Some of the highest levels of business have been lining up for quick payday loans, and many more appear to be joining the ranks. Most professional sports organizations have been announcing job cuts during the current economic downturn, even though the sports industry is usually recession proof. The NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB have all been cutting jobs and freezing hires in order to cut back on expenses, but the Arena Football League seems to have taken the hardest hit. On Monday, the Arena Football League announced it will suspend the 2009 season.

League suspended to restructure business model

Even though professional sports are typically recession-proof, the AFL decided it needs time to figure how to react to the current economic downturn. In the wake of other professional sports leagues making cuts, the AFL’s owners decided a long, stark look at the finances of the AFL is needed in order to determine whether the business model will be viable long term. Arena football has been growing consistently more popular in the U.S. for the last decade, and was beginning to enjoy some success – until the 2008 season. Last year, the league posted attendance of more than 1.5 million people over the season, a league best. However, while attendance has been steadily growing, the league doesn’t seem to be able to get a handle on its finances.

Roster of teams changes frequently

The AFL’s list of teams has been continuously changing since its inception. The 2008 season saw the folding of New Orleans’ team and the beginning of a serious debate about what to do with free agents. While attendance has been on the rise, the league’s debt rose right along with it, and 2008 ended with the league’s future in doubt. Just days after a statement was issued emphatically saying the league was going to stay in operation next year, the team owners – including Jon Bon Jovi, part owner of the Philadelphia Soul – decided on a different course of action during a conference call Sunday, apparently not looking into getting some quick payday loans to float them. The decision was made to suspend all league operations for 2009, pending an agreement with the players’ union. The plan is to restructure the league’s business model and find a way to make Arena Football teams profitable by 2010.

Let’s hope the league can successfully return

Seeing Arena Football teams back on the field would sure beat seeing the downfall of a 20-year-old professional sport. The Arena Football League has attracted droves of fans, and some Arena Football players have been drafted by NFL teams. (Such as Kurt Warner, quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals.) The AFL and the af2 (the lower division of professional arena football) have been drawing more and more fans, especially in areas that are geographically distant from NFL franchise teams. Hopefully, the AFL’s restructure will return it to profitability, as quick payday loans can for a temporarily interrupted budget.

We’ve all had to get something last minute, leaving a gap in the finances that can require payday loans to get it taken care of, like having to get some business appropriate attire for an interview for that dream job, or something along those lines. A few people need extra money for bail or an attorney’s retainer. Be thankful if the last set of circumstances isn’t yours. Some people run afoul of the law for the most outrageous of reasons, and it never ceases to astonish just what crimes people are willing to commit for the most imprudent of reasons to do so.

We’ve all had our break-ups, but it is never a reason to commit a felony

A woman in Indiana has had a serious falling out after her most recent relationship has gone up in smoke, along with her freedom, in all likelihood. Now, we all know that some relationships are in and of themselves bad, and that some breakups get incredibly ugly. It’s a fact of life, and as unfortunate as it is to have to deal with the loss of the bonds you have with someone you once loved and the subsequent pain and heartache, a person must bear in mind that some good will come of it eventually. Also, domestic abuse is something nobody should ever have to take. Although it is natural to have frustrations with your partner, it isn’t anywhere within any bounds whatsoever to abuse them, mentally or emotionally, and it is also wrong to take it. All this being said, there are normal, constructive, and ultimately legal ways to handle these things. You don’t have to resort to anything insane in order to cope.
According to a police report, a 26 year old woman has set fire to a block of storage units, and has been arrested on the charge of arson, a felony. Now she may be needing payday loans for a lawyer. What evidently has happened was that after a long, on-going domestic dispute with a former boyfriend, she took his clothes to the storage units in order to dispose of them. She set fire to the clothes, and then left them to burn, which caused fire to spread to the rest of the building, which burned down. The total damage was $100,000 in lost property, and she was taken into custody on Wednesday in Anderson, Indiana. (Sources do not indicate whether or not the woman was a redhead.) She was booked into the Madison County Jail, and then later released upon posting $20,000 bond. Her court case is pending.

This was NOT a disco inferno

A cheery fire is great. A loved one’s things, as well as an entire storage facility being set ON fire are not. That is a felony. Now it is a serious thing, this monumental of a mistake, but it is slightly humorous. (Anyone remember the jilted astronaut who drove several hundred miles wearing a NASA diaper to confront her ex-boyfriends’ lover?) Just bear in mind, that in a sudden emergency, where you have a financial gap to cover, you have sensible options to look to, such as payday loans instead of, say, setting anything on fire.

