Look down the road to create a successful business strategy. Image from flickr

Most times, businesses find it just as difficult to secure short term loans as it is to apply the strategic planning models that they’ve set up for their business’ success. Writing a strategic planning model at first glance can seem difficult, but it is actually quite simple to do. It is very crucial to the success of your business to make sure that you are working in strict accordance with your strategic plans.

Step 1

An important place to start would be to draft up a mission statement, which is a general statement about the purpose or reason your company exists and what type of services you provide. For example, if you were going to create a mission statement for a financial adviser business, it might say “Finance World provides taxpayers with assistance in preparing their business finances, offering a painless process that results in a more successful fiscal year in revenue.”

Step 2

Sometimes, if we try to take care of too many things at once, we can get lost in the hustle and bustle of taking on so many activities. To make sure you keep yourself on track, you must break down your mission statement into smaller mission statements called goals.

Goals are basically meant to aid your company in succeeding in your general mission statement or to stay afloat as a company. Sit down and brainstorm about what purpose you want your business to hold. Maybe in your mission statement it says “Be profitable within three years.” To accomplish this you’d break down the major goal into many smaller goals to achieve the outcome that you want.

Step 3

Developing strategies will surely help you reach each of your goals. Just like when deciding to acquire short term loans for your strategic planning business, you must put in an adequate amount of time in doing so. After all, if you plan on starting a strategic planning business, you must be able to use your own business skills on your own establishment.

You could decide, for example, that your strategy for profitability within three years might be to “Extend finances to increase market penetration for the first year and then push a pretty profitable product on our wide customer base.”

Step 4

Next, it’s a good idea to develop action plans for each strategy that you come up with. To develop action plans for your strategies, you must write down all the precise steps necessary to attain each piece of the strategy. Think of each step as a finger on a hand, and when it’s balled into a fist it represents a strong strategy.

For example, having your graphics team design a fresh logo, your advertising team design ads with that logo, your marketing team suggest free premiums by way of those ads, and your database manager collect the names and e-mail addresses of individuals who uses those premiums, could be represented as, “increase market penetration.”

Step 5

Considering whether or not you utilized short term loans, the last step would seem to be the easiest, since most of the work is accomplished before this point. However, this step involves combining the above four steps to your daily business operations and being devoted to keeping up with the lists of goals, strategies, and action plans that you created.

Never let your documents collect dust and cobwebs. Check in on them occasionally to make sure that you are on the right track, following your goal plan to positive, successful and effective strategic planning.

The 80/20 Rule

<img class="size-medium wp-image-51154" title="help abridge your finances in 6 easy steps" src="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/help-abridge-your-finances-in-6-easy-steps-166x300.jpg" alt="Simplifying your finances doesn't have to be difficult. With these six simple steps, you can get a better handle on your money. (Photo: flickr.com)

When it comes to the 80/20 rule, I’ve been applying it to everything in my life, especially in regards to subjects such as financial stability and debt relief. When it comes to my home, work, car, clothes and even my wallet, I have been trying to get rid of all the subterfuge and hold on to the necessary components.

Understand that we use 20 percent of our things about eighty percent of the time, and 80 percent of our things 20 percent of the time. When you realize this, it’s best to whittle down to just the 20 percent that you use and live without the remaining 80 percent. You could relate the same example to your finances. Here are a few simple ways to diminish your financial problems.

Step 1 – Remember Your Checkbook Register?

Yes, I am talking about your checkbook register. You can use it to track every deposit, check and debit card purchase. You will eliminate worrying about overdrafts. You will be totally aware of what’s in your checking account. Also, you don’t have to carry the check register around with you everywhere you go. You can leave it at home or even in your car. Just make sure that you update it with your receipts once a day, just to stay abreast of your daily spending.

Step 2 – Limit the Number of Credit Cards You Own

Break down and keep only two credit cards in your possession. One card should be used for things such as groceries and recurring monthly bills, while the other one should be used for personal expenses such as gifts, gas, personal items, etc. Soon it would be a good idea to just abandon the personal card altogether and stick to the idea of spending saved cash instead.

Step 3 – There is Potential in Automatic Bill Pay

Try setting up bill pay through your checking account and then forget about it, save when it’s time to update your checkbook register. You can set the account up so that your bank pays your bills as opposed to your bill collectors withdrawing money from your checking account. This is a nice way to keep control over your account, as well as make your monthly bill payments flow more smoothly every month.

Step 4 – You Should Be Paid First!

This has to be everyone’s number one favorite financial tip. The concept is steeped in truth, and gaining more widespread acclaim. Who wouldn’t want to pay themselves first? The concept simply means that whenever you are paid, you transfer money to your savings account before you pay anyone else any money. For example, if you are paid $450 a week, it would be in your best interest to put at least $50 in your savings account immediately. This helps to keep you from worrying about spending money you should have saved.

Step 5 – Stay Away from Advertisements

We could definitely steer our way into debt relief after realizing all of the advertising that prompts us to spend money. How many times have we purchased a product that we claimed to love, only to see an advertisement for something else, and say to ourselves, “If only I had that…?” It’s not a very good thought to dwell on, but advertising wizards are paid mega bucks in order to brainwash potential buyers. Never assume that you are stronger than these individuals and can withstand their lures of purchasing ecstasy. Try to avoid sitting through television commercials, and reading ads in magazines. Remember that the fewer ads you see, the less tempted you will be to pull out your wallet.

Step 6 – Simplify, and Buy Only What You Need

It’s a very good idea to buy only when you need it. Contrary to what most frugality fanatics might say, I would advise you to purchase only what you need while you go shopping. Say, for instance, you saw a good deal on some eggs, but you normally don’t eat eggs a lot. It would be pointless to purchase something, even at a reduced cost, that could possibly go to waste. You could also eat healthier but just buying two to three days worth of food. The results are that you’ll spend less money and you won’t find yourself overeating, which in itself could possibly lead to the need for debt relief.

(Photo: flickr.com)" width="300" height="225" />
Making serious CPA affiliate cash depends upon your ability to focus and not give up. (Photo: flickr.com)

It is no surprise that hundreds of thousands of people are flocking to the Internet in order to acquire a cash advance, but what’s more interesting is that many more people are seeking the “gold mine” that Internet marketers are speaking about. But you have to have a game plan for trying to garner online revenue. One great way to generate good income online is through affiliate programs. These affiliate programs, through Web sites such as Clickbank, offer CPA programs (Cost per Action) as opposed to CPC (Cost per Click).

But before you join the masses and flock online to make mass amounts of money, let me give you five tips that will help you realize your dream of making money through Clickbank CPA affiliate programs.

Learn More, Earn More

Make sure that you are educated about whatever affiliate programs you wish to participate in. Remember that you wouldn’t take your car to a mechanic who isn’t well educated. Simultaneously, you wouldn’t have a doctor check on you with knowing he’s employed at a reputable hospital or has sufficient degrees. Even though you might not be offering the product, you will offer a link or conduit to the product, and your knowledge of the program will incite a potential buyer’s urge to click on your CPA links and buy away!

Labor? Small, but Yes…

Make sure that you prepare to put in the work needed for success. It’s not enough to sit around with folded arms awaiting lots of money from your affiliate programs. There are no lazy, quick money ways to generate income, and if you come across an opportunity that claims to offer quick schemes, it will scam you. That’s a promise.

You must be ready to nurse your business just like you would a newborn baby. You wouldn’t dream of neglecting your child, so why would you forget about maintaining your business, which could include office space, Web site(s), service models and offers. It’s not difficult to realize that the affiliate marketing business model is intensely strong, and if you don’t apply, you’ll simply be pretending to have success instead of having it.

Put on the Blinders, Stay Focused

Never give up. You can’t buy a miracle cure to fix online financial woes, but you can remain persistent to overcome stumbling blocks. The entrepreneurs who have landed success within their chosen fields went through tough times and heartache. The biggest mistake a person can make when working on their businesses – online or brick and mortar – is to give up. The failures in life are the individuals who give up on their dreams when it stops being easy. Hard work is what separates the amateurs from the professionals.

