1.5 million strollers deemed unsafe to small fingers

Do any of these strollers endanger toddler fingers? Perhaps the Graco stroller recall will take care of that. (Photo: flickr.com)

If you’re a parent, you know how much it costs to buy a stroller for your youngster. If you’re looking for anything other than a simple umbrella stroller, it isn’t going to be cheap. For mothers and fathers on outings with multiple young children, the value of a stroller (or even a double stroller) cannot be understated; they are invaluable. Payday loans for blessed relief from carrying tired kids around the mall? Yes please!

But parents must heed this Graco stroller recall

According to the Christian Science Monitor, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a Graco stroller recall that will bring back 1.5 million strollers due to problems with a canopy hinge that can severely injure toddler fingers. If you have a Graco Passage, Alano or and Spree stroller sold between October 2004 and February 2008 at Target, Wal-Mart, Babies “R” Us, Kmart or Sears, you have been warned.

What should you do if you have a recalled stroller

The Graco stroller recall, which includes strollers ranging in price from $80 to $200 (payday loans territory for some), will surely impact countless families. If you have one of the strollers with the potentially dangerous canopy hinge, stop using it and order a repair kit from the manufacturer. These will be available in one to two weeks; see the video below for instructions. Alternatively, call (800) 345-4109. A Frequently Asked Questions page is also available, and Graco is also responding to claims via Twitter. Even if you reside outside the United States, you are still eligible for the recall, according to Graco.