You may think that some of America’s politicians have seen their last day in office and will be on the lookout for payday loans, but other countries have had problems with their leadership as well. Some places do not have the high level of corruption that was demonstrated by Illinois Governor , or if state officials have their way, soon to be Former Governor Rod Blagojevich, and his subsequent lack of any humility whatsoever. The sort of action where a criminal official believes himself above the law defies the bedrock fundamentals of democracy. However, some legal infractions of other government’s agents and otherwise, are a little bit more cheeky.

Australia’s Parliament may soon have to submit to Breathalyzer tests

Yes, Virginia, you heard it. The Australian Parliament is contemplating instilling a rule that would make it a requirement for all members of parliament to submit to a breathalyzer test before voting on any legislation, like on regulation of payday loans. Various levels of Australian government have had alcohol related scandals over the years; there are some that are seeking an end to it, or at least prevention of anybody being allowed to drink and legislate. Laws exist in the country that makes it mandatory for any and all crane operators to take a breathalyzer before they can begin work with the massive machines. Public transport operators have also called for random drug screening of members of parliament, stating that since they have to put up with the intrusion for the sake of the public’s well being, it is decidedly just as important that the legislators of the country do as well. This is all in the wake of a member of parliament who had to resign his post as a spokesperson for his particular party after he got drunk at a Christmas party, and apparently shoved a female colleague. Granted, that may not make him Ted Kennedy, but it is still reprehensible enough.
Seems fair enough doesn’t it? If you are a person whose vote could decide the fate of a country, or large groups of people and enormous sums of money, it would seem imprudent to imbibe in any alcohol or any other substances with intoxicating effects while you are at work. In fact, not very many professions in the world allow a worker, at any level, to be intoxicated at work, even if inside the legal limits. So far, Australian Parliamentarians seem to be somewhat receptive to the idea, though some believe that if it were to be so installed, it should be voluntary only, rather than mandatory.

Drinking while politicking isn’t unheard of, but it is still wrong

Now we’ve all heard of politicians that enjoy a tipple or two in their off time, and Winston Churchill was known to down copious amounts of brandy and smoke cigars until the wee hours of morning regularly (FDR was rumored to have to take several days to recover from his visits), but members of any government in the world should not be drunk at the wheel of their respective countries. The rest of us shouldn’t be drunk at the wheel of our finances, and if we have a sudden gap we need to fill, we certainly shouldn’t try to medicate our sorrows away – we can get payday loans.

Perhaps even the King of Pop himself could go for payday loans. Michael Jackson, who hasn’t released any new material since 2001, has gotten deeper and deeper into debt over the last 7 years. Even though he released the best selling album of all time (Thriller), and the only people who have comparable sales are Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and the Beatles, he has effectively been cutting himself (and his nose) off from the world, becoming the most high profile recluse since Howard Hughes, and the only attention he’s been getting consistently is for legal and financial trouble. Just recently, Jackson had to put even more of his property on the auction block to be able to cover his costs.

Gates of Neverland go up for sale

It was just announced that a five day auction of items belonging to Jackson will go up for sale in Beverly Hills in the month of April, and that included in the auction were the gates to his Neverland Ranch, which he barely avoided a foreclosure sale on, and the white glove featured in the music video for his hit song “Billy Jean.” He switched the title of the ranch from sole ownership (himself) to a joint ownership between him and a company he founded to run the ranch for charitable purposes, barely avoiding having the ranch sold out from under him as a result of insufficient payments, which some people avoid by getting payday loans.
Most of the attention Michael Jackson has gotten over the last few years has largely been on his legal problems, his invitation to and then eviction notice from the royal family in Bahrain, and now his financial woes. Jackson has been tried for child molestation, and just recently, he was sued by a member of the Bahraini royal family for a book and an album he was supposed to put out in exchange for living expenses and other treatment that he never delivered on. The parties settled out of court just recently.
Jackson has released several compilations since his last album of all new material in 2001, most of which hit multi-platinum status worldwide. To this day he continues to be one of the best sellers worldwide, even though it has been over 7 years since an original track has been released by the artist, and he hasn’t been on a tour of any kind since 1997. His other live appearances have been sporadic at best, not appearing in concert for over five years.

Sources say that he has lived beyond his means for years

According to the auctioneer, Jackson’s sale of personal items is not a forced one, and that he is just more or less cleaning house. However, many believe that Michael Jackson has lived beyond his means for far too long, and now it is beginning to catch up with him. Well, I’m not his accountant, but it would certainly look like he needs some extra cash. If that isn’t the case, then good for him, however, the rest of us have to live well within or below our needs, and spend wisely. Remember, if we have a drop in available funds due to a sudden expenditure – we can get payday loans if we choose to do so.

