Today I’ll share with you a small secret that most are unaware of, that helps establish credit quickly. First you need to find someone that you trust is financially responsible and more importantly someone who trusts you.
You can have someone with good credit adopt you into their credit by making you a joint account holder with them. Prime examples would be issuing you a credit card under their account or co-signing on a loan for you.
The account will now show up on your credit report and if the balances you accrue are paid off responsibly, you should see a boost in your credit.
Keep in mind however that any delinquencies or missed payments that you make will not only effect you as the co-signer has in effect given their word that you would make good on this account, therefore the delinquencies will show up on their report as well. You will both share the good and the bad together.
