Taking out low interest loans for home repairs may be a good idea, because the one thing that may need to be fixed could create a string of other, more expensive things to fix. For example, your roof may be leaking. That may be a simple and inexpensive job, but left unchecked, it could eventually get so bad the entire roof would cave in. Granted, that may be the worst-case scenario, but you get the idea. Small home repairs that require a small, low interest loan could turn into large home repairs that require large, higher interest loans. Don’t let your small home repairs turn into major renovations that require a home equity mortgage.

Take out smaller low interest loans while you can

If you catch your repairs before they turn into a major job, you can afford to take out smaller, low interest loans. Plan ahead before you take out the loan, however, as you may not be able to afford to pay it back. Determine your budget before deciding on how much to take out. Look at how much you can afford, taking into account the fees. If the amount of work that needs to be done cannot be handled all at once, then decide how much work can be reasonably done with the money you can afford to take out. Maybe $100 is all you can afford, so do not take out more than that. Even if you can afford to pay back a loan of up to $500, be sure to weigh out the pros and cons first.

What to do next

After calculating how much money you need, the next step is to apply for a low interest loan. Clicking the convenient little green button is the first step to applying. You will go to a secure application form, which will then be sent to a lender. Once they review your information, you will hear back regarding their decision. All this should happen within a few minutes once you submit your information. Should you be approved, your money will be in your bank account within a few hours. Then you can get started on those home repair projects.

When all is said and done…

After your projects are complete, it will be time to pay the piper. Your low interest loan will come due before you know it. Even if it is an installment loan, the payments must be paid on time. Late fees, even with low interest loans, can eat away at your budget further. Take the time to pay them back as soon as possible.

You may buy your next car with a cash loan. People are using their cars longer and trying to get more use out of them. Sometimes, however, a car will outlive its usefulness and need to be scrapped. If this is the case for you and you are looking to buy a decent used car, a cash loan could assist you with this.

The cash loan amount you need

The amount you get from your cash loan will depend, of course, on the price of the car minus any cash you have on hand. If you want a car that costs about $8,000, and you only have $3,000 cash on hand, you will need to take out a new car loan of $5,000. Larger cash loans like these come in forms of auto loans and installment loans, because you just cannot pay the entire loan amount back at once. (If you could, you wouldn’t need a cash loan, would you?)

However, if the car you are looking at costs about $3,000 and you have only half of that amount, we can help you get a cash loan of up to $1,500. Again, this may need to be paid back through installments. Just remember to take out only as much as you need and not any more.

The Application Process

When you are done reading this article, be sure to click on the green “Apply Now” button below. It will take you to the secure application form where you will then type in your information. Once this is complete, your information will be sent to a lender who specializes in larger cash loans like what you are seeking. They will review your information and give you an answer within minutes. Upon approval, you should have your money within a few hours – just in time to get rid of your old heap and get something reliable!

Pay it Back, Not Forward!

Cash loans should always be paid back on time. Rolling a larger cash loan forward can spell disaster for you if you fail to keep up with your payments. Installment cash loans are still subject to the higher interest rates, so keep this in mind when you plan out your budget.

Sometimes I wonder if getting a cash advance is what I need to do to fund school field trips for my children. It is the end of the school year, and I have received nine permission slips for field trips just for the month of May alone! It would not be that bad, but they are actually asking for money to fund these trips. Maybe a cash advance could assist me with these.

Parents with school-aged children can sympathize with me, I am sure. What do you do when your child’s school continually asks for money to fund field trips? Chances are that you are tempted to take out a cash advance on your salary, so let’s consider the cash advance option.

The cash advance amount you need

When field trip permission slips come at you with no end in sight, a cash advance can provide the very help you need. The amount you take out depends on the amount the field trips cost. Luckily, only a few of my children’s field trips needed money. No matter the amount needed to cover the costs, remember to only take out what you need and what you can afford to pay back with your next paycheck. A cash advance is just that–an advance on your salary.

Apply now for a cash advance!

Applying for a cash advance is easy. All you need to do is to click on the green “Apply” button and fill in your details on the secure form. Once you have submitted your information, it will be forwarded to a lender to review your details. A decision will be reached within minutes, and you will receive the money you need upon approval. Then you can pay for the field trips and your children will be happy they get to get out of school.

Pay on Time and Avoid Late Fees

There is a simple trick to avoid the high late fees that come with a cash advance. Pay on time with your next paycheck. All it takes is just a little planning and commitment, and you can avoid these late fees.

A payday loan can mean the difference between having your lights on and sitting in the dark. My energy company tends to send out disconnection notices if their customers are even two weeks late paying the bill. Even if the customer is caught up from prior months’ bills, a notice is still sent. I received such a notice just recently, and I may have to take out a payday loan in the future if this keeps happening. Have you ever faced a situation like this? Or maybe you are facing this situation right now. Could a payday loan help you keep your lights on?

How much should I take out on a payday loan?

How much you borrow from a payday loan company depends on how much you have to pay your energy company to keep your lights on. It could be as low as $100, or as much as $1,500. It just depends on how much you owe. A payday loan is meant to tide you over to your next payday, so choose the amount you take out carefully.

Decide on how much you can reasonably afford to pay back when your next paycheck arrives. If it falls short of how much money you need to pay off the total light bill, take out only what you can afford to pay back. Of course, you will need to talk with the energy company and work out a payment plan if this is the case. Do not take out what you cannot pay back quickly on your next payday.

