The Dow Jones surged Monday, reacting to a European Union instant cash loan for avoiding a European debt crisis. The Dow Jones today, in sharp contrast to late last week, rose more than 300 points Monday morning. The Greek bailout and fear that a European debt crisis could spread around the world had investors running scared last week. The stock market lost nearly 1,000 points Thursday when fear, panic and high speed trading triggered a mass sell-off of blue chip stocks.

Dow Jones today and European debt

Dow Jones today sharply contrasts last week’s dive as investors feared the $140 billion Greek bailout would trigger a European debt crisis, stifling a fledgling global economic recovery. The Associated Press reports that in recent months Dow Jones was climbing slowly and steadily on news that the economy has been growing three straight quarters and job creation is gaining. But the stock market dropped four straight days last week as volatility returned to Dow Jones today. Investors are skittish because big swings were common when the U.S. credit crisis grew in late 2008, and the stock market bottomed out in early 2009.

Dow Jones and the Greek bailout

The Dow Jones and stock markets around the world have been in turmoil as European leaders, despite the Greek bailout, appeared incapable of making decisions to keep debt-ridden countries from defaulting. Moody’s Investors Service reports that Greece may have its credit rating cut to junk within the next four weeks. Greece is already rated junk at Standard & Poor’s.

European debt crisis averted?

Dow Jones surged when European leaders were finally spurred to act on the European debt crisis as the euro dropped to a 14- month low last week. The 16 nations using the euro as currency agreed to offer financial assistance valued at almost $950 billion in loan guarantees from the European Union to countries under attack from speculators such as Greece, Portugal and Spain.

U.S. cavalry to the rescue

The U.S. Federal Reserve and other central banks also pitched in to keep the European debt crisis from becoming a global financial crisis. The New York Times reports that the Federal Reserve will begin printing dollars and exchanging them for euros to provide some liquidity for European money markets and banks. In a statement, the Fed said the currency swaps were intended to make it easier for European companies, institutions and governments to borrow dollars when they need them, “and to prevent the spread of strains to other markets and financial centers.”

Stock market rebounds with Euro

Dow Jones numbers grew Monday as the rise in the euro and a drop in the dollar pushed the stock market higher. A weaker dollar boosts the price of commodities traded in dollars because they become more attractive to buyers outside the U.S. A drop in the dollar also helps boost earnings at U.S. companies that do business overseas. As investors returned to stocks on Monday, U.S. bond prices fell. Gold also fell. Both surged last week as investors ran from risky stocks toward safer assets.

Airfares are not usually something one celebrates, but Jet Blue is offering some $10 fares to celebrate its 10th anniversary. These $10 Jetblue flights are only between a few cities, and are for a limited time, but can be a good deal if you’re lucky enough to need those flights. The same morning, Citigroup raised it’s Earnings Per Share estimate for Jetblue. Perhaps the best move is to get the $10 flight, then spend your instant cash loan on Jetblue stock.

$10 Jet Blue flights – really

First of all, you can, in fact, get a $10 Jet Blue flight ticket. Unfortunately, the $10 price tag only applies to a few flights into and out of a few cities. The fares are only good for May 11 and 12 and only available on the website. The $10 ticket price does not include the taxes and fees that must be paid on every airline ticket – so the final ticket price will end up closer to $30 each way. That’s still a good deal for Jet Blue flights.

Jetblue celebrates 10 years

This is the second time this year that Jet Blue has offered the $10 flights, and the company will most likely continue to offer these firesales throughout the year. These $10 flight sales help Jet Blue fill the empty seats — and create plenty of customer buzz. Generally, Jet Blue is marketed as a low-cost carrier, and is one of the only two airlines that does not charge for checked baggage in the United States. Jet Blue also offers programs such as extended legroom and all-you-can-fly passes for customers.

Jetblue Earnings Per Share

Jet Blue stock has been an interesting study in contrasts this year. First and second quarter results did not meet expectations of many investors. At the same time, Citigroup revised its EPS (Earnings Per Share) estimate for Jet Blue up this morning. This revised stock estimate is based on two things: reduced prices for oil and improved outlook for jobs in the United States.

Flickr photo.

