People will talk of Mechelle Cartwright
We live in a society that wants to look the other way when our beloved performers and famous folk commit marital infidelity. This is particularly true of politicians like Mark Sanford who find Jesus, or at least look him up in the Rolodex and touch base. Suddenly, they done warshed dere sins away!
Speaking of washing, a payday loan or cash advance may wash your budget clean and tidy, but they’ll never wash away the stains on your soul.
Republicans: the morality party
Some Republicans want to give him another chance – who cares that he used taxpayer money to abandon his job for a while? I don’t care if he was hauling his rod up to 7-11 to put his mouth on the Slurpee spout, he abandoned his job. He has abused the public trust and stolen their money. God isn’t a good enough reference to save this man’s job.
Former NFL star Steve McNair was also having an affair, and he abused the trust of wife Mechelle Cartwright and four boys. Now Steve McNair’s wife’s photo is in the news, as are photos of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi (or is is Saleh Kazemi, Googlers?). Sadly, two of those three people are now dead. The exact circumstances of the deaths of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi are not known at this writing. Cartwright is currently with family and is not speaking to the media.
Blindsided by the shattering crush
The New York Daily News reports that Mechelle McNair may have only learned about the affair between Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi after they were dead, say sources close to the former Tennessee Titans quarterback. Understandably, Mechelle is devastated.
“She’s blindsided by this,” one source said of Mechelle, who is said to be residing with family about six miles from where Steve McNair would meet with Kazemi. “She’s crushed. Her whole world is shattered.”
The scene of the crime
The allegation being bandied about in the media (currently unproven) is that the deaths of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi were the result of a murder-suicide. McNair, 36, was killed by four bullets at close range, two of them to the head. His death is being considered a homicide by Tennessee authorities. Kazemi, whose body was found dead nearby, was killed by a single shot from the same semiautomatic. The gun was found underneath her body.
Police are reportedly not looking for suspects and await test results before ruling on Kazemi’s death.
She worked at his local Dave & Buster’s
TMZ.com apparently has photos of McNair and Kazemi together. Friends say they’d been dating for a few months. A relative of Kazemi’s came forward to say that Kazemi believed McNair was in the process of a a divorce, which was not the case. Kazemi’s sister told the Florida Times-Union that Kazemi “expected to wed McNair.”Had McNair been drinking the night before? Investigators say yes. Were gunshots heard? Neighbors have said no. It is known that the pair died around 2 a.m. There was no sign of forced entry, and while it is currently unknown whom the pistol belongs to, it is also known that McNair did have a gun permit.
And there’s the ex-boyfriend angle
Kazemi, originally from Iran, moved to Nashville with her ex-boyfriend, Keith Norfleet. It has been reported that Norfleet had a “volatile” relationship with Kazemi and that he had been attempting to snatch her back from McNair.
“They had a lot of jealousy in their relationship and they’d fight and break up a lot,” said Trudie Norfleet. “He loved her… He’s awful torn up about it.”
I’m sure he is
We’ll see what the police turn up. Justice is one thing, but replacing a father, a son, a daughter and a sister is quite another. Perhaps the real reason they say justice is blind is that it can’t be bothered to see the true damage incidents like this does to families. In serving the innocent and the guilty their legal (but non-proportional) just desserts, we see how justice goes with blinders on.