Applying is quick and painless

With the many payday loan companies online today, the application process has become quick and painless. You can even apply for a payday loan online. In fact, for your convenience, there is a green “Apply” button right below this article you are reading. It is secure, so no worries about someone hacking your information. Just fill in the required details and you are on your way to keeping the lights on.

Timely Repayments

Once you get past the hurdle of paying your light bill, you need to remember to pay back the payday loan you took out. When that next paycheck arrives, you must pay back the loan. Besides, you would have had to pay this amount anyway on your next payday, so it’s best to pay on time. The added benefit of paying on time is that you avoid any late fees that are assessed if you do not pay on time. So keep that in mind when you take out the payday loan to keep the lights on.

Are the banks or loan offices closed? This is OK, because you can actually go to your computer and apply for an online cash advance. In as little as a few hours, or overnight, you could have cash in your bank account so that you can take care of your unexpected guests.

Apply today for an online cash advance

Even in the middle of the night, you can apply online for an online cash advance. In fact, there is a green “Apply” button below this article that you can click on and securely apply for an online cash advance right now. And since you need fast cash, this is the perfect option to help you take care of your unexpected guests. Once you click on that button, you will be taken to a secure form. Fill out your details, making sure you have answered all the questions accurately.

After clicking submit…

Once you have submitted your information, it will be forwarded to a lender in your area or an online payday lender who can specifically cater to your needs, based on the information you have provided. Lenders will review your information and let you know their decision in a few minutes to a few hours. Should you be approved, you will have your money shortly after that. Then you and your guests will be able to enjoy each others’ company with no worries about money.

After your guests leave

When your unexpected guests leave and you are cleaning up after them, be sure to also clean up something else — your online cash advance. Do not let this go unpaid for too long. If you do, huge late fees could be assessed and you will end up being in debt for a very long time. Make it a priority to pay off the online cash advance as soon as possible. Then, the next time unexpected guests drop in, you’ll be prepared.

Even before you get served a foreclosure notice, you can take a proactive approach by getting caught up. It will look better on your credit report, and you will not have to refinance your mortgage. This alone could save you thousands of dollars in points and fees later. A no fax cash advance now could help you save money later.

Advantages of a No Fax Cash Advance

When you need cash in a hurry, such as for your mortgage, not having to deal with a fax machine or loan office can be a real time saver. For example, say you applied at a traditional loan office for a cash advance. They must then fax your application to the actual lender. Then the lender must take the time to make a decision. After the decision is made, they will let the loan office know. And then they have to track you down to let you know the decision. Then you must drive back to the loan office to pick up your cash advance. Sounds complicated, doesn’t it?

Of course, if you were to apply for a no fax cash advance online, the information could be quickly forwarded to the lender. They could give the answer immediately and you could have your no fax cash advance in your account within a few hours. You could catch up your mortgage payments, all within a matter of 24 hours.

No Fax Cash Advances are quick and easy

As you can see, applying for, and getting, a no fax cash advance is quick and easy. If you meet all the requirements, then you should be able to get your cash pretty quickly. Use this cash to save your house from going into foreclosure. To prevent this from happening again, be sure to pay off your no fax cash advance as soon as you get your next paycheck. After all, you want to keep this option open for the future in case you need it again!

Could a no fax payday loan help you catch up on your rent? You may have fallen behind on your rent because of a lost income or because of a health concern. Or, it may be that you just cannot afford your rent anymore. At any rate, you need to catch up on your rent before you get an eviction notice. Am I right?

If this is describing your situation, then you need cash in a hurry. Going to a loan officer or loan store may not be quick enough to help you stay in your home. While fax machines are quick, they may not be quick enough.

Enter the No Fax Payday Loans!

No fax payday loans are loans that are applied for online. There is no faxing required, because it is done electronically over the internet. This could make a difference between getting kicked out of your home and being able to stay. An answer will come within a few minutes, and you could have your money within hours. This will give you plenty of time to catch up on your rent payments.

How it Works

Applying for a no fax payday loan is just like applying for any other type of loan. The standard information is required, along with the dates of your next two paydays. For your convenience, you can click on the “Apply” button and you will be taken to the secure form. Fill this out completely and then submit it.

Your application will instantly be forwarded to a lender. You will find out within a few minutes if you are approved, and upon approval, get your money within a few hours. No fax payday loans really are that easy and quick. There is no need to wait around for traditional loan officers to decide your fate based on your faxed information.

Pay it Back!

Don’t forget this one little caveat—pay back your loan as soon as possible to avoid the late fees. Often, when people get a no fax payday loan, they tend to forget this little part of the equation. If you forget to pay back the loan, you may have more problems than just back due rent.

When money is tight, many people hold onto their cars longer, creating a need to get cash now to repair them more often. Normally, a lot of people will “trade up” their vehicles so they do not have to deal with these costly repairs. But when people are tightening their wallets and bracing for a loss of income, holding on to what they have means keeping a car in good repair.

Cash now for older cars

During the Great Depression, this happened all the time. I remember hearing stories of my grandfather fixing the tires on his car every time his family wanted to go into town. Of course, this was at the height of World War II and tires were just not available for the consumer. Even today, older cars just need more attention and, in some cases, some cash now to afford repairs.