You Can’t Make Money Without Money

Try not to take your money and blow it on anything except your business. When your business’ money runs out, your doors will most likely close. Take as much money as you can, when you can, and invest it back into your business. What has been discovered and cherished by true businessmen is the fact that a business will grow stronger because the entrepreneur’s own finances were invested. Even taking the time to apply for a cash advance loan to help your business could help. Of course, when a person adds their own money to their passions, it seems to promote harder work. You could also refer to this as the law of compound interest, the stuff millionaires are made of.

Clickbank Success

You can discover huge Clickbank success just by searching the Clickbank website. Try to affiliate with products on the website with gravity above 150 and a nice returns percentage below 5 percent. It will also be in your best interest to earn more than $30 commissions to get paid more for your efforts. If you utilize these tips, you will most definitely wind up with more success, and enter the gold mine of Internet income streams that others are discovering for themselves. And if you still need a little assistance, never hesitate to apply for a cash advance loan.

The Trick? Saving!

If you take control of your money and credit cards, you'll find smiles during the recession.

It’s no secret that the world seems to need a large collective cash advance loan during these difficult financial times. What seemed like merely an American problem has began to take on a global scale, with banks being at the nucleus of the financial collapse. Banks have caused a sufficient amount of trauma over the world, whether from their unfair bank charges, over-paying, or over-lending. While we can’t magically make the financial issues of the world better in an instant, we can perform individual activities to help steer clear in a time of such seeming darkness.

There was a time when shopping was a great excitement. However, now it seems that a person is always asking, “Do I absolutely need this?” for fear of spending more money than they have. Another question that they often ask is, “Will I have a need for this money later on?” These two questions seem to be the main concern of a lot of Americans, and they can really put a downer on your shopping experience. But they are important questions that need to be answered if we want to stay afloat in this period of economic crisis.

Been Renting? Think About Buying

Believe it or not, there are more than a handful of housing incentive programs out there for when the economy is in the state it is. These incentive programs help first-time home buyers. In some cases, you would be mind boggled to see the cost difference of a mortgage versus the money being shelled out for rent. And then, in other cases, there isn’t a huge difference between mortgage and renting. Well, the main difference is that with a mortgage you have acquired an investment.

Be Cautious with Credit Cards

If you happen to be blessed with credit cards or loans, make sure that you use them wisely. The biggest mistake that lots of people make is they assume they should use their credit because they have it. This is a huge mistake. Try and cement in your mind that you have your credit cards for emergency purposes only. If you see something that you like and want but can’t afford it, waiting and using cash might be easier than pulling out those credit cards. The last bit of advice regarding credit cards is that it’s best to pay off the full balance of the card each month so that you can avoid bank charges at the end of the month.

Craft a Personal Budget

You want to make sure that you always have a realistic budget, setting aside something from your paychecks each week that can be saved. This doesn’t have to be difficult at all. You simple take out five to 10 percent from your check to save for emergency issues. Your major goal is to make sure that you survive throughout the recession that we’re in. If you save up some money for yourself, your chances are better. If you need the help of credit cards or cash advance loans, then you have to do what you have to do. But passing on the rented movies, eating out, or new outfits in order to save money is the best choice.

You never know who you might meet – or who might need personal loans for new transistors! (Photo: Wikipedia.org)

In most any business, networking usually helps secure money now. Think of it as a personal loan. Be a friend to others and they’ll be a friend to you. The music industry thrives on the connections made between old colleagues, business associates and bosses. The sports, publishing, science, movie and fashion industries all require networking for everything to run as smoothly as possible to create entertainment for you, and in other cases, legal solutions you wish to solve.

Be Friendly

You want to try and always make friends with people who are around you. If there is someone who is sitting next to you or standing at the bar beside you, spark up conversation and chat with them. If you happen to know the person who you are around, solidify the relationship that you have and keep your energy bubbling. Of course, you don’t want to come across as too excited, but be willing to talk with people, because that’s how networking and developing contacts begins. If you aren’t sitting next to someone at any given event or during a monthly visit to pay a bill, get next to someone who you would like to meet.

Become an Early Bird

Arriving early gives you the opportunity to greet people and develop closer relationships. Besides, who feels liked when they rush into a meeting seconds before it begins? Get yourself a cup of coffee or bottle of water, relax and temporarily turn your job title into that of a host. Also, staying later is much tougher for people, since they usually have to run out immediately after the meeting, so get in good by getting in early.

Meet New People Through People You Already Know

If it isn’t much trouble, ask one of the people you know to introduce you to new people they are currently speaking with. The more people you know, the more chances you have at any possible thing in the world. When people remember you, they tend to provide you with opportunities that they come across. “I thought of you when I saw…” How many times have we heard that expression from friends and associates? If you are someone who doesn’t like to meet new people, you will risk losing out on experiencing different places, ideas and people.

Use Down Time Effectively

Some people might say, “You can’t get money now by sitting down.” However, for networking purposes, down time can be used effectively. While going to the bathroom, many of my friends – some of whom are top networking businesspeople – have scored new clients via phone. Another one of my friends landed a high five-figure deal while on break at a coffee shop. Every possible moment can be used to network and connect to new people who can provide new business.

You Must Give in Order to Get

You have to give people a reason, other than your own passion for your business, to contact you. Just handing someone a business card isn’t enough, especially in a day and age when people can obtain mostly anything that they want quickly. Sadly, it takes more effort to get someone’s attention. A smile and dazzling personality are great icebreakers, but they alone can’t do the job, unless you use those “gifts” well.

Networking doesn’t have to become a nine-to-five job for you. You can network while walking your dog, or while mailing envelops at your local post office. Just keep in mind, like personal loans, networking can get you money now!

What to Do and What NOT to Do

There are certain things you just don't do during an interview.

You might feel as though hiring managers want to hear about how you’ve been struggling, just took out a cash advance for fast cash and need a job now. However, they could care less about any of this during an interview. Unfortunately, job seekers have committed such interviewing blunders, says the annual survey of the worst interview mistakes at CareerBuilder.com.

You don’t just have to act in awkward types of behavior to ruin your chances of getting a job. When asked to name the most damaging and common interview mistakes a job candidate could make, 51 percent of hiring managers listed dressing inappropriately. Forty-nine percent named badmouthing former bosses as the worst offense, while 48 percent said that appearing disinterested was their deciding factor. These were just a few of the reasons listed, some more among them were not asking good questions, insufficient answers and arrogance.

For your convenience, I have listed 10 actual mistakes that will draw out what not to do when you take a seat across from the hiring manager at your next interview.

Oh, No She Didn’t!

There was once a candidate who answered her cell phone in the middle of an interview and asked the interviewer to leave his own office because it was a “personal” conversation. This should never be done under any circumstances. You must not forget that you are being judged, whether you like it or not, from the moment that you walk into the doors of the establishment. So, make sure that your cell phone is turned off during an interview, or at least put on vibrate or silent.

Don’t Provide TMI

A guy filling out an application for a job told the interviewer that he probably wouldn’t be staying with the company long because he was expecting an inheritance check when his uncle died, and “he looked half-way to death at the moment.” He finished by adding, “I just need some fast cash to pay off some debt.” This is not the information that a hiring manager or interviewer would like to hear about. If you plan on not being at the company very long, and can’t supply a date when you plan to leave, it’s best not to apply for the job at all.

Arrive Prepared

One candidate asked the interviewer if they could catch a lift home after the interview. Chances are, if you don’t know someone you wouldn’t want them riding in your car after just 30 minutes of bonding time. Make sure that you are prepared before you arrive to the interview, and that means securing a ride there and back.

Express Yourself – But Not Too Much

There was an applicant who lifted each of his arms and smelled his armpits before entering the interviewing room. Needless to say, make sure that any issues regarding personal hygiene are taken care of before you go to the interview. Interviewers logically think that if you are unsure about your cleanliness at an interview, you will be the same way if hired.

