Affiliate Choice Theme

The Affiliate Choice Theme is designed specifically to increase affiliate conversions.

The Affiliate Choice theme is designed to help you maximize conversions on your affiliate website. Follow these step-by-step instructions to set up your site, and you’ll be up and running quickly.

First, if you need to install WordPress on your own domain, start with the instructions on or your hosting provider. Many hosting providers have automatic installation available. If you have trouble getting it installed, refer to the “help” section. If you get stuck, many hosting providers have free phone support and can point you in the right direction.

Now that you have WordPress installed, you are ready to get the Affiliate Choice theme running.

Installing the Affiliate Choice Theme

  1. First, download and save the Affiliate Choice theme to your computer. Go to the free WordPress financial themes page. Click the “download” link, then “save file” in the download box. Remember where you save the .zip file – you will need it for later.
  2. Log into your WordPress admin panel. You should see a navigation menu in the left hand sidebar.
  3. Click on “Appearance” in  the left hand sidebar to open up more menu items.
  4. Click on “Install a theme.”
  5. Chose “upload” in the list of options.
  6. Click “browse” and find the .zip file on your computer.
  7. Click “install now.” WordPress will inform you when installation is complete.

Loan application plugin and configuration

First, download and install the embedded application form. Adworkz affiliates can download the the Embedded Loan Application Plugin here. Installing the application plugin follows the same process as installing the theme, just use the dialogue under the “plugins” menu. Once the plugin is installed and activated, click the “Adworkz” menu option that has appeared in the left-hand navigation menu.  Enter your affiliate ID.

WordPress permalink settings

Expand the “Settings” menu at the bottom of the left-hand navigation bar. Choose “permalinks” under this menu. The permalink settings control the structure of the URLs within your website. For Search Engine Optimization (SEO) purposes, change the permalink structure to include the name of the page. Use either “Day and name,” “Month and name” or a custom structure that includes the name. WordPress database experts recommend that you start the permalink with numbers, such as the date, to prevent your site from slowing down.

Setting up your home page

The first page you should set up is your “home” page. This will be the front page that appears first when people visit your site. Create a new page called “Home.” In the right-hand sidebar under “Page Attributes,” choose the “Front” template. You will not need to put any content on this page. The template automatically creates the homepage for you.

Navigation page setup

Create the operating pages and/or posts for your site. Write an “About” page for users who want to know more about who you are.  Add a “Contact Us” page or post that includes a postal address for written correspondence and and e-mail address or phone number.  Finally, create a “Blog” page with no content; you will set this up later.

Application page setup

Create an “Application” page. For content on this page, simply copy and paste [adworkz-cash-form] into the text section. This is the “shortcode” that will automatically fill in the page with the secure Adworkz application form.

Conversion page setup

The theme is designed to work with three “conversion” pages.  Click “Pages” in the left sidebar menu and select “Add New.” Add a three different pages: the “Payday Loans” page, an “Installment Loans” page and a “Personal Loans” page. You can title these pages whatever you would like, but keep in mind that you will link to them from the three boxes on your front page.

How to write conversion pages

Conversion pages persuade visitors to the page into applying for a loan through your website. This is vital for making money, as you only get paid when someone applies and gets approved for a loan. Create your “Payday Loans,” “Installment Loans” and “Personal Loans” pages following the instructions for writing conversion articles. Copy the URLs of all three pages and paste them into a notepad or separate text file to keep track of them; you will need them later.

Protect yourself with policy pages

There are two policy pages to create that may help provide you legal protection. Create a “Terms of Use” page and a “Privacy Policy” page. General WordPress Settings

Once you have your permalinks and pages set up, you’ll want to address general settings. Click the main “Settings” option on the left-hand navigation bar. Your site title and tagline, the first two options, will appear on every page of your website. Under the “Reading” tab in the left sidebar menu, change “Front Page Displays” from “Your latest posts” to “A static page.” Your front page should be “Home” and your posts page should be “Blog.” Remember to click “Save Options.”

Under the “Appearance” tab, choose “Theme Options” to complete your setup. Choose which of the five colors you would like on your website. If you have your own customer service or live chat information, you can enter it for display on your website. There is also a place for a phone number. Many sites use this as their pay-per-call phone number where the visitor can conduct a phone application. Typically, you get paid if the call lasts longer than a minute and a half. You can sign up for pay per call programs with several affiliate networks.

Enter the links for the application form, payday loan page, installment loan page, personal loan page, terms of use, privacy policy and the contact us page.

If you would like to enter a legal disclaimer, check the box and enter disclaimer text. You should consult a lawyer to ensure your disclaimer is appropriate for your website. Finally, check the “about” and “home” boxes to enable footer navigation.

Maximizing your affiliate membership

In order to maximize traffic to your blog and your affiliate payout, you need to keep your website updated and relevant. In order to do this, you should post between one and three financial articles a day to your website. You can do this yourself, or you can hire a writer. For quality content, you can expect to pay $10 to $15 per article. “Scraping” or stealing content will end up getting your site penalized. A search engine “quality score” rates the content on your site for freshness, uniqueness and quality. Using correct grammar, punctuation and sentence structure will improve your quality score. Including the keywords you’re targeting in the URL of each post will also help your quality score.