Health care reform is inspiring corporations to dream up creative strategies that avoid the obligations required by the health care reform bill. A cold-hearted genius at AT&T may have found the ultimate way to make health care reform backfire on the law’s best intentions of eventual universal coverage. The new health care law requires companies to pay a penalty for denying employees health care. It may turn out that paying the government penalty costs far less than providing coverage.

Corporate health care reform maneuvers

The quest for universal coverage spawned the idea to drop health care benefits. Fortune reports that we know this because of other cynical corporate maneuvers over health care reform. When President Obama signed the health care bill, AT&T and Verizon made headlines announcing hits on their projected earnings of about $1 billion. Why? The health care bill ends tax deduction for the federal retiree drug-benefit subsidy. For corporations, this subsidy was an instant cash loan they didn’t have to pay back. The government gave them money they didn’t earn to pay for retiree drug benefits, which they were allowed to deduct from their taxable earnings.

The announcements by AT&T and Verizon that health care reform would cost them billions of dollars infuriated Congressman Henry Waxman. He accussed them of grandstanding to exaggerate the cost of health care reform on employers. As chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, he ordered them to turn over documents related to how they were dealing with health care costs.

Health care bill: unintended consequences

The unintended consequences of the health care bill are starkly outlined in the documents. Fortune reports that an AT&T PowerPoint slide entitled “Medical Cost Versus No Coverage Penalty” shows that 2009 medical costs were $4.7 billion. The federal penalty for denying coverage is $2,000 per employee. With 283,000 employees, AT&T would be penalized $600 million. By denying its employees health care, AT&T could possibly increase its profits by $4.1 billion.

Health insurance companies slither

After the health care reform bill passed, health insurance companies joined AT&T and Verizon in trying to weasel out of the law. It didn’t take long for Big Insurance to look for loopholes in the health care reform law. Starting Sept. 23, the health care bill will ban health insurance companies from denying coverage to children with pre-existing conditions. The New York Times reported on March 29 that insurance lawyers are claiming the bill’s “fine print” allows them to refuse to cover children with pre-existing conditions such as asthma, diabetes, orthopedic problems, birth defects and other illnesses. The insurance companies said the law only requires coverage for pre-existing conditions if a policy is sold–it doesn’t require the insurance companies to allow access to a policy. Riiiiiight.

Health insurance: profits or policies

Can companies be so cold-hearted to actually deny benefits because of health care reform? Fortune reports that companies say certain aspects of the health care reform bill will increase the cost of providing health insurance. Parents will be able to keep children on their plans until they are 26 years old, a benefit they say will cost millions of dollars a year. They also say they won’t be able to pass the full amount of a tax on “Cadillac insurance plans” on to their employees.

If companies like AT&T and Verizon can rake in billions of dollars in profits by not providing health care coverage, you can bet they will follow the money.

Perhaps it's time to stop making smokeless tobacco look like candy? (Photo: Flickr)

Smokeless tobacco poisoning has become “a major cause of infant and child poisoning,” reports WebMD. Between 2006 and 2008, a study of 61 regional poison control centers indicated that there were 13,705 tobacco poisoning cases in children less than 6 years of age. More than 70 percent were infants younger than 1 year old, says WebMD. Colorful packaging and small pellets that look like candy are likely contributors to the dilemma.

Smokeless tobacco poisoning – Are parents paying attention?

While cigarettes still lead the tobacco poisoning pack, instances of smokeless tobacco poisoning have risen considerably. Experts are distressed by new types of “dissolvable, compressed tobacco products that come in small pellets, such as Camel Orbs.” These orbs look like candy mints, and even have flavors added to make them taste similar to candy. The tobacco industry was not contacted for comment by WebMD, but if you don’t smell marketing to appeal to children in this toxic brew, you either work for the tobacco industry or put your pants on after your shoes.

Nausea, vomiting, weakness and death

Those are just a few of the symptoms children may experience after ingesting tobacco products, symptoms no parent wants to see in a payday loans-funded trip to the ER. According to medical researchers who contribute to WebMD, “the estimated minimal lethal dose of nicotine for children is about 1 milligram of nicotine per kilogram of body weight.” Smokeless tobacco poisoning is understandably easy to come by, considering that each pellet contains about .83 mg of nicotine on average. Pop a few and a child will likely need immediate medical attention.