Applying for cash now is easy

If you have an older car, it will be a matter of time before you need to fix something on it. This especially applies to a car that is ten years old or older. When you need cash now to repair your vehicle, you can apply for a short term loan online. You can apply right here and fill out the short application form. You will need to come up with a couple references in addition to the other items that most loan applications ask for. Remember to put in your bank information, so that you can automatically receive your loan in your account. Do not worry about your information, as the form is very secure.

Receive Your Cash Now

Once your application has been approved, you will get your cash in your bank account in a matter of a few hours. Then you can take that money and get your car repaired. Just remember to pay back this loan with your next paycheck. Not only does this keep you out of serious debt, but it also just makes good sense.

You have nothing to worry about when filling out the application for your fast cash loan, because of the security certificates most sites use today. These certificates are software programs that help protect your sensitive information from being stolen. As an added way to be sure the site is secure, be sure that the beginning of the URL in your address bar starts with https, rather than just http. The “s” is what means the site is secure.

Fast cash loan payback time

After your emergency is over and you have cash flow again, you must remember to pay back this loan. It is meant only to be a short term cash solution and not a long term loan. Try to make the deadline to pay back your loan. If you cannot meet the deadline, at least be sure to pay back the money as soon as you can right after the deadline. Fast cash loans are great in an emergency, but do not create another emergency by not paying the loan back.

If not, even if it means taking a payday loan, get one if you like in an area where it snows!

Before huge supermarkets came along to cater to the fast-paced lifestyle of today’s society, getting ready for the winter required hard work. It didn’t require payday loans. You had a shovel and you roughed it out. Yet in the aftermath of today’s harsh blizzards, where over a foot of snow is possible, people turn to all kinds of de-icers and other products that are readily available, if expensive. That doesn’t even take into account all the extra holiday lattes for which people fork over their cash in order to stay warm. I can’t help but wonder what it was like back then when people grew and canned all their food that they needed in the fall, just to survive through the winter. When Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote in her books about how they used to put up food for the winter, I bet she never imagined a world where people just go to the store and buy whatever food or other items needed to get through the winter.

Have a Plan of Action

These days, while you do not need to be as prepared for winter like in the old days, it’s still a good idea to have a plan of action. A major storm system blew through my area recently, resulting in many area businesses and schools closing. Before the storm hit, sales of shovels and snow blowers more than doubled. People also stocked up on extra food and other supplies to wait out the storm.

This all points to one thing: You need to have a plan of action in place for any emergency to protect you and your family from disaster. Winter snowstorms are no exception, and in fact, the governor of Wisconsin declared a state of emergency for the entire state. Over a foot of snow fell in a matter of 24 hours on December 9, 2009. This was the fourth worst snowstorm in Western Wisconsin history. Not having a plan of action could be deadly, or at the very least, expensive enough to take out a payday loan.

Winter Car Kits are Essential

Every winter, it seems that every media outlet advises people to create an emergency kit for their cars. They should include flares, battery cables, extra outer clothing, blankets and other items to keep you alive should you have an accident or break down somewhere and are not able to get help right away.

Old Car Kits

However, if your car is old, or has not been properly maintained, you need to include several items to help your car start in frigid temperatures. I found this out the hard way last week. It had just snowed heavily two days before, and the arctic air came rushing in after the storm. I had gone to my investment class, which ended at 9 p.m. When I came out to start the car, it would not start. Luckily, my instructor was still around and I was able to get to a gas station to buy some liquid heat to pour into my gas tank. The theory behind this was that there was still water in there from the summer and it may have frozen. After I poured that in, my instructor took me home and my car was left at the campus. The next day, I was able to get a ride to where my car was left, so I could try starting it. It started right up and I drove it home.

Moral of the Story

Winter preparedness doesn’t just include having the right tools to clear snow, or all the winter gear to help you stay warm. Cold weather and snow affects everything around you, and you need to have a plan in place to handle anything and everything that may happen. Even if you set up an emergency savings to buy what you may need, this is better than nothing at all. And for those of you who, like me, drive an old car, you need to prepare by keeping fluids, tools and supplies in your car to keep it going until you get in your driveway. Otherwise, you may be stranded with no cash and no way to get a payday loan until some kind soul gives you a ride home.

The Interview—At Last!

Visualize success with your next job interview. Here are some tips for sealing the deal.

After living on payday loans for the past few months while sending out resume after resume, you finally get a call from your dream company for your dream position for an interview. And it just happens to be the company you have had your eye on for several weeks now. You get excited and giddy—just thinking about having a new job makes everything seem right. You relax and sleep the best sleep you’ve had in days!

Then, reality sets in as you realize that the job interview is the most important part of getting the job. If you blow this, you could be stuck in the same old situation for another six months. Some of the excitement then wears off, and you get nervous as thoughts go through your head: “What if I don’t answer the questions satisfactorily? What if I go into this interview and I mess up everything?” And the list of “what ifs” continues to plague your thoughts. Everything is riding on this one interview, and you want to complete a good interview so that you can get the job. Here’s what you must do.

First Step—Don’t Panic!

Before you can even begin to complete a successful interview, you must first calm down and stop playing the “what if” game. Meaning: If you continue to imagine things that may possibly happen, yet it may not, then you will inadvertently cause the same thing you are afraid of happening and not get the job. Here’s what you do instead: imagine that you are a huge success in the interview, and then imagine you accepting the offer for the job at the company you love. Visualize success.

