Dennis Quaid gets Settlement Over Medical Mix Up
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has awarded actor Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly a $750,000 settlement, about 1,000 payday loans worth, for the recent medical mix up involving there two week old twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace. The twins were apparently given an overdose of Heparin which was a 1000 times greater then the recommended dosage. Herapin, is a blood thinner, and the dosage given left the newborn twins fighting for their lives.
Quaid and his wife are the proud recipients of twins who were born to a surrogate mother on Nov. 8th. This brings Quaid’s litter up do three. He currently has a 15 year old son from his past marriage to Meg Ryan.
Apologies Are In Order

Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly have settled with the medical center that nearly killed their newborn twins.
The Medical Center was fined by California’s Department of Public Health and a formal apology to Dennis and Kimberly Quaid was given by the Centers chief medical officer Michael L. Langberg,
“I want to extend my deepest apologies to the families who were affected by this situation, and we will continue to work with them on any concerns or questions they may have. This was a preventable error, involving a failure to follow our standard policies and procedures, and there is no excuse for that to occur at Cedars-Sinai. Although it appears at this point that there was no harm to any patient, we take this situation very seriously.”
Cedars- Sinai Medical Center has since taken steps to insure that their staff is better trained to avoid such mistakes in the future.
The Quaid’s were relieved with the outcome as their representative went on the record with the following statement,
“Dennis and Kimberly appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and hope they can maintain their privacy at this difficult time.”
Enough is Enough
It is likely that the Dennis and his wife Kimberly could have sued the medical center for much more extra cash then the settled upon amount but the expense of litigation between the two parties as well as the time involved made the settlement mutually acceptable by both the medical center and the Quaids. The legal papers filed with the Superior Court in Los Angeles on Monday read,
“The settlement is the result of extensive negotiations between the parties and their respective legal representatives, and is intended to avoid the time, expense and uncertainty of litigation.”
Litigation attorneys are quite the expense, and a person often couldn’t afford one on payday loans alone.

Wow, what a misfortune. I was just reading an article about the nurses and hospital attendants in Italy who allegedly got their jobs using fake diplomas. Hmmm, I wonder… (

Wow. 1,000 times the normal dose. That is amazing. I heard it was because the labels for the adult dose and the infant dose are easy to confuse, or something to that effect, but the solution percentages are usually well labeled on those kinds of medicine.
