Hot tickets

Perry Farrell
Normally, I would not recommend getting payday loans for frivolous things like concert tickets. However, if getting a ticket to Lollapalooza 2009 is important to you, and you don’t have enough cash, you might want to consider getting an instant payday loan before all of the tickets are gone.
The price
There were some early bird passes to Lollapalooza 2009, but those are already sold out. Those went for $175, a bit less than the regular $190 per ticket for a regular 3-day pass to the music festival.
Lolla Lounge VIP passes, which promise “creature comforts and amazing sight lines,” cost $850.
The lineup
The New York Times published a partial list of the bands that will play at Lollapalooza 2009. The festival is being held Aug. 7-9 at Grant Park in Chicago. Here’s the NYT list of the bands:
- Depeche Mode
- Beastie Boys
- Tool
- Lou Reed
- Kings of Leon
- Snoop Dogg
- Andrew Bird
- TV on the Radio
- Vampire Weekend
- Decemberists
- Jane’s Addiction
You can check out the full lineup at the Lollapalooza web site. You can also buy tickets and get more details about the show there.
History of Lollapalooza
The first Lollapalooza was in 1991, and it was dreamed up by none other than Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell. Lollapalooza was held every year until 1997, went on hiatus for a bit and returned to the scene in 2003. The first Lollapalooza toured all over the United States and Canada.
Lollapalooza has had its share of money problems. According to Wikipedia, “in 1992, concertgoers ripped up chunks of sod and grass and threw them at each other and at the bands, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars in damage to The Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, Mich. From the beginning, concertgoers have complained about high ticket prices and high cost for food and water. So be prepared to spend some dough if you plan to eat at the show.

This has to be like the tenth Jane’s Addiction reunion. It’s cool to see bands that don’t play together anymore back together for one off shows now and again. Rage Against the Machine played a few festival gigs the last couple of years, but it’s too bad they haven’t done a bit more. It would be awesome if Soundgarden got back together for a one off gig – that would be huge.
It works for me .. this is the best way to make sure you don’t miss out on the special events in life that you don’t get a second chance at.