Dr. Gregory Connolly of Harvard University says that the flavorings can contribute toward kids developing a taste for what they think is candy, as the sweetness masks the tobacco flavor. And of course, nicotine itself causes addiction. Thus, Dr. Connolly and many others in pediatric medicine are calling on federal and public health authorities to pay particular attention to this type of dissolvable nicotine products.

One death is too many

Not one more smokeless tobacco poisoning of an infant or youth should have to occur before the tobacco industry is forced to be accountable for how they market their products. But perhaps most significant here is what parents must do. Ideally, if you have children, you shouldn’t smoke or use tobacco products. However, if you do have them in the home, they should be kept far out of the reach of children. Needing an instant cash loan to pay for an ER bill because your son or daughter suffered smokeless tobacco poisoning is not something any parent wants to experience.

In 129 years, the Chatham County Courthouse has probably seen several historical events, but yesterday evening the Pittsboro courthouse fire turned the Chatham County Courthouse into a smoldering shell of its former self. The Pittsboro courthouse fire is receiving quite a bit of attention because the fire threatened tapes that reportedly show former Presidential candidate John Edwards in a sexual encounter. The Chatham County Courthouse was listed on the National Historic Register and had been undergoing renovations. Now, the county will need to look into easy cash loans to repair the building or build another.

Pittsboro courthouse fire threatened Edwards sex tape

The Pittsboro courthouse has lately been the center of an ongoing conflict for John Edwards. Official John Edwards campaign videographer — and Edwards’ mistress — Rielle Hunter apparently created this sex tape during the Edwards campaign. Apparently, at the time it was made Rielle Hunter was several months pregnant with John Edwards’ child.

John Edwards aide Andrew Young came into possession of the sex tape, perhaps hoping for an instant cash loan from the tabloids. In February, a hearing held at the Chatham County Courthouse found Andrew Young in contempt of court and he was ordered to hand over the tape, which he did. The John Edwards sex tape was then moved into a “secure location,” away from the Pittsboro courthouse fire.

Cause of the Pittsboro courthouse fire unknown

The Pittsboro courthouse fire began at approximately 4:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon, and it took fire crews more than an hour to control the blaze. The Pittsboro courthouse fire started in the attic, and the clock tower and third floor were “severely damaged.”

The rest of the courthouse sustained major water and smoke damage. Smoke from the Pittsboro courthouse fire was so thick in the rest of the town that the city of Pittsboro opened a temporary shelter for residents affected by the smoke. The courthouse was not completely destroyed, but it will take several weeks of investigation to determine whether the courthouse is worth rebuilding, or if it is no longer structurally sound. Until then, legal actions delayed by the Pittsboro courthouse fire will be moved to other, temporary facilities.

Most people outside of the NFL haven’t heard of the Wonderlic test, but with player’s scores recently making headlines, perhaps you want to find out what your Wonderlic score might be by taking a sample test? The full Wonderlic test is expensive enough that you might need an instant cash loan, so you should know what you’re getting yourself into when you have a Wonderlic score in-hand.

The Wonderlic Personnel Test

Clocking in at only 50 questions and 12 minutes, the Wonderlic Personnel Test was developed, according to Wikipedia, as a way for hiring managers to “assess the aptitude of prospective employees for learning and problem-solving in a wide range of occupations.” The test has only been updated once, in 2007, although Wonderlic Inc now offers over a dozen tests designed for both workplaces and schools. Like most standardized tests, the Wonderlic Personnel Test asks both multiple-choice and open-answer questions.

Giving Yourself the Wonderlic Sample Test

The contents of the Wonderlic test are closely guarded by the Wonderlic, Inc company that has built its name on the use of this test. However, you can find many Wonderlic sample tests online, including this one on Professor Money and a very extensive set of practice questions on Test Prep Preview. No matter what Wonderlic sample test you choose to take, it will be less expensive than getting installment loans for bad credit.

