Motrin pain reliever

As a mother of three, I have naturally worried about what medicine is best used for infants and young children. Do I give them Tylenol or Motrin? Well, in my experience, both have worked but for different symptoms. I have found that Tylenol works well for everyday aches and pains such as teething pain, growing pains and for breaking low-grade fevers (99 to 102 F), whereas Motrin works best for more painful aches such as ear infections, pneumonia and for breaking high fevers.

Upside and downside to pain relievers

The downside to taking Motrin is that it can lead to tummy aches, so it is best to take it with food or milk if they do not have an appetite. The upside is that it lasts for six hours, requiring fewer dosages. The downside to taking Tylenol is that although it does not upset the tummy, it only lasts four hours.

Combination of both in intervals

During my visits to the emergency room, when my children had ear infections, I was shocked to see the doctors giving a combination of Tylenol and Motrin. They also advised me to do the same at home, but in intervals — Tylenol every four hours and Motrin every six. The Motrin was used to break the fever, while the Tylenol was used to ease the pain. You may need to get a payday loan at times, especially when you don’t have enough money to pay for the medicines you need.

Tylenol versus Motrin

When it comes to Tylenol and Motrin, perhaps the best solution is to have both on hand. This way you can evaluate your child’s own personal circumstances and experiment with the two to find the perfect balance to care for your child’s specific needs. The result could end in a happy child as well as a happy home environment. It is very important that you seek doctor advice before administering any medicine to children. Commonsense goes a long way. If you find yourself stuck between paydays because your check was short after taking a week off from work to care for your little ones, an online cash advance can help.
