Even in the light of all the warnings and mass publicity regarding scam protection, scamming has continued to be a major problem today. The more light and publicity that shines on these illegal acts in order to protect the public, the more clever these scammers get in their schemes. Recently, I received an e-mail from a friend saying she had gone on a trip to England. She had either misplaced her purse or had it stolen and was in need of funds to help her return to the United States. It all appeared very innocent, except that she couldn’t be reached by phone. I was just about to take out a bad credit loan when I decided to call her at home. To my shock and disbelief, she was there and had never gone to England! So you can see why it is very important you take precautions before making a last-minute jump.

Here’s another example of scamming, one I had experienced during the process of applying for jobs and rentals. One of the rentals sent back a link along with photos of a really nice home at a very reasonable price. However, I had to complete a credit check before they could provide any more details on the house. Basically, according to the company, it was used to determine whether I had any past evictions. Seems innocent enough, right? Wrong! This is actually a huge red flag to look out for.

On another occasion, the so-called company of an available job position I had inquired about had sent me a bunch of forms to fill out, including a I-9 form (requires social security number) and a direct deposit form (they only pay that way). There was even a form that required a passport size photo of myself. Be aware that these are red flag signs to look out for, as well.

Build awareness

These schemes, among many others, may still be working for many scammers, so get the word out and build awareness. Thankfully, there are still many reputable companies out that strive to make life easier, providing payday loans and other types of short term loans to help with unexpected money problems.

It might take you a little while to find the right people; stay calm and be patient. What happens, typically, is we get excited about buying a house and jump on the first available opportunity, then get dragged through the mud, only to swear we won’t do it again. During ancient and medieval times,a single individual wielded the power to govern the lives of all individuals in a particular state or nation. In fact, a whole government system was built on the idea that one person was to rule all. He or she was the apex of government and society — the sole determinant of a country’s fate. The basis of this supreme power is called the Divine Right. This right contends that the Monarch has been vested authority by supreme gods. Moreover, this right can be inherited and is passed on from one individual to his or her heir, and so on.

Monarchies – the state and the king

In a Monarchy, the Monarch is simultaneously an institution of society and government. He or she is, at the same time, the living manifestation of the state. All other individuals are his or her subjects. They live and die under the ruler’s will and whim. The monarch had the ultimate source of rights and possessed almost everything, including the lives of people he or she ruled.

All lands in the state were the monarch’s. All rights belonged to the monarch, and the people had to seek the ruler’s approval to pursue any sort of undertaking. The interaction of states, nations and countries, in times of peace and war, were the will and power of kings during the age of monarchies.

Age of the people’s right

As revolution and change swept through the world, monarchies were challenged by the common man. The age of revolution became an age of destruction, bringing the power of monarchies to an end. The Matterhorn, which is located on the borders of Switzerland and Italy, is one of the most photographed mountains, mainly because of its extraordinary peak that is so perfectly balanced in proportion. It stands at 14,692 ft. with two peaks 330 feet apart. The Matterhorn stands alone; though it is part of the Central Alps, it has no close neighbors. This is one of the main reasons why it is one of the most beautifully photographed mountains in the world.

Elements of the Matterhorn

Despite the size of the Matterhorn’s peak, it is not always found covered with snow. In the spring time, the Matterhorn has a rocky side that is exposed to the sun. Many admirers have wondered how this mountain was originated because there appears to be no evidence of rubble. It seems to have been washed away thousands and thousands of years ago by some type of powerful force. How many times have you heard the saying, “Oh, they just were shedding some crocodile tears”? Interestingly enough, there is an ancient myth behind it that has been brought into modern culture. It is said that a crocodile sheds hypocritical tears when it kills a victim, and this myth has been brought to modern culture. Humans, on the other hand, do not sympathize or shed any tears over the killing of crocodiles. Instead, saltwater crocodiles have been hunted without mercy for their skin or hide, which is considered very valuable.

Saltwater crocodile

The skin of the saltwater crocodile is used to make some of the best, most highly sought leather. It is exceptionally soft and very durable. A single  handbag in places like London can sell for $15,000. Men’s boots made of crocodile skin are also a highly demanded item. Preserving crocodiles

The fact that crocodile hides are so valuable  has threatened the very survival of these creatures. If you were crossing a street and a car speeds up toward you, your natural instinct would be to run to safety. But what about having that same feeling but for no obvious reason? This situation only heightens the use of technology in criminal undertakings. Tougher measures are required when common day appliances become means by which laws are violated, rights hampered and law and order jeopardized.

Secretaries of State may not require a payday loan or a short term loan, as they can make from $180,000 to $190,000 or more annually. The United States Department of State, or State Department, is the first executive department to be established; it was created in 1789, led by the Secretary of State. A Secretary of State advises the president on foreign policy and diplomatic relations, analyzes and decides on treaties and agreements, manages foreign embassies and directs, coordinates and supervises the activities of the U.S. Government and its linkages overseas. The State Secretary is directly answerable to the U.S. president.

California Secretary of State Debra Bowen

In 2009, California had a population of  nearly 37 million. It is the most populous state in America. Its government is led by Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Debra Bowen is California’s 31st Secretary of State; she has been in office since Jan. 8, 2007. She won the position against then California Secretary of State Bruce McPherson on Nov. 2, 2006, making her only the sixth woman in history to be elected to a constitutional office with a statewide range of responsibility and power. As the incumbent California State Secretary, Bowen leads nearly 500 people under the California State Secretary office, advocating accessibility and transparency in business, elections, legislation, political campaigning and lobbying.

