Topping The Charts
Britney Spears has done it again with her new debut album “”Circus” which sold more than half a million copies in the last week. Circus topped debut weeks by other popular artists such as Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Maria Carey and Beyonce. Clearly, she won’t need payday loans for a while.
Over a decade ago she topped the charts with “Baby One More Time” and then again with “Womanizer” last October which apparently has sparked a comeback for the controversial pop artist. She along with her record label are both enjoying some new found success.
There has been a lot in the news lately about the Britney Spears which is nothing out of the ordinary but I thought a quick recap of the stars road to success would be prudent for those of you who are curious.
Born To Be A Star
Britney, born in McComb, Mississippi on Dec. 2 1981, began her quest for stardom and the age 6 when she began taking dance lessons. Her first televised exposure was in the popular “Star Search” television where she was the winning contestant.
In 1993 America’s little star joined the cast for the “Mickey Mouse Club“, a popular television series which went off the air in 1996.
Britney Goes Live With “Jive”
In 1997 Britney signed on to her first record label “Jive” and released her first music single “Baby One More Time” followed by the album in 1999. This album really started to propel her forward and she soon got the opportunity to host and perform on “Saturday Night Live” in May of 2000. Britney then released her next album a short time later called “Oops! I Did it Again“.
Pepsi, finally decides to sign the rising star onto a two year contract in 2001 just before she releases her third album called “Britney“.
On The Television And In The Movies
2002 found Britney all over the television as she makes another appearance on Saturday Night Live and has a whole hour of the “Oprah Winfrey Show” devoted to her. Spears also gets a starring role in a teen movie called, “Crossroads“. The movie was critically and commercially panned – and many who viewed the movie would get payday loans to prevent anyone else from seeing it, either.
Controversy,Insults, Shock and Awe. Britney’s Life Gets Steamier
As with most stars, they eventually become both loved and hated. In Late 2002 and 2003 Britney begins to see she is not immune when filming a commercial in Los Angeles where she is splashed by buckets of urine. If that wasn’t enough to hurt her feelings, First Lady Kendel Ehrlich publicly said that she would like to shoot Britney spears. Kendel later apologized.
When it comes to drawing attention to yourself few people do it better than Britney Spears. Her next act, which the whole world remembers quite well was her “French Kiss” with Madonna on stage at the MTV Music Video Awards while performing the song “Like A Virgin“. This could have been looked at by many as the passing of the torch by Madonna who has had one of the most popular and controversial pop careers of all time.
It’s Official, Britney Gets A Star!
Britney Spears gets a star on the “Hollywood Walk of Fame“, possessing now the status that few in the music industry will ever get to experience and forever leaving her mark on Hollywood and the music industry.
2004 marks the the release of Britney’s forth album “In The Zone“, her marriage to Jason Allen Alexander that was annulled fifty five hours later, her marriage to Kevin Federline, her chewed gum which is put on Ebay by a fan, and a her new fragrance called “Curious” which smelled of musk and vanilla. She also releases the greatest hits collection called “Greatest Hits: My prerogative“.
Britney’s Fame Surpasses That of the Oscars And Causes Britney’s Neighbors To Move.
Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson’s fame is surrounded by so much publicity that they are reportedly banned from attending the Oscars for fear of them stealing the show and the paparazzi has become such a prevalent part of Spears daily life that her Malibu neighbors have to think about moving, and getting payday loans to get their house packed quickly.
Britney Becomes A Mom
April 13th of 2005 Britney confirms she is pregnant and requests Madonna to be the Godmother of her child, apparently Madonna must of been upset she was kissing somebody else because she reportedly turns the request down. She also starts a reality TV show called “Choatic” which airs for just over a month on the UPN network. None the less, for better or worse Britney is voted as the number one virus Celebrity, just edging out Bill Gates of the software giant, Microsoft.
On September 14th 2005 Britney becomes a mother after giving birth to Sean Preston.
With enough money and fame to put on loan, payday for this star just keeps getting bigger and bigger. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Britney and her fans as well, whether it involves payday loans for concert tickets or whatnot.
The Britney evolution is a very interesting thing to watch evolve and she isn’t even close to an end point yet. So, I’m gonna stay tuned hopefully she gets everything worked out for her children but if she doesn’t I’m here to watch the train wreck to!
Good for her. I hope she can keep it up, regardless of how fun it is to watch former teenage icons unravel in front of us. Which it is….nobody try to deny it!
I was never a huge fan of Britney Spears. Of course, like many other people, I was somehow drawn to her as her ever so perfect life unraveled. However, I found myself admiring this young idol. Considering everything she has gone through for the past years, she has made a remarkable recovery – something many celebrities would fail to re-establish after a disaster like Britney’s. I just want to say one more thing to those of you who are still judging Britney based on her past. Like Chris Crocker said, “JUST LEAVE HER ALONE!”