The people of the African nation of Somalia could do with some financial freedom, in the forms of payday loans or anything else. These people clearly need money, and some of them are willing to do just about anything to get it. The country is situated on the Indian Ocean coast of Africa, at the Horn of Africa near Saudi Arabia. Somalia has been in a state of turmoil for almost 20 years, and there are little signs of slowing down. Did you ever see the movie Black Hawk Down? That was about the beginning of their troubles, and things have just gotten worse from there. Somalis who live in and around the capital of Mogadishu live in one of the most hotly contested areas of dispute.

What’s so civil about war anyway?

Somalia has been in a state of near constant civil war since 1991, when the government at the time was overthrown. The situation degenerated quickly after that as hostilities grew along tribal lines that began to escalate out of control. The UN decided to act to quell the violence, but even with a mostly US led coalition of peacekeeping troops, there was little that could be done to stem the fighting between tribes and rival warlords. By 1996, the UN had withdrawn completely from the area to avoid further casualties without success. The country has been experiencing fluctuating levels of hostility ever since, and there has been little stability to be found anywhere, except out of various regions which are, even then, rarely stable by most other country’s standards. Attempts at central governments have been ineffectual at best, existing more or less in name only. Some industry exists in the form of agriculture and agricultural exports, but not much development has been forecast for the near future. Tensions and battles between both paramilitary and Islamic Law factions have been ongoing for over a decade, and show no signs of slowing.
In the absence of law and order, some Somalis have decided that a form of cottage industry was the way to go – piracy, in absence of other financial options like payday loans. Since Somalia is located on the coast, the opportunity to partake in one of the worlds’ oldest professions was a juicy one – the Gulf of Aden leads to the Suez Canal, making it one of the highest areas of maritime traffic. Just recently, a Saudi supertanker, the Sirius Star was taken, and her cargo and crew held hostage. The norm is for Somali Pirates to hold a crew and cargo hostage for ransom, and once paid, release the cargo and crew unharmed and absconding with the cash. The catch is that it seems to be working. In the absence of any social mobility, people are turning to crime – and doing well at it. They are able to purchase homes, keep a good supply of food, get more guns, bigger and faster boats, and also comfortably host their hostages. (Captives report nothing but hospitality – plenty to eat and drink, entertainment, access to communicating with their families, and courtesy from their captors, which is probably better _treatment than some of them get from their employers.) This is turning out to be the easiest form of upward mobility that Somalis have access to.

It may not last too long

In the wake of recent incidents of piracy, many countries are pledging the use of their Navy in order to guarantee the safety and stability of international trade and shipping by patrolling for pirates, and some pirate ships have already been sunk. If you are in a crunch and need money, don’t turn to piracy – call for payday loans instead.

As much as some clamor for it not to happen, quick payday loans to the Big 3 American auto manufacturers might not be such a bad idea. The 3 largest American automakers have been pleading with Congress lately to get emergency funds to keep them afloat during the current economic crisis, and it seems that they aren’t likely to get a scrap of anything until spring of 2009. Many people have been decrying these companies for years, and they deserve some of it, certainly – taking private jets to plead for cash to help out is in very poor taste, to be sure – but that doesn’t mean that one of the larger industries in America needs to be punished for executive irresponsibility. Remember, these companies are American in origin, and have made up the bulk of all cars and trucks sold in the United States for decades – do we really want to see another American industry go down the drain because we don’t like the people that head them?

The guys in the boardroom may stink – but we shouldn’t take it out on the workers

The Big 3 of Michigan have certainly messed up over the years – they gave us so many lemons like the Edsel and the Pinto, just to name two, and then they crammed the gas hog SUV’s down our throats with gas prices skyrocketing all the while, forcing people to get quick payday loans just to be able to drive to the bank to remortgage their home to fill up the tank. However, they still employ thousands of people that work in their factories, work with dealerships, designers and engineers, and financing staff. These are institutions of American industry, of American culture – two of the most famous sports cars of all time are the Corvette, and the Mustang, both made by GM/Chevrolet and the Ford Motor Co. There have been controversies, yet there have also been great triumphs. GM, Ford, and Dodge (a division of Chrysler) were all prolific producers during WW II, building tanks, planes, trucks, and equipment at an unprecedented rate that couldn’t be matched by any other nation in the world, even the efficiency obsessed Germans. Certainly, they were valuable then.

Just because they have grown decadent, doesn’t mean they can’t get back in shape
True, they haven’t exactly performed their best as of late. However, if they are allowed to die off, then there would be a loss of almost $200 billion in revenue each year, from each company – $600 billion taken out of an already troubled economic climate. That’s a recipe for disaster. Also, what about the 2-300,000 employees that makes up the total workforce of the Big 3? The unemployment rate is already up, and that many more people out of work of what are middle class jobs – Ford, GM, and Chrysler are union plants, and workers make over $20 per hour – would be a crippling blow to the economy of the entire upper Midwest. The manufacturing base of the United States would be all but gone, as small as it is already. Let us hope that our lawmakers have the sense to give them the quick payday loans that they need, because the emergency funds would do them, and the nation, some good.