Interpreting your Wonderlic Test sample test results

The Wonderlic test was designed to be administered and interpreted by “an average office worker,” so understanding your own results should be fairly simple. The generally accepted formula to equate your Wonderlic Test score is to take the number of answers you got right on the 17-question sample test and multiply it by three. That creates a general understanding of your possible Wonderlic Personnel Test score. If you want to stop there, compare your score to either NFL position averages or a sampling of professions.

Getting more out of your Wonderlic Sample Test

If just having your Wonderlic online sample test score doesn’t feel like quite enough, you can extrapolate your score out to a general IQ equivalent. Take your 50-point test score, multiply it by 2, and add 60. With your IQ score, you can compare yourself to others or maybe even apply to be a part of Mensa.

If you have a mortgage that needs to be paid or a life-threatening emergency and payday is beyond the horizon, then an instant payday installment loan from the Personal Money Market is here to help.

A quick payday installment loan is more than just another option. It can act as a close partner during your most trying times. If used wisely, an instant cash loan can provide you the fullest benefits without being a heavy burden. In times of trouble, it is always hard to borrow from people that we know; no matter if they are our sibling, parent, or friend, since many people would rather not strain their relationships. In that case, a short term installment loan is an essential tool.

How a short term installment loan works

You needn’t be apprehensive about a payday loan if you use it responsibly. An easy installment loan is provided by a payday loan lender to help people get back on their feet again, at their greatest convenience. The lender does not enforce the full repayment of the loan right away, so setting aside a small amount of payment lets you flexibly manage your money resources once more.

Life can be very hard. But with my payday installment loan…

I have always thought of myself as extremely hardworking. I work around the clock just like everybody else. Even so, sometimes it is not enough because I do fail to meet some of my goals from time to time. I have recently found out how hard it is for an ordinary person like me to get out a huge financial mess without going for a guaranteed loan. The best option for me was to go for a short term installment loan. In more ways than I can list, taking out this instant money has helped me survive.

So the next time you end up in a bind like me, look no further than this article to grab your own opportunity to apply for a payday installment loan.

Anyone who runs the risk of getting into trouble with the IRS can easily take out an instant cash advance to curb this problem.

To avoid the hassle with paying off your taxes obviously requires that you have the money to do so. It is also important to pay on time and not wait until you receive a warning letter in the mail. If you think you may not be able to pay your tax bill on time, then you should reconsider using a payday loan. There are numerous instant cash advance lenders online who can accommodate to your needs.

Advantages of taking out an instant cash advance

Applying for an instant cash loan nowadays can be done in a flash with the increased options available for you like payday loans without credit checks and online faxless payday loans. The best thing about taking advantage of quick cash lenders is that they never require unneeded paperwork, so the chance of getting your instant cash advance approved is almost 100 percent. Money lenders are everywhere and the choices are wide, but if you want to look around and see which one has a better offer, then look no further than an online money lender site such as Personal Money Market.

What to expect with instant cash advance

Getting a quick cash loan requires that you be 18 years old and receive regular paychecks. The amount that you can take out for an instant cash advance can vary from $100 up to $1,500 and can be paid 15 or 20 days starting from the loan’s release. In the event you have trouble paying off the cash advance, your lender likely has a program to help borrowers avoid delinquent payment, such as an installment payment plan that fits your income.

There is an instant cash advance for people with bad credit

Borrowers that have a bad credit rating normally would not be granted a loan, but payday loan lenders are so flexible that they usually offer faxless or no credit check options, so finding the right loan for you is no longer an issue. Truly, for those tax payments and all your money borrowing needs after tax day, an online instant cash advance is what you should use.

The Associated Press reported today that the finalists in the first round for federal funding under the Race to the Top program are: Colorado, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Incentives of $4.35 billion

Race to the Top is a $4.35 billion incentive program created by the Department of Education to encourage progressive reforms in state and local district K-12 education. Much, much larger than the largest possible instant cash loan, and larger even than a whole boatload of payday loan companies, $4.35 billion is a large sum of money.

Funded as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the program was announced by President Obama in July, 2009. Forty states and the District of Columbia applied for funding under Phase 1 of the program. The winners selected from the finalists listed above will be announced next month. Winners under Phase 2 will be announced in September.

