Americans get online health care quotes

As the number of people without health insurance grows, so do their options.

As the number of people without health insurance grows, so do their options.

The unemployment rate is still climbing, and that means more individuals and families are losing their health insurance. But just as the Internet has made everything from paying bills to Christmas shopping easier, eHealthInsurance is making it easier for people to get health care.

Avoiding devastating bills

I read an article once about the first things you should do before you invest your money. The first item was to have an emergency fund. The second was get insurance.

It’s true, a trip to the hospital or some other type of unexpected medical expense can end up being financially crippling if you don’t have health insurance. Some urgent care clinics won’t even see you if you don’t pay upfront, so you might end up needing a payday loan just to get an ear infection checked out.

Now what?

It can feel overwhelming and confusing when you lose your health coverage. When I lost my job and my insurance, I crossed my fingers and hoped I didn’t get hurt.

So I went without coverage, and you can probably guess how the story ends. If I would have gotten health insurance I could have saved a whole lot of money.

Get help on the Internet

doctorMany people are turning to eHealthInsurance now when they find themselves without coverage. It’s convenient and it shows people all of their options. If you have grown up doing everything on the Internet, it speaks your language. It works much like a car insurance comparison web site. It’ll find coverage plans in your area and give you different quotes and options.

Can’t wait for the White House

Obama’s team is working on universal health coverage, but we all know it will be a long time before that dream becomes a reality. In the meantime, don’t make the same mistake I did and end up with a mountain of debt. Know that there are lots of options out there for getting health care. You don’t have to go any farther thanĀ  your computer to explore them.

  1. Peter Stone says:

eHealthinsurance and eAutoInsurance are really great. They allow you to do research on the services you need to subscribe to, and insurance companies really don’t like you to think that they should compete for your business.