Don’t Lie

There was an interviewee who told the interviewer that she couldn’t provide the company with any writing samples due to the fact that all her work was previously for the CIA and marked as “classified.” Who knows if she actually worked where she said she did (and her resume should have listed it), it was still not the information that is shared at an interview. As a professional, a writing sample should have been drafted before entering the company’s doors. As stated above, always arrive to an interview prepared.

Know When to Keep Thing Professional

Never do what one candidate did and tell the interviewer that he was fired for beating the crap out of his former boss. This is the type of information that makes an interviewer respect his honestly, and thanks the heavens he can cast your resume off to the side. Though the information you’d like to give might be true, ask yourself if it belongs in an interviewing conversation.

Keep the Vices at Home

An applicant was offered some cookies, food and refreshments before an interview and declined them, saying with excitement, “I can’t line my stomach with that grease before I get drunk tonight. I’m getting ripped!” While everyone has their own personal vices, it’s not good to mention the ones during an interview that could lessen your chances of getting the job.

Prove You Should Be There

At an interview for an accounting position, an applicant said that she wasn’t a “numbers person,” she was a “people person.” I’m sure the statement didn’t make a positive impression with the interviewer. Make sure that you can prove to the person interviewing you why you are there and what your skills can bring to the company or business.

Even Over the Phone, Be Polite

During a phone interview with a hiring manager, one interviewee flushed the toilet. As you can guess, the hiring manager didn’t call the candidate back. Make sure that you are professional and polite at all times. First impressions could be lasting impressions, in some cases.

Groom Yourself BEFORE the Interview

The applicant waited until the middle of the interview to take a comb from her purse and give her hair a touch-up. While some might not find anything wrong with keeping up appearances, there is a time and a place for it. You don’t want your hair, clothes, body odor, or brute honesty to lead you towards a fast cash advance or another unemployment line.

Need a cash advance to keep up? (Photo: flickr.com)

Psst! Hey you, cash advance reader! Want a great holiday deal on a flat screen television? Visit Amazon.com where it’s on sale. Hold on a moment. Look at Walmart.com, where they just dropped the price. No, wait! Amazon actually has the better price.

Prices have fallen faster than J.Lo at the American Music Awards as these two retail behemoths go toe to toe. It seems the battle began over who could sell a fistful of best-selling book titles for less, and has now proliferated to a wider array of items—DVDs, furniture, clothes and yes, flat screen TVs. Wal-Mart and Amazon are also currently allowing third parties to sell on their Web sites, and are now also offering beauty and health products via the Web.

After hearing that GSI Commerce Executive Vice President said, “It’s not about prices of books and movies anymore. There is a bigger battle being fought,” you might conjure up a David vs. Goliath type of scenario. “The price-sniping by Wal-Mar is part of a greater strategic plan. They are not just going to cede their business to Amazon.”

Online Shopping is Making SOMEONE Richer

Believe it or not, Amazon made $20 billion in sales last year, compared with $405 billion for the nation’s largest private employer, Wal-Mart. Though online sales amount to just four percent of the nation’s retail business, Web-based sales are steadily rising.

Online shopping has gained popularity at a fast pace, kind of like cash advance loans during the recession. The blog “Seeking Alpha” says, “Twenty-one percent growth has been seen in the last year. Amazon’s sales were up 24 percent in the 3rd quarter of 2009.” Also, 44 percent for general merchandise and electronics, reports the Times. What’s amazing is these numbers were gathered while retail was flat overall and the recession was just dying down.

Yet CNBC says that Wal-Mart is receiving only half as many unique visitors to its Web site each month.

Look at them Go, Toe to Toe!

CEO of Walmart.com, Raul Vazquez, told The Wall Street Journal, “Our goal is to be the biggest and most visited retail Web site. Walmart.com is going to be the ‘Wal-Mart of the Web.’”

“The price of Amazon Prime is too much. It’s only a matter of time before Wal-Mart becomes the king of online shopping,” Vazquez is reported saying to the Times.

How are consumers benefiting so far? Take a look:

Books

Target (a Minneapolis-based company that isn’t owned by the French, dear reader), Amazon and Wal-Mart reduced the online price of 10 brand new releases to less than $9. Since then, prices have gone up, but they are equally as inviting to holiday shoppers. At Amazon and at Walmart.com, the price of Sarah Palin’s “Going Rogue” is a sale $14.50, while Barnes & Noble sells it online for $17.30.

DVD Movies

Target, Amazon and Wal-Mart have lowered the pre-ordered online price for hit movies like “Star Trek” and “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince,” which are sold at Amazon for only $9.99 and a penny less at Walmart.com.
UPDATE: Target is “Out of Stock” presently

Video Games

According to the Times, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,” is priced to move. Wal-Mart offers a $15 gift card with purchase, and Amazon has quickly followed Wal-Mart’s lead.

Observing the Carnage

What’s next in the future of these retail giants? It’s too hard to tell right now. They won’t need a cash advance loan any time soon. However, what we can expect is that Wal-Mart will be über aggressive in risking a bigger claim on online retail.

When “Bribery” isn’t a Dirty Word

Tipping some fast cash makes a big difference in the service you receive now and in the future.

In almost any situation, I’ve found that tipping is the best investment you can ever make, aside from investing time in filling out a cash advance loan application for emergency fast cash. Anyone who has ever spent time in a bar knows that a dollar drink is all the fuel needed to receive the quickest service on the most hectic of nights. I’ll even tell you about a great risk-free system that, when utilized, can score you complimentary upgrades, if, let’s say, you want a nicer hotel room.

I’m no maverick when it comes to experiencing the benefits of tipping, hence the reason I’m not a master of tipping etiquette. However, the insights I am about to give you can change your thinking about going beyond the call of duty, financially.

Create a Relationship with Tipping

You’re put ahead of any non-tippers, because when you tip someone, you develop a relationship with that service provider. A dollar at the bar or a few bucks for the attendant who brought your bags to the room will reap rewards. Give a tiny bit more than 10 to 15 percent on the restaurant bill. Remember, a tip almost always puts you ahead.

I used to work as a busboy and I would work shifts with a complimentary bar in the evenings. A guest’s waiter or waitress could go to the bar and get a drink on their behalf, or the guests could get it themselves. On that particular night, I made around $90 in tips inside of four or five hours. Oh, and my tips came from a whopping four people!

Sometimes That’s All it Takes

It wasn’t as if they drank like relapsing alcoholics; they were simply very generous people. One guest in particular gave me a $20 tip, and though he didn’t tip me again and I wasn’t his waiter, I sporadically stopped by his table every time I walked by. Yet another guest would constantly ask for drinks and then tip me $5 each time that I waited on them in an hour’s time span. Keep in mind that I was merely a busboy and not a waiter. I got a tingly feeling inside when a guest asked for five shot glasses of E&J and then handed me a $10 and $5 bill for the trouble. These are especially the people you go back to, to make sure they are 100 percent taken care of.

On the other end, my friends and I will traditionally go to a restaurant that is delightfully affordable and incredibly quick, transferring fast cash with the speed of a tornado. Since it’s so affordable, a 20 percent tip is always given, because the bill is always so low (an average of $7.50 for dinner per person). The result is that the wait staff knows us by name, is familiar with our orders and is quick to deliver them. In a half hour, we can easily enjoy our lunch and leave.

Relationships are Given Rewards

Often times, you are separated from the pack in a person’s mind once you create that relationship. Keep in mind that while you’re not a stranger, you are also not a friend. Therefore, when it comes time to decide which person to help, go with the one you are most familiar with.

Sometimes, Bribery isn’t Such a Scary Word

The truth of the matter is that you’re bribing someone to give you more favorable treatment. If you didn’t know, I’ll tell you that anyone who leaves a tip knows it’s both a present reward and a teaser for your future visit. Though it’s tradition to leave 10 to 15 percent on your bill, you should leave 20 percent when great service from someone you like or someone you know is delivered.