Selection criteria

In descending order of weighted importance, selection criteria for funding under the program include:

Techniques to improve the quality, distribution, support and effectiveness of teachers

Articulation of reform agendas, capacity to implement reforms, and progress in raising achievement levels

Development of common standards, transition to enhance standards, and implementation of assessments

Cultivation of high-performing charters and prioritization of education funding

Intervention in and turn-around of lowest-achieving schools

Implementation and use of statewide longitudinal data systems

Prioritization of science, technology, engineering, and math

Voluntary changes at state levels

According to Bloomberg.com, many states took immediate action in connection with their applications for funding to improve their educational systems. Illinois, for example, removed the cap on the number of charter schools the state allows. Although it failed to make the cut, and despite growing concerns about tying teacher compensation to student performance under high-stakes testing laws, West Virginia proposed a merit-pay system for teachers based in part on student achievement. Massachusetts cleared the way for children attending low-performance schools to enroll in charter schools.

Stern opposition

Despite the fact that many states have made significant changes in an attempt to satisfy application guidelines, Race to the Top has met with stern opposition. Texas Governor Rick Perry summed it up when he told news sources that Texas would not be applying for Race to the Top funding, saying “We would be foolish and irresponsible to place our children’s future in the hands of unelected bureaucrats and special interest groups thousands of miles away in Washington.” Teachers unions have also opposed what they view as unwarranted interference by the federal government in matters of education.

A tight race, as promised

Secretary of Education Arne Duncan had said all along that fewer than half the states applying for under the program will receive grants because their proposals are not stringent enough. That promise has is now corroborated by today’s narrowing of the race to 16 states.

Everything hinges on an Instant Cash Loan

Everything hinges on money, or in my case, the lack of money. Life is always easier the first few days after payday, before the dry stretch until the next payday sets in. Sometimes, with payday still almost two weeks away, I get so consumed worrying about what I’m going to pay or do first once I finally get my next paycheck, that it’s worth it to me to get a personal loan and be done with the issues.

When I’m preoccupied with how I’ll catch up once payday arrives, it’s hard just to function. It’s hard to get work done, hard to be a mom, and hard to enjoy being home. It’s hard to sleep and even harder to get out of bed.

Some things are worth more than the cost of an Instant Cash Loan

When my life gets like this, and I know that I can manage comfortably on my next paycheck after paying back a small personal loan, I apply for one. Once I know that extra cash is on its way to my bank account, I’m able to focus at work, enjoy life, and sleep at night. For me, keeping my cool until payday is worth more than the cost of an instant cash loan.

It’s easy to get an Instant Cash Loan online

Nothing to fax

No credit check

Bad credit, no credit, bankruptcy, and foreclosure okay

Installment loans for bad credit

Loans of up to $1500

One short application instantly finds the best loan

Funds deposited directly to your bank account

Paid back automatically on an agreed schedule

Quick, hassle-free loan-approval process

For me, an Instant Cash Loan is a better budgeting tool than a credit card

It’s not that I make a habit of getting instant cash loans, but a cash advance from time to time makes all the difference for me. Getting an instant cash loan to cover an unusual or unexpected expense is no different from using a credit card, but for me, it’s a better budgeting tool. With a cash advance, I’m not tempted to buy things I don’t really need and there’s no surprise at the end of the month when the statement comes, like there can be with a credit card.

Sometimes I really do balance the budget with an Instant Cash Loan

I live on a tight budget and obviously I can’t control when extra expenses come up. It’s not like I can tell my insurance carrier not to bill me now, but to wait until the third week of this month when I know I’ll have money left over after paying the mortgage and utility bills. So rather than worry about it, I borrow money now and pay the insurance on time. Then I pay the loan back with the extra cash I knew I’d have left over on payday.

Getting an instant cash loan is worth avoiding late fees or an interruption in my insurance coverage. Balancing the buget? Sure, it worth getting an instant cash loan to do that. But forget the budget, what’s really worth it is the peace of mind.

Do Reebok Easytone shoes work?

Image from Flickr.

There’s a lot of hype surrounding the new Reebok Easytone shoes, which boast that they can help firm up your gluteus maximus. Reebok Easytone shoes retail for $99 to $109, so the hundred-dollar question is: Are Reebok Easytone shoes worth it?

