOX) is a TV channel that covers all things racing.

All you need is a car and a pink slip

One of the most controversial shows on the network is a drag racing series that premiered the parent program in 2005. The parent program was called Pinks, the spinoff that followed in 2006 was called Pinks: All Out! The newest season of Pinks: All Out is shortly to make its season debut at the Texas Motorplex on January 7th, where it will begin filming. The Ennis, Texas raceway is an explicitly drag racing venue, where numerous drag racing events occur including NHRA Funny Car drag races. Ordinarily, the entry fees for them are furnished by sponsors, as the money involved in a Funny Car event is far too much for payday loans to possibly cover.

What is a Pink Slip?

The premise of the show is what is called racing for pink slips. Pink Slips, ordinarily a term for a termination notice is a reference to the pink colored registration forms that the California DMV used to issue. Racing for pink slips involves two, or a series, of racers, who drag race (start from a stand still, then whoever crosses the finish line without breaking the pre-approved rules wins) agreeing that the winner of said race gets the title or pink slip to the loser’s vehicle. Street racing is illegal worldwide, and racing for pink slips is illegal in 40 out of the 50 United States.

The original TV show had a format where those vehicles determined to be competitive enough faced off in individual best-of series, and the car with the most wins (2 of 3 in the first season, 3 of 5 in the later half of season one through four, and 4 of 7 in the fifth season) got the title of the loser’s car along with a prize package. Pinks: All Out! is more simplistic – of the cars that show up to the event, those deemed competitive enough face off in a single elimination tournament until the last competitor is eliminated, with the prize package being similar.

At least what they’re doing is legal

Street racing is illegal. If you engage in it, you likely will be caught, your car will be seized and auctioned off, and you will likely go to jail and lose your license. Amateur drag racing is far more ideal than prison. You won’t even be able get enough payday loans to cover fines and a lawyer.

Most professional sportsmen in the modern era will never have to worry about payday loans or tight finances for the whole of their lives, and those ball players that gravitate towards the New York Yankees generate some of the biggest paydays that pro sports have to offer. The Yankees, perhaps the most legendary team of all baseball history, and winner of more Major League pennants and more American League titles than almost any division combined. The team’s trend over the last few years has been to spend top dollar in order to acquire the best of the best in baseball, and they have the biggest payroll in all sports, though they’ve failed to reach a series since 2000 and a division title since 2003.

Latest acquisition had less to do with the team than other factors

While the allure of donning the pinstripes of a Yankees uniform is appealing to some, to Teixeira it was reportedly one of the further things from his mind. According to his agent, the Yankees weren’t the most lucrative of offers, but the deal clincher was that his wife, Leigh, who suggested to him that he should take the offer from New York. She was in favor of him joining the Bronx Bombers over other teams, especially the Red Sox, who have won a pennant in the last five years. (They have won two, as a matter of fact.)

The latest acquisition of the New York Yankees has been burning up the headlines in the sports columns across the country, as the Yankees were one of the teams that were competing to secure the services of Mark Teixeira. Teixeira, a hot property first baseman, came in to free agency at the end of the 2008 season, which he ended with the Anaheim Angels, after being traded mid-season from the Atlanta Braves.

Upon graduation from college, he was drafted again by The Texas Rangers. He played with the Rangers from 2003 to 2007, Atlanta from 2007 to 2008 and was traded in July 2008 to the Anaheim Angels, and then at the end of his 2008 season entered free agency as one the most sought after free agents. In his MLB tenure, he’s won two Golden Gloves and two Silver Bats, and can play first and third base as well as outfield. Oh yeah, and on top of all that, he is one of only five players that hit 100 home runs in his first three seasons; one of the other members of that list is Yankee legend Joe DiMaggio. With a career like this, one doubts that he would have to get payday loans to cover the move from LA to New York.

Family comes first – along with a truck load of cash

While some will no doubt be mocking the deciding factor in the move, a baseball player who exhibits strong family values is commendable. The fact that he is a great player on both offense and defense is a bonus. Payday loans can work in much the same way, if you are going to fall short on an upcoming bill, or if a sudden expense throws you a curve, you can apply for payday loans through Personalmoneystore.com to pinch hit or step in to provide relief pitching.

Some of the highest levels of business have been lining up for quick payday loans, and many more appear to be joining the ranks. Most professional sports organizations have been announcing job cuts during the current economic downturn, even though the sports industry is usually recession proof. The NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB have all been cutting jobs and freezing hires in order to cut back on expenses, but the Arena Football League seems to have taken the hardest hit. On Monday, the Arena Football League announced it will suspend the 2009 season.

League suspended to restructure business model

Even though professional sports are typically recession-proof, the AFL decided it needs time to figure how to react to the current economic downturn. In the wake of other professional sports leagues making cuts, the AFL’s owners decided a long, stark look at the finances of the AFL is needed in order to determine whether the business model will be viable long term. Arena football has been growing consistently more popular in the U.S. for the last decade, and was beginning to enjoy some success – until the 2008 season. Last year, the league posted attendance of more than 1.5 million people over the season, a league best. However, while attendance has been steadily growing, the league doesn’t seem to be able to get a handle on its finances.

Roster of teams changes frequently

The AFL’s list of teams has been continuously changing since its inception. The 2008 season saw the folding of New Orleans’ team and the beginning of a serious debate about what to do with free agents. While attendance has been on the rise, the league’s debt rose right along with it, and 2008 ended with the league’s future in doubt. Just days after a statement was issued emphatically saying the league was going to stay in operation next year, the team owners – including Jon Bon Jovi, part owner of the Philadelphia Soul – decided on a different course of action during a conference call Sunday, apparently not looking into getting some quick payday loans to float them. The decision was made to suspend all league operations for 2009, pending an agreement with the players’ union. The plan is to restructure the league’s business model and find a way to make Arena Football teams profitable by 2010.

Let’s hope the league can successfully return

Seeing Arena Football teams back on the field would sure beat seeing the downfall of a 20-year-old professional sport. The Arena Football League has attracted droves of fans, and some Arena Football players have been drafted by NFL teams. (Such as Kurt Warner, quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals.) The AFL and the af2 (the lower division of professional arena football) have been drawing more and more fans, especially in areas that are geographically distant from NFL franchise teams. Hopefully, the AFL’s restructure will return it to profitability, as quick payday loans can for a temporarily interrupted budget.
