Materials were locally-sourced in the surrounding area. Water conservation is built into the entire resort — in everything from heat pumps to graywater recycling. Local plants raised in an on-site nursery decorate the inside and outside of the hotel.

Most reviews of Alila Villas Uluwatu available online say that staying at Alila Villas Uluwatu is a very relaxing experience. On TripAdvisor, 91 percent of guests who stayed at this hotel recommend it. Most negative reviews are based on the fact that this hotel is somewhat secluded (which many others enjoyed) and that the hotel is new – meaning there are some kinks still getting worked out.