With the holidays so close, it’d be silly to go out and get an instant cash loan so you can buy them right away. You should probably ask for them as a gift instead. However, before you do that or go spend your own hard-earned money on Reebok Easytone shoes, make sure you know what you’re getting into.

Pros: science points to effectiveness

The basic gist of how Reebok Easytone shoes work is that they are constructed for creating instability or making it harder than usual for the wearer to maintain balance. It’s pretty well-known that maintaining balance requires muscle tension and thus creates more developed muscles.

So the idea behind the Reebok Easytone shoes checks out; it appears logically sound and feasible. However, it’s not a quick fix. These shoes won’t help you suddenly shed pounds and develop a perfect posterior. Walking is walking, and until the walker develops more muscle — which will take awhile, even with the shoes — calories won’t burn much faster than walking alone. So, Reebok Easytones shoes are step up from regular walking on the fitness scale, but not a huge step.

Cons: One-trick pony

While the instability-creating soles of Reebok Easytone shoes are the key to power walking, the Reebok web site cautions buyers against playing sports or basically doing anything other than walking or running in them. This is because being off-balance is a very bad thing if you’re jumping or moving side-to-side in a fast-paced game such as tennis or basketball.

So, while Reebok Easytone shoes cost the same as high-end cross-trainers, they can’t be used for the same purposes. If you are considering getting Reebok Easytone shoes to replace your regular athletic shoes and you often participate in sports, I say don’t do it. Stick to regular shoes and be comforted in the fact that if you’re regularly participating in sports, you’re way ahead of most of us in the calorie burning department.

If you plan to use your Reebok Easytone shoes for walking only, it’s just a matter of cost versus result. Understand that results will be gradual and only slightly superior to regular walking. So if $100 is small potatoes to you, it might be worth it.

Quick Application with Same-Day Approval

Many persons who first apply for cash loans when short-term financial emergencies appear upon the horizon are quite pleased and surprised to find not only that they can make a quick application and be approved the same day for a same day cash loan. They may also receive the needed funds in their checking account (on the date of approval).

The funds distributed to a same day cash loans borrower may be repaid as soon as the applicant’s next paycheck. However, be advised that the terms of the payday loan will vary from one lending source to another.

We All Need a Lifeline Now and Then

When you are seeking same day cash loans you will need to access funds through stores and sites dedicated to cash advance services. PersonalMoneyStore.com is a good choice for you. For any individual that finds him or herself in a financial emergency circumstance, same day cash loans can prove to be a financial lifesaver.

Same Day Cash Loans: Simple to Apply!

E-book reader market expands

How much longer will these be around? Image from Flickr.

We all saw it coming. Well, at least people who are even mildly interested in e-book readers saw it coming. The Barnes and Noble Nook has entered the scene as the next big contender in the market for devices used to electronically read books.

A few other companies have or will attempt to produce an e-book reader that will knock Kindle out of the first-place spot when it comes to sales of e-readers, but experts say the Barnes and Noble Nook just might do the trick.

How will Barnes and Noble Nook win?

Engadget dubs the Barnes and Noble Nook superior to the Amazon Kindle, but its only piece of evidence is the fact that the Barnes and Noble Nook has a feature that lets people lend out books. While this does mean the Barnes and Noble Nook is closer to simulating a real book, will it be enough to get people to spend the $259 to buy it?

While an e-reader isn’t the type of thing people get an instant cash loan for, I predict these will be very popular Christmas gifts. I think parents who want to find creative ways to get their teens and tweens to read will be all over these things. The question is, which e-reader will parents choose?

Price wars

The Barnes and Noble Nook retail price, $259, is $20 cheaper than the price of the latest Kindle model. That $20 difference might just be the winning factor, as the two products are very similar, besides the fact that Barnes and Noble Nook lets you lend out books and Kindle doesn’t.

Kindle has a keyboard built in below the reader screen, while Nook has a touch screen that lets users use a virtual keyboard when they want to do searches. Kindle has a longer battery life and a text-to-speech feature, but will that be enough to get shoppers to spend the extra $20?

Rumor has it the Barnes and Noble Nook will be for sale online and at Best Buy on Thursday.
