Lovers’ quarrel turned deadly?
The tragic saga of death for Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi appears to come down to this, if Google Trends is an accurate representation of what the public wants to know:

In other words, who’s hotter: the wife or the nubile young waitress? Real friends and family of both – as well as fans of the ex-NFL quarterback – are too busy with their grief to care. Now, as more information comes out about what happened, I begin to wonder whether Kazemi used her tip money to buy the gun, or whether she needed a payday loan or cash advance to seal the deal?
She bought the gun two days before the shooting
Tennessee police have informed relatives that Steve McNair’s 20-year-old girlfriend purchased the gun just two days before both were found dead in the condo leased by the former Titans star. Furthermore, the police claim they are “almost sure” that Kazemi was the shooter, to the disbelief of the Iranian girl’s family.
McNair divorce
According to reports that Kazemi’s family has backed up, Sahel was under some kind of assumption that Steve McNair was preparing to divorce his wife Mechelle and marry her. Sahel was in the process of selling her furniture before the big move-in date. Nashville courts have no record of a McNair divorce case, but the 14,000-square-foot family home is on the market for $3 million.
Dave & Buster’s
Friends of McNair indicate that he met Kazemi at a Dave & Buster’s restaurant where she worked as a server. Apparently, McNair’s family ate there frequently and they got to know her. The two began dating just a few months ago.

The Steve McNair-Sahel Kazemi relationship came as a surprise to the general public and most of McNair’s friends. Publicly, the ex-quarterback’s marriage was happy; they split time with their four sons between a farm in Mississippi and the large home in Music City, Tennessee. But a DUI and a gun-related arrest gave indication that McNair may have had some problems.
A recent DUI arrest occurred while McNair was with Kazemi. She was driving a 2007 Cadillac Escalade that was registered to both McNair and herself. Kazemi was taken into custody while McNair left the scene in a taxi.
People make mistakes, but this?
Nevertheless, his death came as a violent shock.
“People have certain things that they do in life,” said McNair friend Robert Gaddy. “We don’t need to look on the situation at this time (but) on the fact we just lost a great member of society.”
“As good as he was on the football field, that couldn’t touch the person,” said McNair’s agent, Bus Cook. “I mean, it just couldn’t.”
McNair’s death is considered a omicide. He was shot four times (twice in the head), while Kazemi was slain by a single shot to the head. Tennessee police spokesman Don Aaron said that all angles are being considered, and they have not yet ruled out Kazemi’s jealous ex-boyfriend in the matter.
A player and a gentleman
On the football field, he was known as “Air McNair.” He holds NCAA passing and total offense records from his days at Alcorn State in Mississippi. In the NFL, he was a warrior who made big plays through pain and could stand up to the best pass rush. His Tennessee Titans nearly won the Super Bowl in 2000, losing to the St. Louis Rams on a last-second play.
Off the field, Steve McNair was a generous man. His work with local charities included food, toys and monetary donations in Tennessee and Baltimore. He also put on football camps for disadvantaged children.
NFL Fanhouse reports that following viewing/memorial information for McNair:
A viewing will be held Thursday at a Nashville funeral home, followed by another viewing at Mount Zion Baptist Church, with a memorial service Thursday night. A funeral service will be held Saturday in Mississippi, but final details are not set.
