Does New York Knicks Player Eddy Curry Need Cash Advance Loans?

By Ranma Saotome, your cash advance loans news source

Recent happenings have raised some concerns…

Will Eddy need to take out cash advance loans? The recent buzz about Eddy Curry, former player for the Chicago Bulls, now with the New York Knicks, is that he’s being sued for $41,000. …  and a $5,424 bit of interest on top of that, by the Casual Male Retail Group. Why? Just a shopping bill that has gone unpaid since 2006, that’s all.

With all the money this guy makes, it’s no secret that he could more than afford to foot the bill. Or can he? Are times tough for Eddy?

The cost of high living…

First, how did this clothes bill get to be so darned huge in the first place?

Apparently, when he wasn’t donning his official team attire, he had very refined taste for items that cost a small mint. He bought dress shirts costing up to $350 each, for example, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Among the things he acquired were a wool crew-neck sweater that came to $750, about $22,000 in suits, $3,700 in ties and a $1,390 cashmere v-neck sweater. (OK, this is even more than cash advance loans could help out with!)

Compulsive spending, or was there a driving force?

Mind you, this was all from clothes shopping between January and April of 2006. What’s going on here? Sure, he’s wealthy. And yes, celebrities often live extravagantly. But as far as clothes, few of us remember or even realize that appearance in mass media has a gigantic influence on this particular issue. This very influence affects Eddy, just as it would any celebrity, any time he appears off-game.

The one, unbreakable rule in mass media…

Eddy Curry

As anyone in television can tell you, appearing more than once in the same outfit on any screen of any kind is a huge no-no. It’s just simply not done. It’s the ultimate media taboo.

This even goes for suits, believe it or not. Even if you can’t tell the difference from one suit to the next,  the show’s credits mention the guest’s wardrobe and so do some newspapers and tabloids.

The chains that bind…

Think about it. If any such tabloid scribbling appeared in the mass media mentioning anyone onscreen, be they well-known or not, but especially a wealthy celebrity, wearing the same outfit twice, all Hades would come unchained.

This may seem a bit idiotic when you really think about it, but it’s nonetheless true. Sadly, this is just one of the many circumstantial manipulations of life that anyone in the spotlight must suffer and endure.

Some may speculate a mere communication blunder…

Could it merely be a misunderstanding? Perhaps this initial shopping spree soon after the move from the Bulls to the Knicks was thought to be on the Knicks’ tab and Eddy forgot about it all this time?

I mean, let’s consider the obvious. In my humble opinion, it doesn’t seem that Eddy has a single criminal bone in his body, and I certainly don’t suspect any malicious intent. Let’s not forget that as a professional player of his level, he certainly doesn’t make mere pennies on his payday.

Temporary problems can be solved momentarily…

Even if for some reason he was momentarily strapped for cash, cash advance loans against his next payday would certainly put an end to all this within a couple of hours. One last point to remember is that the media does have a tendency to harp on details and blow a big story out of them, when it may  just be a simple misunderstanding. After all, it’s all only a matter of paying a forgotten bill, simple as that.

It sounds to me that Eddy Curry just had a bill that got lost in a move from the Bulls to the Knicks and it just got forgotten. To bad he doesn’t have an accountant or maybe he does???

  2. Ranma says:

Yeah, exactly… I mean, he doesn’t seem to have any motive at all for “pulling a fast one” – like, just look at the money he makes, right? The bill for those clothes are probably amounts to what he makes in an hour, more or less, if you work it all out. It’s obviously got to be just some kind of a mere oversight somehow.

It’s just ridiculous how much money these stardoms hurl out. I was just reading another article on this site about the UN food rights declaration and a thought came to mind. We live in a world that’s overflowing with riches, right? Right. So why are there over 6 million children who die of starvation and related causes every year? The U.S. in particular is one of the richest nations in the world. Just look at the ridiculous amount of money that’s basically being thrown out for nothing but a petty attempt to catch a batting eye. Eddy Curry, as well as many other celebrities, should lay off their ego a little bit and get a reality check.

I’m sure this is some sort of misunderstanding – it would have to be. The opposite is kind of unthinkable. I’m sure that anyone who makes that kind of money, whether they are an athlete or not, is aware of the fact that they have to pay for their purchases. An oversight in the middle of a transitional period is easy to make.
