A Cash Advance For Decoding the Common Cold

Common cold, cash advance and you

coldA cash advance can be of great help when times are tough and a short-term emergency threatens your budget. However, you’ll need more than money to keep on the right path in life. It takes energy to keep up with the demands of daily living, energy which comes under assault during winter months due to frequent colds.

But colds may finally be a thing of the past. Yes, that’s right. Lauran Neergaard reports for the Associated Press that University of Maryland Medical Center and University of Wisconsin researchers have “cracked the code for the common cold .” They’re closer to a cure for that ubiquitous rhinovirus.

Cold genealogy

Dr. Stephen Liggett of the University of Maryland said that “Over about a three-year period of time, we’ve sequenced the entire genomes of all the known human rhino viruses.” This is a major accomplishment; they built a “family tree” for the virus, which is tough when all variations are considered.

Think of the money a cure will save. Think of the advance cash families are using on surprise ER bills for this already. According to Liggett, colds cost anywhere from $60 to $100 billion in medical bills each year. It can lead to ear infections, respiratory trouble and most of childhood asthma attacks.

A cure soon?

Liggett estimates that a real cure will be synthesized within the next five years. After that, it’s up to the Food and Drug Administration as to when the cure is released for public consumption. Unfortunately, their record is far from spotless. Until that’s sorted out, trips to the ER with sick kids will continue to clog the healthcare system, and cash advance loans will sometimes help families foot the bill.

Discussion of A Cash Advance For Decoding the Common Cold

You can take measures to stop the flu bug or cold from getting you this season. Remember young children are the #1 spreaders of germs, and they do so often. If you have or work around them, try Germy Wormy Germ Awareness for Germ Transportation Vehicles ages 2 –7. They learn in a fun and safe way how to keep from both catching and spreading germs. Parents, daycare centers and schools are raving about it. Less illness means less work time lost!

Give kids a PLACE to give their germs to – instead of you!

Colds are a pain in the butt; it’s never fun to come down with one. Plus, you’re definitely right; colds can take a huge bite out of a planned out budget. However, besides this awesome cure they’ve invented, there are still many inexpensive things you can do to avoid catching a cold. For instance, washing your hands frequently is probably the best, inexpensive way to prevent colds and many other types of infections. Sanitize everything around you and frequently clean surfaces such as stair rails, telephones, counter tops and door knobs to avoid hand-to-hand spread of viruses. Another thing to keep in mind is that germs remain in stagnant air. Open windows (if/when the weather permits) to circulate fresh air.

I’ll believe that one when I see it. A cure for the common cold is nothing to sneeze at, but let’s be realistic here: a cold is a nuisance rather than a threat, and there are some other diseases that need far more attention than the sniffles. I think we all remember that AIDS, Herpes, oh and some other really nasty ones like the Avian flu, ebola, and we still haven’t even cured a simple staph infection, which has evolved into other forms like MRSA, VISA, and VRSA, and those are FAR scarier than a cold, never mind cancer. A cure for the cold is a great accomplishment, don’t get me wrong, but there are diseases that are real killers that need to be dealt with first.
