Short Term Loans are a Great Father’s Day Gift

Gift ideas

I Love YouShort term loans can be a great Father’s Day gift for your dad. But if those advance loans seem a little too grand for the holiday, you could try expanding on three of the ideas I have listed below. But first, I’ll share with you a little story.

Why Buy?

I loathe shopping for Father’s Day presents. I’ve always been awkward when it came to picking out gifts for my dad. He’s the type of guy who doesn’t necessarily have any particular taste, yet he can be obnoxiously picky at times. Maybe that picky characteristic of his has rubbed off on me, making me an almost impossible gift buyer.

Knowledge is Power. So Remember:

It’s very important to make it to the stores before Father’s Day to pick out anything. Most of the time the stores are ravaged, card selections are bummers, and the staff looks like zombies by the end of the work day.

Let’s Go Walking… or Shopping

My father’s mother and sisters, my dear sweet grandmother and aunts, are notorious for lengthy store walking. When they invited me to go Father’s Day shopping with them last year, I knew I’d need some ice packs to throw over my legs, a hot bath, and Tylenol to ease the muscular spasms I was sure to endure.

We passed item after item searching for the perfect gift to give the men in our lives. My man: daddy. I have a lot of his personality in me; I sing like him, I even entertain like him, but unfortunately I can’t shop for him. And after spending over 4 hours in just one store, the mission I set out to reign victorious over seemed obsolete: just find a freakin’ card!

Hour 9… of Shopping

When my grandmother, aunts, and I approached the ninth hour of shopping, I’d accumulated one card for my father. It had a nice poem on it explaining my unyielding support and pride in him, and on the cover there was a big guitar! He’s a music lover (and player) so I figured the card should sing something nice when opened. I found a card that played an oldie but goody: ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay’. Yet, I still wasn’t sure about getting him a card and nothing else.

Hour 10… My Legs: Numb

The hours stretched until it seemed the finish line would never be crossed. Forget about going to the gym, I received all the cardio I needed in one day. But after all of the walking I found a small MP3 player. It wasn’t anything as grand as an iPod, but it could hold up to 1,000 songs and pick up numerous radio broadcasts in the country. A musical card, plus a decent MP3 player, and I didn’t need short installment loans to purchase them. I knew he’d have the best Father’s Day ever.

Surprise!

When we all arrived at my dad’s house on an exciting holiday morning filled with family and friends, I was sad to discover that my dad had left. I sat around for about 3 hours, hiding from my grandmother’s cat. She likes to rub up against me and purr loudly. When I move my leg away from her, she always sneaks up on me and paws my skin. She makes sure it’s my skin and not clothing. Cats are smarter than people think.

When my dad finally came home I was mortified at what I saw. He came into the house dancing, the distinct melody of ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay’ chimed in a muffled fit of melodic ecstasy from the vicinity of his head. The brand new headphones over his ears looked like it cost more than my entire 2-gift power-flop. Maybe I’ll do better next year. Until then, here are three simple gift ideas most dads will love:

Tickets to a Game

In my experience of Father’s Day shopping, I’ve learned that some gifts work better than others. If you are stumped, the first idea I have for you is the gift of a game. Dads usually love sporting events. I’ve given my dad tickets to live WWE wrestling matches and he’s cooed like a baby in response. I try to keep things joyful at happiness house (a nickname for my parent’s home) by keeping my father in mind. You should remember that as well. Make sure you buy him two tickets as well; in case he wants to bring someone along with him (could that be you?)

Give Him a Day of Silence

Not many dads like being immersed in the hustle and bustle of fast city activities, but a majority enjoy spending a little quiet time to themselves on their special holiday. Try to arrange it so that he can have some peaceful time to himself or with the people he loves. This could include watching television, reading a paper, or sitting outside, talking and enjoying the breeze.

Search Less, Power Tools are best

Whatever power tool you buy him on this day will be a big hit in his eyes. I don’t know what it is about the magnetism of power tools to fathers, but they instantly turn into an excited child when handed something that only works in conjunction with an outlet.

If these few ideas aren’t enough, or don’t fit your fancy, maybe applying for short term loans is best. Then he’ll be able to get exactly what he wants.
