Getting started…
For those just learning about affiliate marketing, everything seems so fresh and exciting, like when you realize you can get a fast payday loan in just hours. But for those individuals who’ve made a little money from it, they start becoming fat and lazy. It is that contentment that gets most affiliate marketing “gurus” left behind, with a huge hole in their pockets and a stick in between their wheels. I’ll list a few tips that could equal successful affiliate marketing for you.
Look Out for New Niches
As with the pilgrims, affiliate marketers never know when those streams will dry up. Make sure to always look out for new and emerging niches. If you keep testing new niches and markets then you’re likely to be one less “guru” left behind when the next big thing hits the market.
Create a Network
Try to attend an internet/web conference if you never have. Attending at least one a year will allow you to see the greatest that technology can offer. You can also network and form possible profitable partnerships. If, by chance, you meet some affiliate managers, jump on the opportunity. After all, they adore talking business with affiliates, it’s what they do!
Work the list
The “list” is where the money’s at. As you find new niches, also be looking for ways to expand your email list. After checking out those emails for weight-loss pills and payday loans, research services such as Feedburner or Aweber. These sites can assist you with keeping in contact with your email list or help you to construct one.
If You link It, They Will Come
Try and always be on the lookout for new websites and blogs to place your links. At least one or two sites a day, with your link is powerful. It might not sound like much right now, but soon you’ll have backlinks galore and Google loves that. Remember, Gurus that traffic equals money. If you have no traffic, there are no funds in your bank account. Keep the money in the account by generating traffic; generate traffic by generating links.
Always Add Fresh Content to your Site
Adding new content will keep readers coming back. This goes hand-in-hand with link building, in my opinion. Hey, and if you find it hard pumping out new articles consistently, they’re websites such as Elance.com, Guru.Com, and RentAWriter.com with plenty of freelance writers to add those keywords and do all the work for you.
You’re Not Too Cool to Utilize Social Sites
Remember the rules about linking and adding new content? Well this rule is just as vital. Social websites can be golden to your business, if you know how to work them. Site like Digg, Sphere, MyBlogLog, and StumbleUpon are just a few out of many that offer affiliate marketers a focused group of potential traffic and business contacts. Get your share of the traffic by utilizing these websites. Unless you’re receiving millions of hits a day, these sites are imperative for traffic growth.
Take a break
That’s correct. Taking a break is crucial, especially if you’re constantly fretting over a million and one things. Take a couple of days to forget about your websites, traffic, stats, and social networking, and spend some time with friends and family. This is a moment to regroup and start over again rejuvenated and refreshed.
I’ve dabbled in affiliate marketing quite often, and realized that staying either on the top or near the top of the industry requires constant changing from you. For instance, I have plenty of affiliate programs I work with, some selling books and movies, and some offering payday loans. The more versatile you are, the more successful you’ll be.