Invest in your Future – TIP!

The reason you leave a 20 percent tip is because it is an investment for the next time your visit that establishment. You’ve almost guaranteed great service on the next visit because you’ve noticed and rewarded great service from the past. Even when exhausted, I’d carry over a round of beers to a table because they were just so kind and giving to me.

Seems the gist of the tipping motto is: if you desire, say, a nicer hotel room, give the good old “$20 Trick” a go. To perform the trick, you put a folded $20 bill underneath your credit card inconspicuously, and slide it over to the front desk attendant. Ask if a complementary “upgrade” is available while you work the trick. In most cases, the $20 is returned to you if there aren’t any complementary “upgrades” available. Sometimes they may just keep the tip. Suck it up and keep it moving.

“The $20 Theory of Our Universe”

For those of you gawking at the $20 for a room upgrade technique, wait until you read about what Mikal Brooks wrote in a Cheaper Peeper article entitled “The $20 Theory of Our Universe.” When Mikal goes traveling, he packs a few twenties with him, and then finds out what he can get for it. He gets cheap car detailing, upgraded airplane seats (paying the customer and not the airline), and many other $20 “upgrade” techniques.

Hopefully I’ve convinced you or reinforced the notion that tipping is actually a good thing. In many ways, just like fast cash, a little can certainly go a long way. Your comments about tipping secrets and skills can also go a long way, so feel free to share.

Just how much of a cash advance could you give someone in need? (Photo: flickr.com)

As I was walking downtown after finishing a few errands, I spotted an older man standing near the entrance of a cash advance store. The guy looked like your typical homeless man, seemingly underfed, sloppy and weary-looking as he held up a sign that read: “Homeless. Whatever you can spare will help.” So, I placed one dollar and some change in his hand, and said, “I wish I could give more. Just be careful.” To my comment, he replied, “God bless you.”

Just then, a cherry red two-door Expedition revved up, the sunroof open, letting the pale sunlight reflect off of his male pattern baldness. With a pair of sunglasses on, I couldn’t get a good glimpse of his eyes. I could certainly hear him shout, “Sucker!” as he drove pass me.

I Meant Well…

I guess I could be labeled as a sucker. Yes, it’s true that I knew nothing of the man’s back story, and I offered him a dollar and some change. Yes, it’s true that for all I know he could be a drug addict, homicidal maniac, or a Level 3 sex offender roaming the streets.

If you’re wondering where you should give, check this out:

Who’s the Sucker?

When I got home, I told this story to my niece. With a wrinkled brow she observed, “You’re the sucker and he was driving an SUV with gas at almost $5 a gallon? He probably took out a cash advance to get that hunk of liability.”

Her comment made me laugh, but I contemplated over the incident many times over the rest of the day. While waiting for the bus, I’ve heard many people speak about a dude who regularly “works” a corner in my neighborhood. The general comments or remarks people make about the guy has been, “What a scam!”

What People are Saying

I read a thread on the talk-show host Michael Baisden’s message board (See: http://www.michaelbaisden.com/). Some respondents over there were harsh, titling beggars as “bums” or assuming that “most panhandlers are just lazy. They are a little too lazy to get a job.”

It discourages me when I hear generalizations like “most panhandlers.” There is no way we can know what “most” of a group thinks, feels, is or is not.

Hardened Hearts

Of course the notion is that some of these people panhandle instead of a “square” job. This story is often ludicrous. You might have even heard a story or two about “affluent beggars.” However, I’m extremely skeptical that people would choose to stand around outside in all types of weather with no possible guarantees of any financial gain.

It isn’t impossible that some beggars are alcoholics or drug addicts who reject treatment. You might not want to in good conscience help a person kill himself – right? I have a few family members battling alcoholism, like lots of other people’s family members.

Remember, His Shoes Could Fit Your Feet

The man or woman holding the beggar’s sign might not be very different from you or me. Could be that he/she was laid off or had no other place to go after being evicted. She could have gone flat broke while beating cancer, only to be left high and dry because no one will hire her now.

Maybe because these same circumstances can happen to us, we harden our hearts. The reality of the situation hits too close to home.

Harming or Helping?

Sure, there is a likelihood that the money I have given could be spent on either Dollar Menu items or junk to feed an addiction. Truth is, I have no real way of knowing.

What I do know is that the guy in the SUV stayed in the comfy confines of his pricey vehicle. He didn’t even slow down long enough to humanize himself and look me or the beggar (someone “beneath” him) in the eye. It seemed to me that the SUV man forgot that he was a human being at some point and time in his life.

What’s Can I Afford to Give?

The uncomfortable recession we’re in might affect how much extra money we can spare, sure. Lots of Michael Baisden audience members spoke about barely making ends meet themselves, saying, “We can’t afford to give.”

I suppose I shouldn’t be giving away cents, let alone dollars, technically. I have no car, bills due and I make a living freelancing (unpredictable income). I should be tending my own yard, sort-to-say, rather than someone else’s. Truth be told, I do tend my own. I barely need cash advance loans at times. However, once my basic needs are met and I’ve put something up for a rainy day, there is money left over. Whatever IS left over goes to family and friends… oh, and strangers on the street.

(Photo: flickr.com)

This past week has presented me a series of minute irritants, including but not limited to an almost constantly empty gas tank, constant rain, a 30-article deadline and making a 30-minute trip to interview someone for an article only to find out that my contact cancelled and informed nobody. My car was of course running on fumes that day, too. Just like me, needing installment loans. A mixture of thoughts involving current due bills and the hot deadline haunted my every waking minute.

An After-Work Treat

Once I got home and peeled my drenched jacket off of my shivering body, I was prepared to lock my doors, turn out the lights and sob quietly in the dark. Instead, I ordered some takeout.

Though it seemed unusual to make such an action during frugal times, it was well worth it. As I type these words, my belly is full of Bambino’s Pizza and Subs. I bought a chicken sub that made me want to coo like an infant and dance in place with delight. Not even the $15 with tax stopped me from tipping the delivery guy $5, more than a 25 percent tip to say, “Thank you for bringing me din-din in the pouring rain.”

Being the only true frugal way to dine, the other half of the sub—enough for lunch the next day—went into the fridge. I couldn’t lose my grip on frugality completely, could I?

Dear Frugal Readers, Be Not Ashamed

Some of my more frugal readers may be “tsk-tsk”-ing at my behavior, asking, “Why didn’t he pull out those trusty leftovers from the freezer and pantry to save money?”

Well, I’m human, dammit. Every six months or so, a person gets tired of 50 cent cans of soup and oven/microwave meals. That rainy day, I simply wanted someone else to cook dinner for me. The thought of installment loans didn’t cross my mind, because I had a little wiggle room in my pocket, so I knew my budget wouldn’t implode like the house in “Poltergeist.” The extra space in my budget was also due to me beginning to give up my car, vehicle insurance, oil changes and gasoline.

A Trick to Stick to your Budget

Once in a while, a great way to stick to the budget you’ve created is to search around in it for occasional treats. These personal gifts don’t have to be expensive at all. A cup of coffee a ways from home, new scented candles, some bath salts or a few rented movies (you can also rent movies for free from your local library) all feel dangerously luxurious.

It’s been so long since I last ordered takeout, let alone had it delivered, and that’s a large part of why it seemed like such a great treat.

Don’t Worry, Be Full

Having a spastic splurge every so often is actually a great way to take interleaves from all the frugal talk. In some cases it even sharpens our frugal focal points. Once we learn to combine daily money saving tactics with an occasional vacation from frugality and thoughts of installment loans, we’re that much healthier. Just make sure to come back after that pizza, coffee or matinee – the daily grind couldn’t go on without you!

Much safer than running into a credit card ninja at night! (Photo: marines.mil)

Credit cards lead to the many success stories when traveling around the Web, uncovering the answer to an often taboo question: Is the Web really making money? 2009 offline and online retailers expect to see a 1.8 percent increase in 2009 sales, according to the Retail Compass Survey of 100 chief marketing officers at leading retailers.

