Emmy nominations 2009 a bit overboard
Is it just me, or do the Emmy nominations for 2009 feel a little bit like track and field day in elementary school, where everyone got an honorable mention?
Not only have the Emmy nominations for 2009 expanded to include more per category, I tried to figure out how many categories there are and had to stop for a coffee break in the middle of reading them. Finally, I resigned myself to scrolling through this Emmy nominations 2009 list and just counting the blue bars.
Not overboard, overkill
There are 101 categories for 2009 Emmy Award nominations! ONE HUNDRED AND ONE. You have got to be kidding me. With five or six nominees per category and some categories with seven nominees, that’s a gazillion nominees.
OK, so it’s really somewhere in the 500 to 600 range, but it just seems crazy to me. Luckily, they won’t be giving fast cash to all of the winners. But 2009 Emmy nominations will translate into money for the television shows and individuals through advertising dollars and high-paying acting gigs.
Excess upon excess
Keep in mind that this is only the Daytime Emmy nominations for 2009. Other Emmy Awards categories are:
- Daytime Emmys
- Sports Emmys
- Technology and Engineering Emmys
- Regional Emmys
- International Emmys
- Student Emmys
- Other Emmys
Other Emmys? What other Emmys? After reading through a significant chunk of the list of categories for 2009 Emmy nominations, I realize that it’s the more obscure categories that need the recognition the most. It’s just a whole lot to take in. And I think it’s ridiculous for an awards show to give awards to other awards shows.
Credit where it’s due
In the spirit of recognizing the unrecognized, instead of detailing the “big” 2009 Emmy nominations, which I am sure you can find in numerous places, I’m going to share the Emmy nominations 2009 for a lesser-known category. I might as well, I already went through the trouble of reading them.
