Yes, today has been a day of learning about “exciting” new products. I regularly advocate on this blog that people don’t use their payday loans for trivial expenses, and I am dedicating this blog post to pointing out things that no one needs, ever.

Why am I writing about handerpants, the magical underwear for your hands, and other things that you should not waste your money on? Well, because I think it’s funny. I can’t even believe that handerpants are real.

Of course, handerpants aren’t meant to be the next life-changing product. They are made by a novelty company, Archie McPhee & Co, which also sells candy floss, flavored mints and bacon soap. UTalk writes:

This infomercial is almost too good to be true. The ad lists all hands from all walks of life that will actually get use of out this new fashion accessory such as architects, night bloggers, old people, gastroenterologists, construction workers, chefs, Twitterers, Ninja’s with delicate hands and magicians!

The punch line, for me, is that these things cost $12, and people actually do buy them.

A Snuggie for your puppy

I have always found the Snuggie commercials entertaining, and the idea of a blanket with sleeves. Of course, deep down I secretly want one. Oops, I guess it’s not so secretly anymore.

But now Snuggie has come up with a product that is even closer to the top of the list of items you don’t really need. It’s Snuggie for Dogs! Yep, you can check out  the commercial, which advocates that you wrap your little fur ball in a blanket with sleeves. It’s not really different than an oversized dog sweater, and it can be yours for just $14.95! And it comes with a dog tag that lets you record a message on it!

Do you suffer from a tired tongue?

I always thought those rotating lollipops were silly. You know, the ones where you can switch it on and it turns the candy for you, for easier licking? But I suppose that product has survived because it’s fun for kids. But take this idea an apply it to an ice cream cone.

Japanese Face Slimmer

I don’t even know where to start with this one, so I will let Pallab explain:

If you thought the sauna belt was bad (and it is bad, mind you..melting the fat – literally is just not possible), then wait till you have seen what the Japanese have come up with. The face slimmer is a hideous mask that claims to slim down your face using contact pressure and sauna! So. finally we have a product that’s capable of burning your skin and crushing your bones together.

Britney gets knocked on Amazon

I am sure this item will be up for debate, but on one Amazon.com user’s list of “most useless products ever,” the number one spot goes to Britney Spears’ album “Oops … I Did It Again.” I would probably put that new laundry device that combines the detergent and the dryer sheet in one at the top of my list of most useless things. But everyone has their opinions.

So, just to review, do not spend your payday loan on Handerpants, Dog Snuggies, a motorized ice cream cone, Japanese face slimmer or a Britney Spears album.

Another Round of Bad Shopping Habits

The third of the more notable books in Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic series is entitled Shopaholic and Baby, where main character and ultimate shopaholic Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) is happily married and pregnant with her first child.  Though the previous novels demonstrated how Becky was able to wean herself off her neurotic spending habits and learned a lesson or two in managing her finances, this new installment shows how old habits just keep coming back.  Specifically, now that she is with child, Becky resorts to even more justifications regarding her shopping rituals and credit card use.  For first-time mothers, it is easy to relate to Becky’s logic; however, wanting to give your baby the best need not run toward frivolity and envy.

Only the Best for Baby

Becky’s notorious materialism reaches greater heights in this novel, as she is pictured on the quest for the handsomest celebrity home with a shoe room to boot, as well as engaging the services of an A-list obstetrician.  Of course, her daily shopping sprees also move to a higher level—while hunting for the most coveted designer baby clothes and shoes, she just has to find matching outfits for herself.  Though her antics are fun to read and laugh at, it is difficult to believe that such a person exists—unless we’re talking about new celebrity moms like Nicole Richie or Jessica Alba.  Or maybe even Britney Spears a few years back, assuming she wanted to do things other than shaving her head.  A regular mom-to-be with enough financial resources would still be reasonable in adjusting to her new condition and preparing for that much-awaited arrival, yet might find herself in a bit of a situation born out of excitement and anticipation.  Doctor’s appointments, medication, and extra expenses to cover the baby’s needs are expected, which will continue well into the baby’s birth.  While plans for the baby’s future may already be under way, the immediate concerns may run over any set budget.

Happy Payday

Times like these don’t need to be stressful, and you certainly don’t have to deprive yourself or your baby.  For emergency expenses, or when the budget just won’t cover everything you need, take out payday loans.  But remember, the important thing here is to know your priorities; thinking Becky Brandon-style just won’t do.  You will have to list your priorities, and these should only include what you need, versus what you want.  Or, if you are confident that you will be able to pay off the loan realistically, you can very well add on a few extras and conveniences that will make the upcoming event a bit more special.

A $6,000 dollar raise is pretty outlandish, but it looks as though Jamie is doing a better job as a dad and financial advisor. After a couple years of turmoil and questionable behavior, Britney Spears seems to be making a comeback. Britney’s new CD Circus debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard charts. Britney also begins her world tour this spring, and ticket sales are already through the roof. A hit CD and big ticket sales should give Jamie Spears a little more work.

Britney Spears has done it again with her new debut album “”Circus” which sold more than half a million copies in the last week. Circus topped debut weeks by other popular artists such as Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Maria Carey and Beyonce.  Clearly, she won’t need payday loans for a while.

Pepsi, finally decides to sign the rising star onto a two year contract in 2001 just before she releases her third album called “Britney“.

On The Television And In The Movies

2002 found Britney all over the television as she makes another appearance on Saturday Night Live and has a whole hour of the “Oprah Winfrey Show” devoted to her. 2004 marks the the release of Britney’s forth album “In The Zone“, her marriage to Jason Allen Alexander that was annulled fifty five hours later, her marriage to Kevin Federline, her chewed gum which is put on Ebay by a fan, and a her new fragrance called “Curious” which smelled of musk and vanilla. She also releases the greatest hits collection called “Greatest Hits: My prerogative“.

Britney’s Fame Surpasses That of the Oscars And Causes Britney’s Neighbors To Move.

Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson’s fame is surrounded by so much publicity that they are reportedly banned from attending the Oscars for fear of them stealing the show and the paparazzi has become such a prevalent part of Spears daily life that her Malibu neighbors have to think about moving, and getting payday loans to get their house packed quickly.

Britney is back. Today marks Spears’ 27th birthday, and she celebrated in style; Britney performed the hit songs “Womanizer” and “Circus” from her new CD “Circus” on Good Morning America. While the live performance was a real treat for Britney fans, the best part of the morning was Britney’s announcement that she will be going on a world tour next year. That is great news for fans that have been anxiously waiting for five long years for Britney to go back on tour. Britney’s tour begins March 3rd, 2009 in her home state of Louisiana—New Orleans, to be precise. For all you die hard Britney fans, tickets for her new world tour go on sale in just a few days—December 6th.