Second Step—Prepare

Now that you have calmed down, it is time to get serious and do your homework. Imagine every single question that may come up in an interview, such as “What would you say are your weaknesses?” or “How would you deal with ______ situation if it came up?” Write them down, and then create possible answers. These questions are generic, and are possibilities of what questions can come up in a job interview. You know your career better than me, so tailor this to work for you and write down specific questions that usually come up in your industry.

Next, go back to the ad that you originally responded to and write down some of the qualities that the company is looking for. Create possible answers from the ad that show your qualities and skills in a natural way. When you write out possible answers, you become better prepared to handle any questions that come your way, and you can answer confidently and authoritatively. Employers look for confident workers, so show that you are confident, or you may have to continue using payday loans to close the gap.

Last Step—Rest

On the night before you go to your interview, try to get to bed earlier, and do some deep breathing/meditation techniques to assist you in getting to sleep. The deeper and more restful sleep you get, the more alert you will be at your interview. It wouldn’t do for you to be sleepy at the interview after all this preparation, would it?

Another thing—be sure that you have proper clothing for the interview. This means that you must wear at least “business casual” clothing. Also, be sure you have showered, and present yourself in a neat manner. If you need new clothes, apply for a payday loan and go buy a new outfit to help you get that job so you can pay back all of your loans you took out to survive on.

Is This the Best Time to Buy?

Looking for the best mortgage rate? Check out these helpful tips!

Though we are far from the housing bubble that burst in 2007, with loan lenders more cautious than ever to sell mortgages to anyone with less than stellar credit history, this is indeed the best time to buy property. Lower property prices coupled with lenders looking to regain a portion of the money they lost due to the many foreclosures make this the prime time to buy—if you are in a decent position to do so, that is. If you have a decent FICO score and have adequate financial resources, your mortgage rate can be extremely low.

Mortgage Types

The rate you get will depend on the type of mortgage you end up getting. Below are the mortgage types available and the terms of each one to help you make a more informed decision:

Fixed—These mortgages have fixed interest rates that typically start out higher than other loans, but end up being lower than national rates in later years. The interest rate stays the same throughout the life of the loan.

Adjustable—The interest rate on these mortgages will start out lower to entice you into borrowing the money, but as the introductory period (typically seven years) ends, your rate will jump to whatever the current interest rate is. This mortgage type works best if you do not plan on holding a property for long and can sell it before the rate adjusts.

FHA—This is a federal loan through the Federal Housing Administration, and is used for those who cannot qualify for a conventional mortgage. Interest rates will be a bit higher than conventional loans, but the lending restrictions will be somewhat more flexible.

VA—If you have served in the military at one point or another, you may qualify for a Veterans Affairs (VA) loan. Mortgage insurance is not required on these, but you may need to pay a small fee as a “funding fee” when borrowing the money.

USDA—A USDA mortgage is typically used in rural areas by small farmers and low income people to gain property. Interest rates for these loans will match the market rates, but the benefit to these loans is that applicants may be able to qualify for 100 percent financing.

Interest Only—Interest only loans allow you to pay just the interest payment for a specific period, such as 10 years. This will give you a smaller payment each month as well as a lower initial rate. But, these will adjust just like the adjustable rate loans, and once the interest only period is over, you will begin to pay on the principal and the loan will amortize like a regular loan.

Compare Closing Costs

Closing costs will vary with each loan lender, so do your homework carefully. No matter where you borrow your money from, there will be three main parts to the closing costs: lender fees, third party costs and mortgage taxes. While the mortgage taxes should be exactly the same no matter what lender you choose, you should make sure you review these as closely as the other parts. Anything that does not look right or will cost more in the long term, walk away from.

Get the Best Deal or Walk Away

You do not have to accept any loan offer and can walk away from any deal. If after comparing the closing costs – along with the interest rates – you do not see any mortgage rate that is the best, feel free to walk away from any deal and wait until you can get a better deal. If we learned one thing from the great housing bubble crash of 2007, it is that shoddy mortgages often end up biting the borrower in the end, resulting in foreclosure. Be sure to choose the loan lender who will give you the best mortgage rate before buying that property, or face getting burned in the long term.

Even under the most watchful eye, your identity can be stolen very quickly. In fact, according to the 2008 Internet Crime Report published by the federal government, total loss from all types of fraud was $264.6 million, up from $239.1 million in 2007. What is going on?

In this age of wide-spread information about how to protect against identity theft and fraud, it seems that many people are not getting the message. Yet the World Wide Web, which has a lot of information about how to protect yourself, also contains many more ways to become a victim of fraud without even knowing it. If this happens to you and you need to get some emergency cash, your application will most likely be denied because your credit score is not what you thought it was. Here’s how to clean up your credit report should this happen to you.

Check Your Report Often

Many times, credit fraud happens because people do not keep a watchful eye on their credit report. The law allows you to get a free report once per year, without having to sign up for any credit monitoring service. An example, freecreditreport.com, actually requires you to sign up with their monitoring service before you can get your credit report. This is not free, and there is a better site (annualcreditreport.com) that will give you a free report each year. Get your report from here, rather than get caught in with the fancy, yet humorous, jingles of the other site. Once you download your report, look it over very carefully for any charges that you have not made. Anything that looks suspicious, make a note of it for the next step.

