Adam Lambert’s Rolling Stone Cover Kicks off His Career

Adam Lambert, Rolling Stone a power couple

adam_lambertThere is a lot of money to be made in the music biz, and Adam Lambert and Rolling Stone magazine are about to get their hands on a big chunk of it.

Not only will Lambert’s career get a jumpstart thanks to having his picture appear on the cover of Rolling Stone, Adam Lambert’s not-surprising-but-well-anticipated revelation about his sexuality is bound to sell record numbers of Rolling Stone magazines.

More Adam Lambert news

Thanks to help from “American Idol” record company 19 Entertainment, Adam Lambert isn’t going to need cash loans to make his first record. He’s already signed a contract with 19 Entertainment and RCA Records to produce his first album.

That, paired with his already superstardom (after all, it’s Adam Lambert on Rolling Stone, not Kris Allen) is sure to have this 27-year-old glam rocker swimming in kiddie pools full of $100 bills in no time.

Oh yeah, the winner

In case you are wondering about Kris Allen, the actual winner of “American Idol,” who seems to have been surrounded by far less hype, he has signed his record contract as well.

Both Rolling Stone cover Adam Lambert and that guy who won “American Idol” should have their records on shelves in the fall.

Entertainment economy

Though the magazine industry has fallen on some troubled times lately, Rolling Stone has managed to remain lucrative by staying on the cutting edge, as always. The magazine’s web site features exclusive videos of its interview subjects, which are always the hottest in the biz.

Adam Lambert’s glam rock stage presence will also be helpful, financially, during his career. With increasingly ubiquitous and free access to music online, many musical artists now make most of their money from concert tickets and advertising gigs.

Music leads to more money

Lucky for Adam Lambert, he has acting experience and will likely be able to follow in the footsteps of American Idols such as Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. The two most successful Idols to date, Underwood and Clarkson both capitalized on commercial appearances to supplement record sales.

Underwood has appeared in commercials for Hershey’s and Sketcher’s shoes. Clarkson has endorsed Vitamin Water and ProActiv in television commercials and infomercials.

Speculating on Adam Lambert’s future

Despite confirming that he’s gay in his Rolling Stone revelation, Adam Lambert says he wants to focus on singing and performing, not being a civil rights advocate. He cites this as the reason he didn’t reveal this information while he was a contestant on “American Idol.”

So, do you think Lambert will go the way of Clarkson and Underwood, selling hip products on TV? If so, what kinds of things do you think Lambert will endorse? Feel free to leave your guesses below in the comments section.

Lambert probably hasn’t thought that far ahead yet. Most likely, he’s just basking in the enjoyment of being “Adam Lambert, Rolling Stone cover.”

Discussion of Adam Lambert’s Rolling Stone Cover Kicks off His Career

  1. Harry1982 says:

He will sell big if he endorses products that has something to do with fashion (denim, shirts, underwear, shoes, eyewear, jewelry, hair products, etc.), food supplements, fragrances, pain relievers, gadgets, among others.

  2. tij says:

The most successful commercials for ADAM LAMBERT will be the following (They need to be believable):
    1) Dr. Pepper (with his Dancing Through Life look/dance)
    2) iTunes commercial
    3) iPod commercial
    4) Cell Phone commercial
    5) Digital Camera/video camera commercial

  3. eb says:

Most successful AI alums—what about Jennifer Hudson?
It’s true that Adam could sell anything, but I hope he stays on the up side. I want my star to only endorse greats!
I’ll buy his CD that’s for sure! Most likely to buy Kris’ CD too. I like his style too and don’t understand why the music indutry critiques have to compare these two men and diss Kris. Their styles are completely different (apples & oranges)and their niche in music won’t be the same. Kris is ‘The AMERICAN Idol’ and Adam will be (he’s already made a significant dent) ‘The WORLD Idol’. Love both their styles of music.

  4. Michele says:

I think he should be the next
Calvin Klein model for sure! That would be awesome!! He has that sexiness appeal, he could sell anything!! His interview was amazing! He is raw, in your face and this is me, and I love it!! I hate that in the world we live in today, being gay or not gay is still an issue!! Why is sexual orientation such a big deal?

