For the unassuming connoisseur who digs the taste of swine, Jones Soda and J&D Foods have teamed up for a porktacular delight: bacon-flavored soda. According to AOL News, J&D Foods is a company that specializes in bacon-flavored products, and soda seemed like a natural fit. With the power of Jones Soda behind J&D, no bacon-craving thirst shall remain unquenched this holiday season.

Bacon-flavored soda: The right thing to do and the right way to do it

Imagine actor and former Quaker Oats spokesman Wilford Brimley mouthing that headline about bacon-flavored soda. It’s enough to make you squeal, which is exactly what J&D Foods owner Justin Esch is doing over his company’s cosmically aligned partnership with Jones Soda. Both companies are based in Seattle and known for taking risks with fun products, so a union was inevitable. Jones once released a limited-edition turkey and gravy soda, so anything is possible.

“They know soda. We know bacon. We were destined to merge our technologies for something big,” Esch told AOL News. “We’ve already made bacon beauty products, bacon stationery and edible bacon products, so something drinkable was next.”

Climbing Mount Bacon

Getting the bacon-flavored soda taste just right took some time. “We didn’t want pot roast, we didn’t want pork tenderloin, we wanted bacon,” said Esch. “Eventually we were able to get the crispiness of bacon in there without it being overpowered by porkiness.”

Bacon-flavored soda serving suggestions

Some people will simply chug Jones bacon soda. But for those looking to coordinate menus for swank holiday parties, Esch offers some tips. While it could go easily with a sandwich – making a turkey sandwich a turkey club – or with eggs sunny-side up, there are numerous cocktail mixing opportunities at a caterer’s disposal.

“Bourbon and bacon soda go together very nicely,” Esch claims.

Bacon gift bags are available

If Jones bacon soda sends your pig craving into the red, don’t despair. Jones Soda and J&D Foods encourage you to eat like Santa and go for the bacon gift set. For about $10, savor two bottles of bacon-flavored soda, one bag of Cheddar BaconPop popcorn, one tube of bacon lip balm and a mix pack for bacon-flavored gravy.