Call the Reporting Agency

Once you have made a note of any suspicious activities, call the reporting agency. This will be one of the three big agencies: Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. Find their consumer number and call them about your report. Explain to them that you did not make those specific charges and request to have them removed. However, if the creditor insists that it is a legitimate charge, the reporting agency may not be able to remove it. In this case, you will need to contact your creditors next.

Call the Creditors

Typically, your creditors will be credit card companies and other types of charge accounts, including any emergency cash loans that you may have needed to borrow. But it really could be any creditor that you owe money to. Locate phone numbers and start calling each company to dispute any charge. Though this may be easier when you first get a statement, try anyway as you never know what may happen. If you cannot get any results right away, ask to talk with their boss. Repeat this as many times as necessary to get results. Once you get results, make sure they really do remove the charge from your report by calling the reporting agency once again.

Pay Off Legitimate Debts

After you have all the charges that you did not authorize removed from your report, look at all the charges and debts that you did authorize but have not paid off. The best way to get this cleaned up is to pay them off. Simple enough, but this requires a bit of planning and execution on your part. Proper budgeting, with a debt repayment plan, is the best way to get the legitimate debts cleared from your credit report.

Use Emergency Cash Wisely

There are always going to be times when your expenses will outlive your income, leaving you to survive on emergency cash. Tread carefully and use these loans wisely—otherwise, you will do more harm than good to your credit report. Keep this in mind as you are cleaning up your credit and paying off your debts.

However, even if it's staring you in the face, know that you may have options.

You know it’s coming – that knock on the door. That heart-wrenching, gut-tearing, echoing knock from the deliverer of bad news; that piece of paper with the nasty word “Foreclosure” on it. You have done everything in your power to avoid this, including taking out emergency cash loans, but it seems that no matter what you tried, you just could not stop foreclosure from happening. How can you save your credit when you are facing foreclosure?

Don’t Panic!

It may be a difficult thing to remember, but the first thing to remember once you get a foreclosure notice is to not panic or give up. Considering how many foreclosures that have happened since 2007, it may not be too late to save your credit or your house. Before you do anything, research all your options – including those from the federal government.
You also do not want to bury your head in the sand and hope your problem will go away. As much as you want to wave a magic wand and wish it away, you can’t. Contrary to popular belief, lenders do want to work with their borrowers to create a workable solution for all involved. So, how can you save your house and/or your credit when hit with a foreclosure notice?

Research Your Options

Go to your favorite search engine and type in the phrase “foreclosure options,” and you will get over one million results. So that tells you that there are many people in a similar situation as you are, as it is a very popular topic right now. Unfortunately, only a third of those results will give you real solutions that you can use. Of those usable results, there are several ideas listed online that may help you save your credit as well as your house.

Ask for a Forbearance Agreement

Explain your situation as professionally and patiently as possible, and ask for a forbearance agreement. A forbearance agreement will allow you to make reduced payments for a pre-determined amount of time. The written plan will specify all the details. If your lender agrees to this, then you must make the payments on time, or they will begin the foreclosure process all over, and no amount of emergency cash loans will help you get back on track.

Add Back Payments to Mortgage

If your lender does not want to give you a forbearance agreement, see if they would be willing to restructure the loan and add the missed payments on the end of the loan. Even though this will mean more time at the end, at least you can save your credit and your house, meaning that your loan will be in good standing once again.

Short Sale

Then again, if you are just ready to get out from under the strain of your mortgage, it might be a good idea to just sell your house. You can ask your lender to give you some time to sell the house, and they may approve a short sale — i.e. selling the house for less money than owed to the lender. When the house sells, the proceeds will then go to the lender to help pay off some of the debt.

The Final Word

No matter the method you choose, you must be willing to take action with something. Letting the foreclosure go through without working with your lender will result in your credit being destroyed and your house being taken. Even if you do not want to live there anymore or pay on the mortgage, you still need to make sure your credit stays healthy for your future financial health. Otherwise, no amount of emergency cash loans will help you get ahead. Get going and take action now!

Rather than spending impulsively, why not work out a sensible budget? (Photo: flickr.com)

Could a personal loan have helped De Livera Shanela Ruwanthi, 21, of Sri Lanka? She was caught stealing $37 worth of food and was charged a fine of $1,000, with an additional fine of $5,000 for bribery. She tried stealing a carton of ice cream, cookies, pasta and fish fingers. She hid them in her purse. According to the Straits Times, she tried to bribe the two security officers with the $150 she had with her.

Why Steal if You Have Money?

If she had $150 with her, why did she not just pay for the items instead of trying to get away with stealing the items? According to the article, if the court decided to do it, she could have been sentenced to up to five years in prison and a $100,000 fine. $100,000 is definitely more than $37, and it doesn’t take much brainpower to realize that stealing is ultimately going to cost more money in the long run than it would to just pay for your items outright.

Was She Trying to Save Money?

If she was trying to save money, stealing was not the way to do it. In fact, if she would have just paid for the items, she would have been able to save the money that she was fined for college or a good used car. Instead, she chose to satisfy short term desires instead of considering the future consequences of her actions. But can we fault her for doing that when it’s human nature to satisfy short-term desires? Consumer debt, i.e. credit cards, is the ultimate result of satisfying short term desires. Can we really judge Ms. Ruwanthi for stealing illegally, when most of us are guilty of stealing legally through consumer debt? Personal loans, however, when used correctly, can help you get out of debt. Be sure to create a workable budget before you take out a personal loan and you will be fine.