Is the Internet Making Money During the Recession?

Most major retailers offer online shopping, particularly because they accept credit cards. Cheryl Schmidt, owner of Taste of Toledo Gift Baskets and Gifts, is a business owner getting steady interest from the help of the Web. “About half my sales come from my Web site,” Schmidt says. It’s not that all her sales come from online, but many people use her online store as a catalog to call in orders or go to the store if they live in or near the Toledo area. Taste of Toledo offers Christmas-themed gifts this time of year. The Toledo and Ohio Gift Basket remains most popular during the holidays and even year-around.

Online Shopping Can Be Dangerous; Keep Yourself Safe

While shopping online is more convenient and safer, in most cases, than shopping in a store, never let your guard down. The BBB (Better Business Bureau) offers tips for online shopping, some include:

Trust In Your Instincts

If a gut feeling makes you uncomfortable about bidding on or buying an item online, or if you feel more pressure than an ant under an elephant to place an order quickly, you should probably avoid buying from the Web site.

Gain Knowledge of Web-based Auctions

The worst thing to do is jump directly into a Web-based auction without checking out the important details. Take the time to get familiarized with not only the rules and policies of the auction site, but with all the legal terms involving warrants, refund policies, etc. of the seller’s item which you would like to bid on.

Do a Double-Take with Prices

If you stumble upon a wonderful Web site offering the best looking laptop computer for $50, red flags should wave. Be careful, keeping in mind to watch out for prices that seem too good to be true. It doesn’t matter if the product is being sold as new or used, the price should coincide with the item you’re planning to purchase. If you aren’t sure, do some online research. This could also confirm your decisions to use discretion when shopping online with credit cards.

Find the Privacy Policy and Read It!

It’s very important that you read the privacy policy to find out what information the seller is going to try and collect from you, how the information will be used and how you can stop the process. If you search for the privacy policy link somewhere on the seller’s home page or included with the legal terms (where it should be located) and find nothing, don’t do business with them.

Be Alert and Check the Connection

After you’ve drooled over the things you wish to buy, you might want to pull out your credit cards and click on the “buy now” button. But before you give your payment information, there are various icons and software programs that indicate security software is in place on the Web site. You want to see what level of encryption the retailer uses, as well as whether their credit card security is associated with a company like VeriSign. If all is in place, you can relax and buy with ease.

Inspect Your Purchase When It Arrives

Once the item arrives in the mail, examine it carefully. If you happen to notice any problems, contact the seller in writing immediately. Tell the seller what’s wrong with the product, being as detailed as you can. Also, ask for repairs or a refund, and keep a copy of your correspondence.

Pay the Safe Way

The safest way to pay for anything on the Internet is by using the Visa, MasterCard or Discover logos; or, simply put, credit cards. In the event of fraud, card issuers have security methods in place that consumers can use.

Working multiple jobs, using payday advance loans – these are realities for many people. (Photo: flickr.com)

People hate working eight hours a day and coming up short on their bills. Luckily, a payday advance loan can help. Unfortunately, a second job is the only answer for many families trying to get by from week to week. Imagine those individuals who go to their full-time jobs, then turn around, smile, and head to another job. The economy today is tough. Many people need second jobs and some workers have no choice in the matter.

Two Paychecks for Bills, Wants and Needs

Betty Sher, a full-time assistant for a Chicago-based law firm and part-time liquor store associate said, “I work two jobs, I need money in this economy. My full-time check goes toward my student loans, bills, and other things, like my car payments. My second paycheck goes towards the things I want and need.”

Sher is one of millions of people who are working two jobs. According to recent data collected from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 33.6 million people were working part-time in November of 2009. Out of close to 40 million individuals, 7.1 million were working part-time for economic reasons.

The Economy Took A Nose-Dive

Janona Filous accepted a part-time executive position for an Atlanta-based commercial cash lending company. She also accepted a decrease in pay, which she says, “was completely worth it.” However, she knew she had to start saving money, so she took a part-time job as a sales associated for a local Gap, where she works two to three days a week.

“When I started working at the Gap, I knew the economy was going to nose-dive, but I didn’t think it would be this bad,” Filous says. “I had to get a payday advance loan when one of my payments came two weeks late. I can’t explain how grateful I am for both my jobs, but it doesn’t make the situation any brighter.”

Is a Second Job an Obligation?

Marcy Miller, owner of Lasting Careers, agrees that many people are working to increase their cash flow. “People have to deal with the usual cost of living expenses, but as the job market worsens, more workers are taking salary cuts and dealing with layoffs of a spouse or partner,” Miller says. In order to make ends meet, whether or not to take on another job might not be a choice, but a requirement.

Miller explained that others might take on part-time opportunities to increase their skill set to become more marketable within the work force. “But the larger percentage of people who take second jobs for finance reasons can find relief meeting monetary obligations by working a second job.”

Full-Time Job and Full-Time Mom

Rebecca Saunders has been working two jobs simultaneously since her husband was downsized 17 months ago. During the week, she works as a full-time community manager for a nonprofit membership association. On weekends, evenings and holidays, she works as a freelance graphics designer. Saunders, who is also a mom of three young children, says, “It’s often challenging and stressful working all the time.” Constantly working requires her to be very organized and efficient at managing her time wisely.

Thinking of adding a part-time job on top of your current full-time job, or are you doing that already? Well, here are four tips on how to make working two jobs work in your favor:

Don’t Overwork Yourself

Depending on what you are doing, “There are plenty of ways to make money online that don’t require hard labor or long, demanding hours,” says Nickie Zeigler, a certified life coach. “If you possess talent in writing, try and find some freelance gigs. Do whatever you need to, but don’t burn yourself out.” By finding a second job that doesn’t demand too much for you, you’ll avoid overloading your system.

Find Jobs that Coincide with Each Other

Gracie Stevens is a full-time professional decorator who owns her own company called Saveis, and works part-time as a blog writer for a fashion Web site. “It’s a great way for my business to get exposure,” she says. This is simply a small way that you can make both of your jobs work for you and each other.

Give Yourself Some “Me” Time

Dave Crenshaw, author of “The Myth of Multitasking: How Doing It All Gets Nothing Done” says, “You need to budget your schedule adequately so that you have enough time to recharge your batteries.” Crenshaw says that holding down multiple jobs is great for short-term cash flow, but in the long-term it can be detrimental.

Work with, Not Against Your Schedule

Jonathan Cole worked full-time for a fishing company and needed help paying off some debt, so he found a nonprofit company looking for someone to telecommute whenever possible, as long as it was 15-20 hours per week. “I’d put in eight hours at the other job. Oh, and then I also worked at least one weekend shift,” Cole says with a laugh. “I made sure I took a night off here or there to do something fun, so I didn’t get too stressed.”

The conclusion brings a somber realization that while a second job or a payday advance loan can help, they can’t be relied on repeatedly. “Consistently work on long-term goals. You don’t want to work two jobs forever,” Filous says. “Plan, set goals, and get organized.” How and when you reach your ultimate goal is determined by taking baby steps each day until you’re closer to your goal.

Customer service is important, but don't let it drive you to needing a personal loan to pay a doctor. (Photo: flickr.com)

Long-time solo professional business owners have always experienced ups and downs with their business. They’ve all had debts to pay like most business owners do, and most have received a personal loan to help out. Aside from financial obstacles, they’ve also likely come across every type of customer you can think of, some who bring a liability called stress. You know the type; they threaten to sue over a $5 item they bought on sale because they claim that the product is broken. They’re the ones “calling the BBB to shut your business down” because, in some way, you breeched the privacy policy. There are also light-weight scammers who shamefully abuse money-back guarantees.

Be assured, you won’t have to deal with these types of customers on an everyday basis, but you will have a few Naomi Campbell-type customers, possibly throwing cell phones and such. In case you do run across brutally difficult customers, I have a few simple techniques for dealing with the occasional irate customer so you’ll stop thinking about charging them extra for “nut case” insurance.