Legislative Bill AB 1624

Debra Bowen helped pass Legislative Bill AB 1624, which makes available to the public all information on the legislative assembly schedule. This includes pending matters on the floors of both Upper and Lower Chambers or Houses of the Legislature, bill analysis in connection to other bills, bill histories, statuses and vote information in each legislative session, veto on a statutory law (e.g. policy commanding or prohibiting something), the California State’s Constitution and other laws and statutes (i.e. all statutes made on or after Jan. 1, 1993).

Electronic voting systems

Long before the year 2000, when those running for state offices were required to post on the Internet their financial campaign reports, Debra Bowen had been the foremost Californian member of the Legislature to have already done so in 1995. As California’s Chief Elections Officer, she oversees elections on state and federal levels. To measure the extent of transparency and security in elections, she has been granted authority to review California’s electronic voting systems, approving Diebold Election Systems, Hart InterCivic and Sequoia Voting Systems and annulling the use of Election Systems and Software once the machines’ capability in securing votes were found incompetent.

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum awarded Bowen the Profile in Courage Award for commissioning an in-depth review of California’s electronic voting systems. Through California Business Portal, Bowen provides online variegated information on business entities and networking. She also manages the Victims of Corporate Fraud Compensation Fund, which is intended to compensate and restore a victim’s loss/losses incurred by corporate fraud.

In terms of divorce, are there health concerns to consider? (Thinkstock)

The effects of separation are crucial. According to the recent Census Bureau report released earlier this month, there is an increased number of single Americans, and about 106.4 million citizens are included in this group of households. The primary causative factor of this growing rate is divorce. Divorce is another stage of adjustment. It is a sensitive family issue that primarily should bring stability and security among every household member.

Irony of marriage

Divorce is a life-changing event, just like marriage. Marriage is a challenge; it is a life-long commitment and exploration. It is an adventure in which many couples  find happiness and contentment. Marriage is a mixture of joy and pain, pleasure and difficulty, and love and sacrifice. Today, couples are resorting to the separation of this life-long pledge for various of reasons. Infidelity, incompatibility, violence and miscommunication are some of the many reasons why couples choose to divorce.

Statistical outcomes

America’s health departments conducted several studies on modern family life. The National Survey of Family Growth is the study that focuses on nationwide family issues regarding marriage, fertility, divorce, pregnancy and children’s health. Divorce rates for the past five years were one of the data-gathering projects facilitated by the group led by Bramlett, Matthew and William Mosher.

In the research, women ages 15-44 years old were used as a sample in 1995. It was published in National Center for Health Statistics that 43 percent of the marriages studied ended in a divorce. Most couples in crisis overlooked the option of obtaining a payday loan or an installment loan to help fund marriage counseling.

Health concern

Divorce is also a health concern. Its aftermath is critical, though there are valid reasons for every separation. Children, however, are the most affected in every divorce. Just like any couple, they also experience certain adjustments and a change in routines. Health compromises the entirety of an individual’s wellness. The physical, socio-emotional, psychological and spiritual dimensions are included in assessing health. It is a continuous re-examination of the advantages and disadvantages of the decision.

For better or for worse

Research psychologists E. Mavis Hetherington and John Kelly published a study titled “For Better or for Worse: Divorce Reconsidered” in 2002. Their investigation proved that 25 percent of children are distressed by divorce. These children considered separation of their parents as a traumatic event. Invalidating marriage also causes stages of grieving — denial, bargaining, anger, depression and acceptance. The processing of pertinent documents is fast. However, it takes years to accept the reality of farewell.

Hostilities and conflict in Northern Ireland have been around for so long that its people have forgotten the root cause of it. John Soule, a political scientist studying this ongoing conflict, declared that the conflict can be considered a ritual wherein both sides are locked in a dance and cannot get out. Using observations and interviews, he also stipulated that new recruits to the terrorist movements are being fueled by hatred and motivated by the desire to avenge fallen comrades, becoming oblivious to the original political purpose of the conflict.

Collaboration with the moderates

Governments are sometimes known to have collaboration with the moderates inside terrorist circles. If the government offers a deal to a heterogeneous terrorist organization, the leaders of that terrorist group will not hesitate to accept that deal. However, if the deal goes right and the moderate leaders return to the government, the terrorists are left in the influence of the extremists, which can increase activities of militant groups and widespread terrorist violence.

Nevertheless, if the deal goes smoothly, the government can require former terrorists, those who have switched over to their side to help in counter-terrorism efforts and technical know-hows, can improve the government’s chance in eliminating the terrorist threat.

Terrorists groups and internal conflicts

Terrorist groups are also known to have internal conflicts, and moderate leaders are more likely to accept deals from the government than extremist leaders. Moderates are known to engage in less violence. When the government offers a deal to the moderates, they leave the group and allow the extremists to take over, making the group even more dangerous.

Big challenges when confronting acts of violence

Democratic states these days face big challenges when confronting acts of violence considered terrorism. An over-reactive approach to the situation can alienate the population and damage the legitimacy of the government (which becomes more damaging than the terrorists’ activities). The credibility and capability of upholding the law by the police, the military and the government will also be undermined, especially when they prove incapable of handling such an event. The acts of violence must be approached in a steady, careful but immediate response with a positive result to maintain public confidence.

Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act

In the United Kingdom, a new law was passed called the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act, following their success in handling the terrorist bombings and killings during the conflict in Northern Ireland. This act allows the government to detain indefinitely, without trial, a non-national suspected of being capable of or implicated in terrorist activity. However, according to the British Law Lords, they ruled that “because only foreigners could be detained in this way, such an anti-terrorist law was discriminatory, disproportionate and unlawful under the European Convention on Human Rights.” Some of these “former” terrorists are even prohibited to seek and obtain immediate short-term financing, even with short term installment loans or bad credit payday loans, because of their former way of life.