Invest in Your Future

Many people do live in the moment, without considering the future. But then they wonder what happened when they end up old, broke and living on assistance. Where is the millionaire lifestyle that they imagined? It went up in smoke with their overindulgence and overspending. You need to take time now and create a budget that will handle your immediate needs of food, shelter and clothing (secondhand, if possible) so that you can perhaps save up and invest your money to have that millionaire lifestyle later in life. Getting the trendiest fashions or driving the best car in the neighborhood is fine if you can afford it now without getting it on credit and save for the future at the same time. It is too indulgent if you cannot afford it now without getting into debt.

Debt Costs Money

Much like criminal fines, debt comes with consumer fines called “interest rates.” These rates are also known as a “stupid tax.” When you charge a purchase on your credit card to buy something that you really do not need, you are agreeing to pay these fines. In the long term, buying that extra pair of shoes or fancy garden tool on credit is going to cost you at least two to three times the original price than if you were to just buy it with cash. While personal loans may be useful to get you out of debt in the short term, it should never replace proper budgeting and planning. If you are a bargain shopper, buy with cash that you have earned—not with what you haven’t yet earned, or what you can pay off in the short term.

Market Value Not Equal to Actual Value

If you are a lemming investor, please don't use small loans to finance your lack of creativity. You'll be shocked at how much it can cost you.

A small loan can help you if you are short of cash until your next payday, but if you invest in the stock market and follow the crowd in their buying and selling habits, you may end up with many more liabilities than assets. Why is that? Have you ever noticed how much the stock market fluctuates over the course of a day, and how much the share prices go up and down? Does that mean that the companies’ values goes up and down as much as the share price, or does that mean that there may be some other force at work here? As you will see, the market value of the share does not equal actual value of the same share in terms of a company’s value.

Market Price Based on Emotions, Not Logic

One of the pioneers in value investing, Benjamin Graham, believed that many people rely too much on their emotions when investing rather than their logic. This explains why the market fluctuates so much, and why so many people claim that the stock market is risky. What makes it risky is the constant buying and selling that goes on day after day, hour after hour. This constant buying and selling is what either drives the share price up or down, and it’s what creates the risk.

Ben Graham suggested in his book “The Intelligent Investor” that if you want to build your wealth from the stock market, you need to use a “dollar cost averaging” technique, meaning to consistently buy more shares at a lower price over time. As inflation and company values grow over time, your investments will be worth more in the long run. It’s also known as the “buy low and sell high” technique. Unfortunately, most people tend to bring their emotions into their investing, and will panic and sell when the price is going down, because they are afraid to lose any more money on their investments, leaving them open to take out a small loan to survive.

Beyond the Smoke and Mirrors

The stock market is riddled with confusing terms, acronyms and policies, making it very difficult for the average investor to understand. All this is just smoke and mirrors designed to keep most people in the dark and dependent on high-priced brokers to navigate the investing maze for them. However, if you were to peek behind the curtain, you would see that all the confusion is just smoke and mirrors.

Inflated Price? Inflated Value!

In an effort to control the market prices, brokers and fund managers will either buy or sell enough shares to drive the price back up or down, depending on where the prices are going. Maybe it’s because a company got some bad news, or even good news, and investors are trying to position themselves to either make or avoid losing a lot of money. However, this tends to skew the value of the share price, making the market unbalanced. Therefore, if a share price is going up too high, brokers or fund managers will sell several million shares to drive the price back down. Likewise, if a share price is going down too fast, they will buy as many shares to make it even. So, if you see share prices inflated, don’t make the mistake of thinking it is worth that much. In fact, they may not be worth much at all!

P/E Ratio Tells it All

There is a very simple way to determine if a certain share price is on target or not—look at the Price per Earnings ratio. This is a valuation method that takes the company’s current share price on the market divided by the per-share earnings over a certain time frame, usually one year. So, if a company’s share price is $24 and the earnings per share over the past 12 months have been $2, the P/E ratio is 12. Generally, the higher the P/E ratio, the higher the expectations of investors for company growth. This means that you will be able to see higher earnings within the next year with this company. However, the lower the ratio, the slower the growth regardless of what the market is doing.

Buy Low, Sell High

When you can learn how to find the correct value of a company or share, you will know when the share price is at its lowest, and when you can buy. After the share price tops out, you can sell your shares and pocket the difference without needing a small loan. If you do this, you will be able to make money on the stock market when everyone else is losing money.

You Need a Level Playing Field

<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-57237" title="borrow money online brokers" src="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/borrow-money-online-brokers-214x300.jpg" alt="Investing is more sophisticated these days, but this adage still holds true: don't borrow money to play the market! (Photo: flickr.com)

Traditionally, buying stocks through a broker meant pinching and saving your pennies for many years before being able to invest in the stock market. If you did not have the money to get started and you wanted to get started quickly, you needed to borrow money, or even buy stocks on credit. This is better known as “buying on the margin.” With the ease and convenience of the World Wide Web, however, the playing field has been leveled, allowing most anyone to enter the stock market with less money than before. However, in order to avoid losing your shirt, you need to have a basic knowledge of investing before attempting to invest online. Here are some tips:

Buy Direct

There is one method of investing that is not talked about or marketed much because it does not earn money for brokerages, which is buying stock directly through the company itself, or through a stock management site such as ComputerShare.com. Many large companies allow this, and the cost of entrance is quite a bit lower than if you were to start investing with a broker—online or offline. In fact, you can get started with as little as $250, and with minimal ongoing investments of $25 per month. Investing this way will help you avoid the traditional fees and commissions that are normally associated with using a brokerage, and will allow you to keep more of your money. If you are just getting started with investing, this may be the way to do it. Please, learn about investing before you go this route.