Remain a Calm Solo Professional

Nine times out of 10, a customer will try to attack you on a personal level. If you are not careful, you could get into an argument. This could lead to everyone yelling and shouting. The situation doesn’t get resolved, and that makes everything worse. Try to stop the eruption of disaster by killing all anger with kindness. If the customer doesn’t calm down, simply ask them to leave and come back when they’ve cooled down and can communicate more reasonably. Calmly set boundaries and never let anyone cross them. It might not feel like the nicest thing to do, but you must refuse to speak to an outraged customer. Never forget that you are never obligated to put up with abuse.

The Customer is Always Right… Not Always

Customer service trainees are taught that the customer is always right, and that can be true in many situations, but not all. Sometimes, they are completely wrong. Accommodate customers within reason, but don’t simply give them what they want every time. Their demands can be very stressful on you and your business.

Don’t Blame Yourself

A customer could have been having a bad day and wanted someone to take their frustrations out on. In the event that this sort of situation occurs, listen to their ranting and yelling, then respond kindly. If you use this one technique, you are sure to dissipate any brewing customer service problem. Tell the customer you understand that they’re angry and that you’d like to work with them to resolve their issue once they’ve become calm.

Dealing with Customer’s Legal Threats

Sometimes in customer service, solo professionals will do anything to avoid the potential harm of a customer’s threat. Some lose money or risk giving in to irrational demands in the process. Take a moment to consider how logical the threat sounds. Do you really think someone is going to pay thousands in legal fees to sue you over a $50 product? I don’t think so; they’ll wind up in debt. Again, do what you can to assist the customer, but do so within reason of your set boundaries.

Know When to Let the Customer Go

You’ve heard that a happy customer will tell one person about your business, but an unhappy customer will tell five or more. Word of mouth spreads faster than a wildfire and could drastically boost or crush a business’ success. Word of mouth is the root of the phrase, “The customer is always right.” If you can salvage the relationship between you and the customer, do so. However, if their business is too outrageous, send them packing to the next solo professional. After all, it’s not worth the headache rolling over for a customer who has the words “debt of problems” practically written on their forehead, is it? If it means you need an extra personal loan now and again, that’s OK. What you gain in reduced stress level is priceless.

After you have penned your latest manuscript, edited it and polished it, you might say, “I want my book to bring in cash today!” But first, you should create an author Web site with your book cover, blurb and an excerpt. You want to create something that will attract constant and future readers. Here are a few book marketing techniques to bring readers to your Web site and encourage them to buy what you’re selling: your book.

Links to the Web

Post the URL of your Web site into as many other Web sites as you can think of. Initiate link exchanges with authors who write in the particular genre that you do. Don’t forget about Facebook, MySpace and Twitter; post your URL on all of your social networking pages, in your E-mails and as a signature in forums. This is, by far, the easiest and quickest way to direct readers to your Web site.

Create Time Square Banners

Create bright and colorful banners for your author Web site and any other blogs or Web sites that you own. Adding pictures or a symbol to your banner is a great way to garner more interest. Add a tagline or logo and a name and/or Web site URL. Also be sure to make the banner click through to your author Web site. Banners can be compared to billboard advertisements, in that you can create different shapes and sizes and have the flexibility to add them anywhere on your Web site. Imagine that your banner is one of the advertisements in New York City’s Time Square. Place your banner where the most traffic is on your Web site to attract the most attention.

Create a Book Web Site

Build a Web site that is solely for your book and its characters. These types of Web sites are primarily used as promotional tools, because you can discuss new developments with your books. This is especially attractive when it comes to a serial. Try not to limit your creativity; after all, imagination doesn’t require you invest cash today in order to create. Post character bios, short stories and even pictures. You can also offer to continue the story online for free, which is a great way to increase traffic and sell your book. The more creative you think, the higher your potential sales will be.

Book Interviews

Participate in and conduct interviews with fellow writers and authors to gain exposure on their Web site when they publish the interview, and vice versa. During the interview, try to showcase some charisma, excitement and life. Talk about your characters and their motivations. Discuss your past books and upcoming ones while giving your opinion on the writing process. Oh, and sell your book in the process!

Blogs and Guest Blogging

It’s a very good idea to start a blog so that you can discuss your book, characters and your views about the writing process. It’s not difficult to start a blog. The two most popular free blogs on the World Wide Web are Blogger.com and WordPress.com. The difficult – yet tried and true – trick when it comes to blogging is to provide useful content for your guest readers while not shamelessly self-promoting your own book. After all, not many people like sitting through commercials. Most definitely invite a guest blogger to your site to share their knowledge and provide useful information. In turn, their guests will visit your blog, which will bring an increase in traffic to your blog. What are you waiting for – somebody to do it all for you? Go get your cash today!

The Basics of a Cash Advance

With our country barely struggling to survive in the face of a potential repeat recession, it’s relieving to know that a cash advance is fairly easy to obtain. When seeking emergency fast cash, there isn’t as much technical mumbo jumbo as people would think. You simply give the cash advance lender a current pay stub from your place of employment and provide a post-dated check from your bank account. However, there are a few minor details regarding the cash advance system that you should know.

The Lender is Not Responsible for Your Actions

The decision to get a cash advance loan should be used sparingly, because it can get out of hand. Lots of people scream and yell that cash advance lenders prey on the financially weak. Why yes, a cash advance looks affordable at first glance, but charges can really add up over the course of a few months. To make sure that you don’t end up sounding like other people with tainted cash advance experiences, or accuse cash advance lenders of predatory lending, here are seven tips to consider before getting a cash advance loan:

Getting Started with a Cash Advance

Be aware that the amount of money you receive from the cash advance will be considerably lower than the amount you write on your personal check. Of course, all of the finance charges ensued will be deducted from the cash advance based on the terms agreed upon between the borrower (you) and the lender (cash advance company). The check you write should have the amount of the cash advance, as well as the finance charges administered. Be alert and wise when it comes to the finance charges, because they can rise if the loan is not paid back by the time you and the lender agreed.

Have Enough Money for Repayment

You should place enough funds in your account so that you can cover the check amount you wrote. This will give you a reassured feeling that the money will be where it’s supposed to be, and the lender won’t have any troubles collecting repayment. However, if you don’t have enough cash to repay to the lender when the time comes, two options are considered: the lender could suggest that you renew the cash advance; they could also suggest that you consider another cash advance with a new amount. Keep in mind that new cash advances come with separate finance charges and additional late fees. These figures all add up to new and higher cash advance repayment amount.

Your State Could Make you Repay a Cash Advance in 30 Days

There are various state regulations that cover cash advances for only a 30-day term limit. Of course, this makes lenders use discretion when issuing cash advances, and some will not exceed 30 days for the borrower to pay back the loan. In this case, you become financially bound to repay the cash advance or rack up higher fees. To avoid any problems, the best thing to do is make sure you’re able to repay the loan within two to three weeks.

Cash Advances are for Financial Hardship

Cash advances are primarily useful when you run into financial hardships. A noticeable trend of most people has been to “roll over” the cash advance. Results with this particular trend reveal that majority of individuals pay back rollovers more than the original amount. Another result is that there is more pressure for you to repay the loan for more money.

Lender Decisions Aren’t Just Based on Financial Income

It isn’t surprising that cash advances are set up to be obtained by borrowers whose finances fall into lower income brackets and people who can’t get quick cash from other financial sources. Luckily, cash advance lenders rarely base their decision to lend on a person’s financial income; as long as they are able to repay the loan, chances are they’re approved.

Automatic Rollovers

Picking up on the subject of rollovers, cash advance lenders will sometimes automatically roll over the cash advance. There are other lenders who have agreements through contracts that restrict the borrower’s rights to clear the debt via bankruptcy filing. Other types of suits against the cash advance lender may also be covered. Keep in mind that cash advance lenders use these contracts to make sure they receive the money they loaned. That is perfectly logical reasoning.

