Space shuttle Atlantis is due to launch very soon – but the Kennedy Space Center tickets website experienced a failure to launch this morning. Tickets to view the Atlantis launch at Kennedy Space Center were due to go on sale this morning, April 22, at 9 a.m. However, the Kennedy Space Center tickets website experienced “technical difficulties,” and Kennedy Space Center tickets did not go on sale. No space fan — not even one with instant payday loans — could get a ticket this morning.

Kennedy Space Center tickets not sold today

Fans who are planning on watching STS-132, the launch of Atlantis, have to have Kennedy Space Center tickets. Because the website went down, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex shut down all ticket sales – including over the phone and in person. This ensures that Kennedy Space Center tickets will be equally available when the website is back up.

The ticket sales for launches at the Kennedy Space Center are handled by the Kennedy Space Center Visistor’s Complex. The Visitor’s Complex is offering updates on the status of Kennedy Space Center tickets on the KSC Visitor Complex Twitter and KSC Visitor Complex Facebook. As soon as Kennedy Space Center tickets for the launch go on sale, they will be announced on these websites.

STS-132, the launch of Atlantis space shuttle, is scheduled to take off on May 14, 2010 from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This will be the last flight of the Atlantis Shuttle, and it will be used to re-supply the International Space Station, among other things. After STS-132 is completed, there will be only two more space shuttle launches before this program is retired.