Brokers Can Help

As with anything you choose to do in life, if you do not understand how to do it, you will need assistance with the activity. Simply put, if you do not know how to invest properly, then you will need to find a reputable and honest broker to assist you. I say reputable and honest because there are brokers out there who will not have your best interests at heart and will leave with no money or assets to live on. They mostly have their own interests in mind when they push you to invest in something you do not understand. Keep in mind that, according to the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), brokers are not allowed to sell you any investment or product that you cannot reasonably afford.

You will need to borrow money just to survive if you find a broker who cheats you out of your hard earned cash. So it is imperative that you interview each one thoroughly before you hire a broker to handle your money. Also, many brokerages are going online, with many available that are claiming to be better than any other company. Research as many as you can before choosing.

Watch the Fees!

Know the fees that are associated with your account, as many times, brokers do not want to discuss them with you. They also may not know some of the fees, because they are told what to tell you. Only those involved with setting up the products will know all the fees. Don’t assume that the fees that you are originally quoted will actually stay the same. One online brokerage states in their fine print, “We reserve the right to add, remove or change brokerage charges as deemed necessary.” According to the SEC, if fees are changed, you are entitled to know about them at least 30 days in advance. But keep track of the charges assessed anyhow, or you will be losing more of your money than you realize.

Do Your Homework

The best protection against the need to borrow more and more money to invest is to do complete and thorough research on any company or brokerage. Learn how to read a prospectus, including the jargon that may confuse you. If you are unsure of what a certain term means, Investopedia.com has a complete glossary as well as several beginner investing articles to assist you.

You must also learn what the difference is between the market value of the share price and the actual value. These are not the same, as the market value is always based on the emotions of investors, while the actual share value is based on the company itself, or rather the price-to-earnings ratio. In simple terms, the more income the company earns, the higher the price per share will be.

Everyone needs to borrow money occasionally, but when it comes to investing online, the less money you borrow, the more money you can make.

Are you trying to put short term loans to the test? (Photo: flickr.com)

No amount of short term loans can replace the joy of welcoming a new pet home, and the frolicking of a kitten or puppy can create the “Awww” factor, making them hard to resist. But how much money are you going to end up spending on that cute new pet? If you are taking out loans just to provide for your pets, you may need to re-evaluate your priorities. In the meantime, follow these tips to keep your pet costs to a minimum.

Food: Generic or Name Brand?

Do you buy brand name pet food? If so, you are spending much more than you need to each time you buy pet food. Many brands in their marketing campaigns say that their brand is better formulated for your pet than the other brand, but honestly—are they really? Most, if not all, pet food must meet certain nutritional standards regardless of what brand it is—much like food for humans must have the same nutritional standards, at least in the United States. In fact, many pet food brands are manufactured in the same facility, but packaged in different brand name packages. Nutritionally, you are getting the same food, but you are paying less. Of course, if you must provide a better quality of nutrition, do not look to manufactured pet food to do it with, but give your pet a raw meat diet.

Cleanup on Aisle 4!

Once you buy the food and your pet eats it, it must come out, eventually. If you have an indoor cat, you will need to provide a clean and safe place for her to use the facilities. Initially, you will have to buy the litter box and litter, as well as a scoop for her “droppings.” On an ongoing basis, whatever litter you buy, you must continue using this because cats are creatures of habit and will refuse to use the litter box if you abruptly change the litter. So when you first welcome your cat home, be sure to find the least expensive litter you can, because you are going to be buying this type for a long time to come.

If you have a dog, buying specially made bags to scoop up their “droppings” is a waste of money, and you can actually use plastic grocery bags to do this with. Just put your hand inside the grocery bag, pick up the mess, and then turn the bag inside out so that the mess is inside the bag. Tie it up and throw it away. That’s simple, and you begin to eliminate the need for short term loans to buy pet supplies.

To Vet or Not to Vet

This is a very tricky choice, because many “experts” today say that you need to take your pet to the vet at least once per year for a maintenance check up—the same as what is recommended for humans. But if you have a healthy pet, is this really necessary? I have had my cat for going on four years, and we have not taken her to a vet yet. Yes, before we got her, she had all her shots. She has been healthy ever since we welcomed her into our home, and has not needed a vet visit.

If you should notice that your pet is acting out of the ordinary, then it would be a good idea to take your pet in to see a vet. Otherwise, you can skip this unnecessary cost and put your money into a debt repayment plan.

Treats, Toys and a Place to Sleep

This is the one section that many people end up taking out short term loans over to cover other expenses, because they overspend on unnecessary items such as a pet bed, chew toys and pet sweaters. Honestly – pet sweaters? Isn’t their fur coat meant to protect them from the cold? Pets do not need very much to be comfortable (just food, water and shelter), yet people tend to forget this as they buy expensive beds, food and water bowls, clothes and other items that a pet simply doesn’t need. Food and water bowls are essential, but a $2 bowl at Wal-Mart is just as good as that $35 bowl at Pet Smart.

Now for a word on pet beds – really? If you buy a bed for your pet, it will not get any use, as your pets tend to find their own places to sleep—usually on your expensive leather couch or your bed. The floor works just as well, and you can save money to pay off debts or invest.