The 3 Pros of Cash Advance: Easy, Hassle-free and Tempting

Cash advances are typically viewed as a last resort. Whenever a person needs cash now, they should use more spending discipline to make sure they don’t end up applying for another loan directly after receiving the first one. Hopefully, your conclusion on cash advances should now add up to three pros: they’re easy to get, hassle-free and very tempting. So use them with caution – and good luck!

(Photo: Wikipedia.org)" width="225" height="300" />
Companies like Orange may make "high definition" a reality for Americans soon. (Photo: Wikipedia.org)

When the former Soviet Republic of Moldova aired radio advertisements featuring an assortment of emotional calls, the start of a technological wave began to spread. “This is the world’s first high-definition cell phone system that carries voices that are full of raw, human emotions, not tinny or muffled-sounding speech,” says Liudmila Climoc, chief executive of Orange Moldova wireless carrier.

Cell Phones Have Come a Long Way

Back in the 1990s, quality of cell phones left something to be desired. Of course, those were still the early stages of mobile technology, and things would only progress. Events regarding cell phones changed, however, when cell phones made the shift from analog to digital. The cell phone industry promised that the switch would create better, crisper sounds, and unfortunately they didn’t deliver on the promise. Over the years, cell phone companies began to improve the added amount of capacity, but not the quality of the phones.

More Capacity and Less Quality

The growth of cell phone usage has grown by 30 percent within the last year. Now, customers seem to be looking for more than packing a bunch of calls into cell airwaves. It seems that Americans are expanding on the capacity strategy, offering all sorts of data services that will utilize all the growing capacity. Eventually, the U.S. will catch up with Moldova when we realize that the cost of better sounding voice calls is cheap enough to avoid a cash advance, but not to ignore.

No More Talk-Time Lag

North America still has a small ways to catch up. The U.S. carriers convert calls into 6,000 digital bits per second, which is the reason for the horrible sounding quality. The French wireless carrier Orange uses double the U.S.’s number of bits. When more digital bits are passed per second, the highs and lows of the human voice are not so badly curtailed. It is truly voice in high definition.

Another good thing to point out about high definition calls is that they will eliminate that annoying lag between the moment that someone speaks and when the sounds reaches the other person’s ear. People have often assumed that the reason for the momentary lag in talk time is because of the cell phones themselves, but that’s not true. Just the same as optical fiber does, wireless signals can travel through the air at extremely high speed. The delays actually occur because of slow software in the cell phones, and “roundabout” routing systems. A company by the name of New Long Term Evolution is set to launch their services next year, and it’s said that their software should diminish the current cell phone voice lag by 75 percent, which most human ears won’t even notice.

Make Way for New Generation of Cell Phones

Orange Wireless already has some 500,000 high definition phones installed in Europe that utilize voice-over-Internet (VoIP) technology. The company’s technology first received criticism of poor quality from around the globe relative to the service of traditional phone lines. At last, it seems that Orange has closed the gap with both Wi-Fi and cell calls, bringing better technology to the forefront of a growing, sometimes crude industry. In the next year or so, Americans should also be able to call up friends or family and talk to them as if they are actually face-to-face. Move over, Jetsons. America just might be catching up without the need of online loans, and isn’t freedom of choice is delightful?

Money: That’s What You Need

<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-55796" title="small loan small business" src="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/small-loan-small-business-224x300.jpg" alt="Your small business is ready for its start. A small loan can help get it off the ground. (Photo: flickr.com)

When anybody decides to start a business, whether large or small, they must factor in the issue of cash. Without money, a business won’t succeed, let alone lift a few inches from the ground. It isn’t surprising that three-quarters of start-up businesses close within the first year. Many people are left baffled and ask themselves why this happens. Small businesses usually close their doors because they don’t have enough capital to keep things running (lights, gas, Web hosting costs, etc.).

Plan Carefully

Before you start reaching for your credit cards and scheduling interviews with banks to acquire loans, you’ll need to know what your business is and if you possess enough knowledge and passion to build it. What I mean by passion is having enough love and intellect for the field you’re interested in to continue believing in it, even when the money isn’t pouring into your bank account. Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

Is my business a store-front, online, or home-based business?

Am I offering a product, service, or both?

What are the costs for my start-up business?

Do I posses enough knowledge and passion to run my business?

These questions are very important to small business success. The costs differ depending upon whether you’re going to have a storefront or home-based business, of course. These days, most businesses operate brick-and-mortar and virtually, offering products and services in person through franchised store placements, throw mail-order and online. Just be careful not to put the cart before the horse. Once you decide in which way to start your business, you can later decide on branching out and using different marketing techniques.

Am I Offering a Product, Service, or Both?

There are lots of businesses that will offer a combination of products and specialized services. You see this type of business function in psychic medium services. They sometimes offer tarot card readings, books, candles and talisman products. Professional speakers will offer their services as well as their own books, tapes and other products to potential customers. Try to answer the question of which your business will offer: a product, a service, or both?

How Much Does it Cost to Get Started?

This question should tie in with the first one, “Is my business a store-front, online or home-based business?” We’ll use an online business as an example. If you decide you want to start a business blog, you will need to factor all of the things necessary to successfully make a profit, or at least break even until things pick up. Web hosting prices could be as little as $80 a year, but others can cost up to $300. The difference in pricing depends on what the Web hosting company’s incentives and benefits are.

Let’s say Web hosting costs $80. You also have to register a domain name for your blog. The cost for a domain name (Web address name) can go for $8.00 at Web sites like GoDaddy.com. Other than the $88.00 spent on a blog URL and hosting, no other costs are needed, other than a computer and Internet connection, of course.

A Small Loan Helps

Even in the case with a small figure of $88, a small online business could use a small loan to help get things rolling. The process isn’t all that difficult. First, seek out places that offer payday loans. In most cases, online cash advance Web sites like Personal Money Market can offer you a small loan that will get your business up and running in no time. These companies will even work with you so that you can decide when to pay them back: one week or two weeks. It’s your choice. Good luck with your new business, and remember that Web sites like Personal Money Market can help.

What about a cash advance for all? (Photo: flickr.com)

The U.S. has finally traveled out of the dark ages of recession, or so it seems, because a few people I know have had to utilize cash advance loans to keep their businesses afloat. Many of financial hardships that people are facing aren’t spewing forth from a lack of effort. Typically, recoveries from recession in the United States are lead by small businesses. It’s during this time that small businesses should be springing forth, and advancing the growth of the current economic state.

Positives of This Recession Break

The positive side of a “recession breather” is that small businesses can lease or buy fairly cheap commercial property while they prepare for financial growth and industry expansion. My friend and newbie online business owner Carl R. said, “I believe that in up to six months from now, the unemployment rate should scale back down to the eight percent, or maybe even five percent mark.” At that point, we should be celebrating and enjoying life, because small businesses would provide four out of five new jobs for Americans.

Is There a Dark Side to This?

Unfortunately, if we do happen to regress into another dreaded recession, falling from the “recession breather” we’re currently in, it could go down this way: unemployment could crawl “way above” 10 percent. That would definitely put us into another funk. Commercial Real Estate values would sink more than they expand, due to a lack of small business expansion. When small businesses refuse to expand, they react by rebuffing the notion of hiring, because of the possible lack of expansion. The concept is similar to a revolving wheel. Small businesses are the rise and fall of our country’s financial destiny. Small businesses fear the thought of consistently changing company policies and creating rigid changes in energy, union membership and health care matters. In this case, unfortunately, a cash advance loan wouldn’t help my friend Carl.

There are wonderful possibilities as to how small business power could signal an economic charge against financial woes and provide recession remission. However, the reality is that small businesses still aren’t hiring, and most are aware of the facts presented here.

Some Businesses are Doing Better than Others

Some of the conglomerates like McDonald’s, Green Mountain Coffee and Panera Bread have weathered the current recession, either by keeping profits at a set high or improving their sales figures. However, not all restaurants are operated and provide as much convenience as fast-food chains Most use and need credit lines to run their businesses.

