Payday Loans needed after Arctic Blast Closes Schools and Work

It snowed and snowed and snowed!

This past Friday was payday for many and a snow day for others causing many to seek payday loans. Friday is when the snow started to fall in my small one-horse town. My boss told me to go home early, since I can’t drive in the snow. I am not sure why I can’t drive in the snow. It might be the tires, the vehicle I drive or the fact that I moved from Newport Beach, CA to a small town cuddled in between cascading mountains.

From Newport Beach, CA to the “snow belt”

It was love at first sight when I purchased some land to build my dream home on a warm summer’s day. Little did I know at the time that my new home is known in these parts as a “snow belt.” I highly advise any potential home builder/buyer to make their decision on a cold December day, similar to that of last Friday.

Sandbags to help keep me from sliding on the ice

I left work and as I drove home I noticed how many stores were closed: the grocery story, the beauty shop, the payday loans store.  Because of the continuing heavy snowfall, I just barely made it into town. I decided to load up my trunk with sandbags for added traction. I walked into the gas station and asked the lady behind the counter for three 70 pound bags of sand. I asked her if there was anyone to help me load them, to which she replied, “I can’t leave the counter, so my suggestion is that if you can’t load them yourself, then don’t buy them.” I had a few choice words for her, but at about 6’2” and 300 pounds I decided that I valued my life.

I went to the car and opened the trunk. I was not able to lift the sand bag, and so I dragged it utilizing every bit of strength that I had. When I got to the edge of the trunk, I picked up the bag, took a deep breath and threw it up into the trunk, along with my entire body in tow, causing the trunk lid to slam down on my back.

Thank goodness for good-looking cowboys!

Ouch! As I was still recovering in my trunk, contemplating taking out payday loans for the back doctor, I heard a man clear his throat (trying not to laugh) as he said, “Ma’am, can I help you with that?” I pulled myself from my trunk and looked up at a nice looking cowboy type. I thanked him and told him that I needed two more bags. He loaded them into my vehicle. He then smiled, shook my hand and told me that he hoped I had a better night. I probably would have had a much better night had it included him shoveling my driveway while I ate bon bons and sipped a glass of Merlot by a roaring fire.

Shoveling and still more shoveling

I drove home to find that I already had a little over a foot of snow. So, before I could pull my vehicle into the garage, I had to shovel. It took me about an hour to clear the driveway. I went in the house and woke up the next morning to find another foot of snow. I shoveled again to get out to the gym and to the store.

The entire town is covered in snow, and the streets are encased in solid ice. If that doesn’t make you want to pack up the spouse and kids and move to a small mountain town, then I should add that the weekend high averaged 11 degrees, with high winds causing the wind chill to feel well below zero.

Sandbags, shovels and missed days of work. Actic blasts cost us quick cash.

Well that’s my story. I wish all of you a Happy Holiday. And when you haphazardly toss your own junk in a trunk, may there be a cowboy standing by to bail you out-or at least payday loans! And may the arctic blast stop dumping snow on all of us so we don’t miss another payday.

Shoveling snow is the worst, especially when it is any thing over 2in. I think every home that gets more than 2in of snow year should automatically come with a snow blower!