Depending on your personal circumstances, funds these days can be tight. We are going to discuss whether payday loans are an appropriate choice in different circumstances. Primarily, most Americans have access to credit like credit cards, and some even have access to small loans from family or friends to get them through a tough spot. If this is you, then payday lending websites are likely not on your favorites list. That is typical for most people who do have other sources of short term credit and loans.

What about those who do not have the privilege of credit?

Many people, especially in this economy, are having a rough go of making ends meet. Are the families of these people any less deserving than those who have the privilege of accessing credit when their normal income fails to cover the budget? Some people actually think so, which is a real shame and somewhat of a shock to the conscience. Why would those with great incomes want to limit access to short term installment loans and payday loans?

Big business plays a major role in the media’s negative reporting on payday loans

If you are an average family you are likely very appreciative that gas prices have gone down in recent weeks. It is a relief that you don’t need to scramble to come up with gas money. For many, the high gas prices did not even touch their lives except when they heard others complaining about it. Most of the people who have control over what the media and the news report about the different lending options are influenced by large banks. Do banks have any influence in your personal opinions? Unimaginable, but those who seem to be living a decent life are usually in a job position where banks have a direct or indirect influence on their “official opinion.”

How banks and the media get into your home

Again, there are two types of people we are talking about here. The first is the average family that struggles from time to time with bills and the other family who didn’t even notice that gas prices were outrageous except in observation only. Those who make decisions about what goes in the news and what is on TV are paid by someone. Large banks control huge advertising budgets and therefore can influence what makes it into the news just by simple the principle of conflict of interest. The media has to balance the interests of their readers or viewers and their own pocket books.

Media favors the industries with the largest advertising budgets

As the average family, how is your perception of the payday loan industry shaped? Have you directly ever gotten a loan to avoid a budget emergency? Is your opinion based on direct experience or based on what you have heard. We all know where “they” got their expert opinions. Most people repeat pretty much everything they hear in person, on TV, radio, or what they read in the paper. The sad fact is that most opinion is influenced one way or another strongly against payday loans by the competitors of the payday loan industry.

Why are banks against the payday loan and short term installment loan industries?

Have you ever gotten 5 overdraft fees in one day? Have you ever been late on a car or house payment? How much did you pay? How long did you borrow the money for? I seriously doubt you paid less than a payday loan would cost. Banks rake in billion of dollars every year on these types of crazy fees on top of fees. Here is an interesting statistic, 60% of credit union profit comes from fees. The banking industry is one of the most powerful influences in the world on government policy and media opinion.

It is just competitive business tactics

The banks are not actually sicking the media on the payday loan industry because they are trying to stop a certain class of American’s from retaining their rights to short term borrowing options. They just don’t want you borrowing from anyone else besides them. Making sense yet? Big banks know that those who try to balance check books but also use debit cards are highly likely to mess up and overdraft their account every so often. They count on overdraft fees for existence. As a matter of fact, without these fees almost all banks would immediately go bankrupt and close down. The threat from payday loan companies is a matter of life and death for many big banks, especially those who wasted billions in bad investments and all the other garbage you hear in the news that they have been up to.

Now that you know the truth, are payday loans appropriate for you?

What choices you make about your private financial affairs is up to you. If you have read this far then you are likely an informed consumer anyway. It is important to weigh your needs and determine if you need extra cash to get by or if you can do without it. In the end, after time passes, doing without rather than getting a loan usually works out for the best. Payday loans are not really meant for convenience shopping or instant gratification purchases. If you are serious about protecting your family’s best interests financially, you will avoid unnecessary use of credit no matter what type it is. However, there are many situations where online payday loans can save you tremendous grief.

Payday loans can prevent family tragedies

There is nothing worse than having your family suffer unnecessarily. That is why the payday loan industry exists today. When you are going to have to go without food due to unexpected emergency bills or for some other reason you become short on funds, it is a huge privilege to have access to getting money directly deposited to your account in just a few hours. No questions asked! Your car could get impounded right after you paid all your bills, you could have a medical emergency, or any other situation you can imagine. If it were up to certain people you would only have access to 100 times more expensive forms of lending from them exclusively.

Everyone knows that using credit should be done responsibly

You know that money is to be used wisely. Common sense should let you know if payday loans or cash advances are right for your particular family budget. Payday loans are not drugs that make people sick if they don’t keep using them. Big banks would have you believe they are close though. The point is you know the truth and if you have read this far, you now see payday loans in the correct light. Keep the media from controlling your view point on matters of personal finance and credit. For those of use who have avoided emergency financial situations with these type of short term loans, we are happy to enjoy the privilege of accessing payday loans online.