  5. TheFeyNan says:

I sent someone yesterday to pick up a copy of RS for me, still had Lady GaGa out, so I went on my lunch break today(still not out)..lol….I used to have a subscription to RS for yrs…..this will be the first one I have bought since my grandchildren were born, 19 yrs ago…I also will buy anything “Adam” it’s a “Mad World” for a lot of us ole Rock n’ Roll freaks….as Paula sayz “Take it all in my dear”….

  6. VA loves Adam says:

That wonderful man could sell ANYTHING………from cologne to clothes to hair products to jewelery to underwear. Could you imagine him in an underwear ad OMG! I love watching him perform as much as listening to him. I would imagine that he would be incredible in print and TV ads. Bring em on cause we need our Adam fix!!!

  7. OutlandoGirl says:

Nail polish and eye liner. And awesome clothes!

  8. adam fan says:

He needs to do a HULU commercial, yes I’m GAY , but I’m also an alien.

Love Adam he will go very far.

  9. sam says:

I wish him the best and I can’t wait to buy copies of RS: ) I love Adam. I managed to get a sneak peak at the article already – and though probably controversal…he is his usual unfiltered fabulous self and I love it. Kudos to Adam for not conforming. I am tired of the gay issue..it isn’t fair he had to “come out”. Have any straight artists had to announce they are straight? How do we know if the artists who haven’t announced if they are straight..are indeed straight? Apparently it matters. Not to me. I could care less. If my son is gay I don’t care – it’s a natural part of life. I wouldn’t even be typing about this but the media has made such a freaking issue of it I feel compelled to.

  10. Yas says:

Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of Rolling Stone. Adam should definitely endorse eye-liner products since so many comments have been directed at him on this. At some point Adam should start his own label of glam-rock fashion clothing and accessories – they will sell like hot cakes for sure! Way to go Adam.

  11. lexi says:

I think Adams success will be even greater than Underwood’s and Clarkson. There is an aura of excitement that surrounds this guy that none of the previous Idol contestants have. Can’t wait til his album drops and can’t wait to see where he goes from here. He is a truly talented individual, and the sexiest thing on two legs!

  12. deedee says:

Adam is a superstar. We knew it from the minute he sang Satisfaction. I think he will have longevity in the business. He is actually a pretty smart guy! Here is hoping he get some endoresement deal. I would love to see a commercial with him in it, but something classy.

  13. Canadianfan says:

Adam is amazing love his voice can’t wait for his album.

He needs to put out his own clothing line, he has a great sense of style. And of course his own brand of eyeliner.

  14. Lindajean139 says:

Men’s clothes. That guy has the most amazing style – and pants. You could build shrines around those pants and I would be right there to worship at it. Cologne, boots, mens watches, accessories. Anything you want to make “cool”. Hair care products – he is always changing up his style. Whatever he sells I would buy for my guy in hopes some of Adam might rub off on him..lol..

Yes, I too think he will have an amazing career. His vocal abillity is incredible – that range. Plus his performance ability is second to none. I can’t imagine what his first solo concert will be like. I know I’ll be camping out to get tickets.

  15. Carrie says:

LOVE ADAM LAMBERT!! I can’t wait to buy his CD when it comes out!! Go ADAM!!

  16. wtdp says:

This guy could sell ice to Eskimos – mad talent, mad style, TOTALLY mad fans, the stars are lined up for him and IMO nobody could deserve it more.

  17. Shirley says:

    Clothes!!! He is so fabulous!

  18. pb says:

    I agree with virginiamom…cologne!!!
and boxer briefs would be nice :)

  19. virginiamom says:

Cologne!! OMG – I would buy it TODAY!

  20. Peter Stone says:

All kinds of pills and all kinds of thrills, but the thrill that’s going to sell a lot of magazines and then records is the thrill of having his picture of the cover of Rolling Stone. The magazine is going to sell a lot of copies (which is unfortunate, because Rolling Stone has gone WAY downhill), and his records probably are going to fly off shelves, at least the first one. I don’t know why anyone gives a tinkers whether he’s gay or not, it’s the dumbest thing in the world. There have been some amazing gay singers, when you get down to it – Elton John, Liberace, Freddie Mercury, Bono, Toby Keith, Melissa Etheridge, KD Lang, Kanye West, and Rob Halford (Breaking the Law!!), but does that make a difference in how good their music is? No, and it isn’t like it’s anyone’s business to begin with.
