Over a span of 23 days, Whataburger is offering coupons for free food. The 12 days of Whataburger will e-mail a free Whataburger coupon to you every other day. The free Whataburger coupons will be for a different product every day and can only be redeemed that day.

12 days of Whataburger coupons

In 2007, the 12 days of Whataburger coupons became the center of a controversy. Whataburger coupons in PDF form were e-mailed out in a single sheet as an unauthorized release. In 2009, however, Whataburger did roll out the 12 days of Whataburger promotion. The company is re-releasing the promotion for 2010. Users registered for the 2010 12 days of Whataburger will  get a new coupon every other day via e-mail. These coupons can be redeemed on they day they are received for a free Whataburger item, which could be anything from a drink to a burger.

Whataburger locations

Whataburger is a burger restaurant that started in 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas. There are 700 Whataburger locations in 10 states. Whataburger remains one of the few chain hamburger restaurants that is not owned by a large corporation and has a family attitude similar to sandwich chain Jimmy John’s. There are rumors that Whataburger may be expanding beyond the 10 southern states where it currently has locations, but none of these rumors have been confirmed by Whataburger.

$1 billion worth of burgers

When Whataburger first opened, the burgers were sold for a quarter apiece. The burgers were built with five-inch buns and all-American beef. The goal of Harmon Dobson, the founder of Whataburger, was to have his customers exclaim “What a burger!” In the 60 years of operation, Whataburger has sold more than $1 billion worth of food. The 12 days of Whataburger promotion is expected to result in hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of free Whataburger items being given away. The chain will also benefit, with customers having a reason to visit a Whataburger every other day. The likelihood that the customers will order something to go with their free Whataburger item is very high, making 12 days of Whataburger a lucrative money-making promotion.
