Will you sleep better at night if you know the answer to that question? Honestly, in the grand scheme of things, I will be just as accepting of Caster Semenya if she/he is proven to be a hermaphrodite. I am open-minded enough to recognize that human beings make the best of their genetic heritage and try to carve the best life possible for themselves and those they care about. What the Caster Semenya magazine cover shows me is that she/he enjoys a more glamorous look. If tests come back positive that she/he is a hermaphrodite, I will not result to using the pronoun “it” in reference. Hermaphrodite, I believe, is its own gender. Online payday loans may be needed to help meet the costs of hormone treatments needed if Caster wants to reproduce (I’m not a doctor, I just play one on this blog). That’s Caster’s business.

Of course, if Caster Semenya is proven to be a woman, that last one won’t apply. And each one of us who are obsessed with proving Caster is one gender or another need some chill pill treatments.

It IS a more attractive, feminine look

Discover (a science mag that takes time off to chase stories on multi-faceted genitalia) blogs that Caster Semenya’s new look on the cover of South Africa’s YOU at http://www.you.co.za/ magazine may just be a sign that this successful 18-year-old athlete wants to enjoy some of the limelight. There’s nothing wrong with that, and she doesn’t need my approval. Sure, there may be some (like myself in more cynical moments) who question the timing and motivation of the whole Caster Semenya magazine cover, but we could just be a bunch of fuddy-duddies who think genitalia are divining rods (and buckets) that guide believers toward some sort of shiny, golden truth. Caster Semenya believes in herself: “I am who I am and I’m proud of myself.” She claims she isn’t bothered by negative publicity and thinks all the people who are uptight about labeling her gender should relax.

“I see it all as a joke, it doesn’t upset me. God made me the way I am and I accept myself,” she told YOU.

YOU has no comment, but appreciates the sales

Not only that, but according to BBC News, the Caster Semenya magazine cover has sparked tremendous national interest. Everyone has an opinion, and many of those people are angry over the insistence upon proving Caster’s gender is one or another. Her family is understandably upset as well, and they insist that she is female. I’d like to believe them and be done with this because if she isn’t, the storm surrounding her will only get worse… until Caster is burnt out and nobody cares anymore. We’re sick vampires, aren’t we?

“I’d like to dress up more often and wear dresses but I never get the chance,” Caster told YOU. As a BBC reporter commented, the costumes do show a softer side that what most people have seen before, with Caster in an athletic outfit and track shoes. The YOU spread shows her in black leather pants, sequined tops, dresses, feminine jackets and a cocktail dress with stilettos. Why would anyone object to the Caster Semenya magazine cover and spread? Oh, I don’t know. Perhaps they’re jealous. Perhaps they’re jaded.