Using these tips will not only save you money in the short term (no need for too many short term loans), but can also make you money in the long term if you use your savings wisely.

Enjoy the Convenience of No Paperwork

<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-56576" title="no fax payday loans" src="http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/no-fax-payday-loans-296x300.jpg" alt="No need for faxing any more – no fax payday loans are here! (Photo: flickr.com)

Are you looking to apply for a payday loan but are dreading the thought of faxing all the documents that the lender would ask for? Relax—there are better ways of doing that very same thing online. No fax payday loans are now available for most people looking for a payday loan.

We Have the Web to Thank

It wasn’t that long ago that applying for a loan meant you either had to hand over a whole set of documents to the lender or fax them over. This was fine if you were going to visit the lender yourself or had access to a fax machine, but not many people could do either. They could not go to a lender for a number of reasons and getting access to a fax machine was out of question. Lenders realized this as well and came up with the idea of online applications. All you need to do was fill out an application and wait for the verification to be completed. The money you need is transferred to your account within hours of your application being received, in the form of online payday loans.

How Did Things Change That Fast?

The World Wide Web has leveled the playing field in many aspects of life, including the payday loan industry. As people faced difficulties in applying for loans personally or via the fax machine, lenders started researching various marketing opportunities online. They soon came up with online applications that people could make for payday loans, which actually started the decline of the fax machine playing any role in a payday loan. The need for accumulating a number of papers and then faxing them over was done with once for all. No fax payday loans are now preferred over faxing loan documents to a lender. However, if you still need to fax some information to a lender and you have a scanner, you can scan in your documents at home and then find a good free faxing service online. Just upload your documents, enter the fax number and click send. It will send your documents to the recipient just as if you had sent them from a fax machine!

No Changes in Procedures

The paperwork that was cumbersome has been reduced with the introduction of the no fax payday loan. Concerns over whether something else had been introduced in its place are unfounded as no changes have been made to the overall procedures in the payday loan process. You still need to be employed and earning a minimum salary, be of legal age, have a bank account and most of all be a citizen of the country. One big thing that you do not need to do is send in a load of paperwork for the lender to verify.

Apprehension May Have Prevailed

If you are used to the traditional system of banking or faxing documents before a loan is approved, you may be apprehensive about such a system. In all honesty, there have been a number of scams that the World Wide Web was blamed for, and you may have heard of some of them. Some use these extreme examples in efforts to convince people to avoid applying online no fax payday loans. However, with a little common sense, you can take precautions when you do business online. If you look at the address bar at the top of your Web browser and see the URL, there is a way to tell if the site you are on is secure or not by the “s” at the end of the “http” section. Phishing filters contained in modern browsers are also effective at detective fraudulent Web sites. This means that the site is secure and none of your information will be compromised.

The convenience that no fax payday loans offer is too much to be ignored, in spite of negative comments from some. No fax payday loans soon gained popularity and are today a preferred option.

Things are turning around, however. (Photo: arch-hiroshima.net)

Some of the largest private-sector banking institutions are reporting better forecasts for the future compared with last year. Saddled as they were with non-performing unsecured loans, these institutions have tapered down on this particular segment and have started looking at other avenues to increase revenue.

Aggressive Profit Mongering

Financial institutions were aggressive in securing profits prior to the global recession taking hold of the economy, and they did not hesitate to approve and disburse unsecured loans to beginners in a growing economy. Coupled with the high income that the borrowers were enjoying at that time, these loans looked secure. Yet as institutions tried their best to outdo each other to show record growth patterns to their shareholders, their joy became short lived. With the global downturn of the economy, jobs dried up as well as the repayment of the approved loans, leaving the financial industry in a crunch that would be felt across the globe.

Changing Fortunes for Borrowers

As the slowdown hit all sectors of employment and jobs became a rarity, large-scale downsizing became the norm. People who had borrowed money were either without jobs or had moved to different locations without providing a forwarding address, which led to large-scale defaults appearing in the books of the institutions. The outlook was very bleak.

Unsecured loans covered a majority the loans that had been approved. A large number of borrowers had also taken secured loans on vehicles and property. In these cases, these same institutions could apply a foreclosure on immovable property. However, doing the same with vehicles was difficult due to borrowers moving out of their last known addresses.

Institutions Cut Down on Unsecured Loans

Because of this bleak outlook, institutions began cutting down on the amount of loans they approved, making it difficult for the borrower to apply for an unsecured loan. Institutions looking at their own balance sheets and the high ratio of underperforming assets decided to cut down on the retail segment. This created a lose-lose situation where consumers faced difficult times as money dried up, while financial institutions were looking to recover the money that had already been lent.

A Turn for the Better

The last few months are getting better for the economy, as the retail segment has picked up and the stock markets have surged forward. This turnaround has prompted institutions to believe that better times may be ahead of them, as an increase in prices is being witnessed in Real Estate and investors seem to be pouring in to make a killing. Institutions are not far behind in their efforts to make a mark all over again, but will this hurt the economy once again as more unsecured loans get approved during the financial bubble?

Difficult Times for Consumers

People looking to apply for an unsecured loan may no longer find it easy to do so, as institutions are increasingly looking to reduce their exposure to such loans and would rather concentrate on secured loans. That in no way means that unsecured loans are no longer available. It only indicates that it will not be available as easily as it was earlier.