Will President Obama Save Small Business?

There are numerous issues involved in the recovery of small business. Energy and union labor are two big issues worrying small business owners. President Obama’s plans for health care are a current worry as well. Inflation and commodity prices that determine the costs of food production and delivery all play a key factor in the anxiousness small business owners are feeling about what’s ahead in the upcoming months.

Michael Lind had some things to say on Salon.com about the ideas and future plans for Obamacare, in that it practically places small businesses on a financial “sacrificial altar.” I won’t delve into the intricacies of his statements, but if Mr. Lind’s words represent the thoughts of President Obama, and congressional Democrats (who poor and middle class people have been hoping would rescue our country from its existing financial position), small businesses will only be able to dream of expansion.

Not a Storybook Ending

The sad truth is that locked down small businesses won’t start hiring, and the result will be that the current commercial property bomb might not be defused in time. And I’m sure that no one wants to see America fall prey to the explosion of a second recession. Thankfully, a cash advance loan is there if – or when – you need one.

Here’s the Cash Advance Process in a Nutshell

<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-55605" title="cash advance application convenient" src="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/cash-advance-application-convenient-260x300.jpg" alt="Applying for a cash advance at Personal Money Market is very convenient. Check out our application today! (Photo: flickr.com)

It is not difficult to get an online cash advance loan these days, and it seems that just about anyone can get one. An element that adds the cherry on top of a payday advance is that the process can be quick, easy and convenient.

There are simple measures that a future borrower needs to undergo, such as researching which companies offer them the best customer satisfaction, and other areas of service that help streamline the application process. These make things roll as smoothly as possible.

Some Cash Advance Requirements You Should Know

The requirements for getting a cash advance are generally that a borrower be at least 18 years of age. A valid checking account and a minimum monthly income of $1,000 are usually required as well. There are many cash advance lenders who have different requirements, such as three months of employment history and a checking account in the borrower’s name that has been open for at least as long as the applicant’s employment history. Also, a borrower should make sure that all of his/her important information is gathered for the application. Financial information such as bank statements, pay stubs, and account and savings numbers should all be ready. With the proper preparation, a borrower can speed up the already short application process considerably.

What if You Don’t Have Checking or Are Self-Employed?

There are many cash advance lenders who will gladly accept a valid savings account in lieu of a checking account. It’s also a great idea to check with your chosen cash advance lender to see exactly what they require. If you are self-employed, lenders may require a few more documents from you. Income documentation, typically for a three- to six-month time span, might be asked of you in a situation of self-employment. However, online cash advance lending companies like Personal Money Market are a tad more lenient as far as the income requirements and supporting documentation goes.

With Personal Money Market, it Couldn’t Be Easier

You’re here at PersonalMoneyStore.com because the online application is very easy to use. You should have all of your information handy, as it speeds up the process. Have your social security number ready. After all of the necessary information has been given, lenders verify the information given through a series of databases. Many lenders advertise that they guarantee applicants “no credit checks,” credit rating or history checks. You’d have to have been living under a rock if you’ve never heard the typical, “No-Credit” or “Bad-Credit” cash advance invites. This pulls the situation into the borrower’s favor, because even if they are denied by their chosen lender, many other cash advance sources are available.

A payday lender who approves you for a cash advance will contact you by phone or E-mail after reviewing your application. At this point in the process, the lender will carefully outline all repayment terms and discuss the length of the cash loan. There are some businesses who offer a same-day cash advance, but that won’t always happen. Generally, cash advance companies can have your money in your account within three to five business days.

Electronically Wired Funds

Funds that are electronically wired into a borrower’s bank account will be available to them a lot quicker, but there may be extra fees from your bank and cash advance lender attached. Speak with your lender in depth about wire transfers before you decide to commit. Aside from the extra costs the lender may charge, wire transfers can be the fastest, easiest way to receive cash advances. Again, take note that many lenders charge a 10 to 15 percent fee of the total transfer amount for wire transfer services.

Your Information Should Be Treated With Care

The best thing for you to do is your homework. Make sure that you are completely aware of the risks you could face when offering your personal information. A study conducted by a group of University of Toledo marketing graduate students showed that out of 50 online cash advance services, as many as 10 do not provide secure cash advance application pages. This is not the case with Personal Money Market, however.

Many different types of companies were listed in the survey, which included payday loans, unsecured loans, online loans and short-term loans. Make sure that you’re careful. If your personal information is unsecure and floating around the World Wide Web, even the most moderate of hackers can access all of your personal records. Remember that the most well known, and established, companies are best. That’s the kind of security Personal Money Market offers you.

Find That Privacy Policy!

Just to make sure that you know your personal information is secure and not at risk of being hacked, start with the cash advance company’s privacy policy, which should be posted somewhere on the Web site. Make sure you look for a few sentences that should read something like this: “We do not share personal information with any outside entity, or engage in third party marketing.” Once all of the anxiousness and fear has gone away, remember these simple measures needed, and get your cash advance today!

(EDITOR’S DISCLAIMER: Many payday lending companies require that applicants be employed for a certain period of time before they are eligible to receive payday loans.)

Anyone who has ever screamed, “I need cash now!” while surviving the sometimes grueling experience of college life can attest that it’s a financial pain. Everything seems to cost money. From the roof over your head to the parking you utilize, it all costs money. Let’s say you aren’t living on campus. The tuition alone can take away from anyone’s pockets. Even when people acquire financial aid, other suggestions may need to be considered.

Consider Getting a Cash Advance Loan

Online cash advance Web sites such as Personal Money Market can assist with some of the less expensive liabilities. Though they are cheaper, they can be equally as important. If you own your own car, gas expenses can skyrocket through the roof. Just keep in mind that constantly taking out cash advance loans can get you into financial trouble. If you know that some grant, financial aid, or loan money should be coming soon and you need some cash until then, cash advance loans could do the trick.

Catch the Bus Some Days

The price of gas has gone up considerably in the past 10 years, making cars large liabilities. This is particularly true when the car requires payments or is being leased. During the times when gas prices are higher than usual, consider catching the local bus to school. If your job is on the local bus-line, you’ll save even more money and even get some exercise just by letting your car sit for a day or two.

Stock Up on Canned Goods

Supermarkets like Wal-Mart and Kroger offer great deals on canned good foods. Soups, fruits, and even meats are canned, and can be purchased in some cases for less than $1.50 a can. You want to make sure, however, that you avoid fast food restaurants at all costs. Most times, students are racing from place to place, constantly in a time crunch. If a student has a job and no car, the time constraints are more prevalent. This makes quick meals more tempting. Buy more foods that can be cooked and maybe even preserved for longer. A tried and true remedy for college hunger pangs is Ramen Noodles. You see? The trick is finding creative ways to feed yourself without starving.

Shack Up with Other Students

Living alone can be extremely expensive while attending school. For some people, campus living is an option, but for others, living off campus is the best financial choice. You and any other students you know might consider chipping in for a three- or four-bedroom apartment or house. Some people find this resolution satisfactory because they know their roommates will be around for at least two years, unless they drop out. In the case that a roommate does decide to move out, other frugal students will be eager to drop anchor and help with bills.

Supplement Your Income

There are many Web sites that offer money for easy work. If you are someone who loves social networking, for instance, Personal Money Market offers opportunities for you to do what you already love doing – and they pay you! What could be better than that? If you like to write, Personal Money Market also presents writing opportunities for freelancers. Another Web site called PeopleString offers profit-sharing for their members to do the things they already do, such as surf the World Wide Web, check their E-mail, visit social networking Web sites, and even check out dating websites. You can also visit over three dozen popular Web sites offering retail items along with cash-back options.

These are but a few ideas and suggestions to help you supplement your income while taking tests, doing homework and working a part- of full-time job during college. If times become too difficult, you can still consider applying for online cash advance loans and get cash now.
