They ran off, but I was hurt

There was a deep gash as blood gushed out.  Seeing my shirt doused in blood, they thought that I had been stabbed in the chest.  They ran leaving me badly injured. I was losing a lot of blood. Somehow, I regained my composure and managed to ride my bike to a hospital which was just down the street.

Those thieves had stolen my wallet

The doctors advised me to undergo a minor surgery immediately. The surgery was successful and I was told to rest.  I left the hospital the next day. But, before I left, the nurse came to me and gave me a bill for the medical expenses. It was only then I realized that those criminals had stolen my wallet. My wallet contained my credit cards and some money. I immediately called up the bank and blocked my credit cards to prevent those crooks from misusing them.
